Many of  the bronies was not being just childish but also annoying with G1 , and they sometimes annoy me. When you can't see any appropiate opinion but just trolls about something that you love, I know the feeling.

 

But something I can't understand is why you are here if they annoy you while you aren't a fan of FIM , are you here to enjoy yourself with people you want to be "online friend" with? probably no. I think ( maybe I am not right ) you are here to take revenge, writing things that may hurt some bronies, things that I don't find right.

Anyways, no, i'm not here to insult, but rather socialize with the most popular phenomena fans since the Sonic fandom. I'm here to accept other bronies opinions and try to share the same kind of respect that has been reborn for the G1 MLP since the S4 finale.

 

This is a good oportunity to give more information of the original material thus as I've said before, rise some respect to the not so respected previous generations, since, after all, they all have elements that completed the new MLP, Friendship is Magic that you all bronies love, while I respect it.

 

I'm sorry if I was by any means harsh to either you or Eliash147. Personal problem, I sometimes stay with the original material, the same way as I prefer the 80s He-Man over the 2000s one, yet I recognize that the new He-Man is millions of times better. With MLP the same, but for different reasons, reasons that I will may speak about in th future.

G1 and G4 are two halves of a whole. If Hasbro ever had the idea to combine them, it would be absolutely amazing.
G1 is amazing at action adventure, but its characters are really simple.
G4 has amazing characters, but the action is rather dry at time.
Smash the two together, and they fix up each others weaknesses. That's why I don't feel it's fair to compare them; one really isn't altogether better than the other.

1. I've only seen a few people that like the previous generations more than FiM, and most of the time, it's just G1, not "G2", G3 and G3.5

 

2. It's really a matter of opinion. Personally, I prefer FiM, but if people like the older gens, they're always allowed to like the older gens.

How do I begin comparing these 2 generations...

 

It's pretty obvious that I love/ like G1, and quite respect G4.

 

What do I like about G4?

 

-First of all, it combines the best elements from the previous gens (the adventure style from G1, the morals from G2 and the voice-acting from G3, plus characters from all of them) and gives us a new more modern tone for MLP, while still being a little loyal to the original.

 

-Visually interesting. This is not only me, EVERY single brony (without counting fans from previous gens) was amazed by the animation. Sure this was animation was used in G3 alongside hand-drawn animation, which I have to say I really do miss these days, but, the new characterization of giving the ponies actual expressions was something the franchise needed since the beginning. They had expressions, but here they're more humanized, not as much antropomorphic as G2, per say, but you know, good work.

 

-Succesful main moral. The main moral of the Show was "Friendship is Magic". The very first two episodes are my second favourites, after Twilight's Kingdom, because they explain this PERFECTLY. They explain their basic and simple personalities and they prove WHY Friendship is "Magic". Nicely done, Faust, you arrived to the same level as your husband with this one.

 

WHAT I DON'T LIKE (Maybe will have rants)

 

-The Villains.

The highlight of the G1 episodes was that almost every episode a threat would come by, and by many different means (sometimes Deus Ex Machina) they'd end up fixing it.

These new villains are... Meh... Either they're badly done like Nigthmare Moon or Sombra, or they're just plain cheap and pure rip-offs, like Chrysalis being technically Ursula or Discord being technically Q. 

Even minor villains, the Diamond dogs or the Teenage dragons are also rip-offs.

Trixie, Gilda and others were made to emphasize morals. Yet...WHY TRIXIE RETURNED? An entire episode only to learn that she reformed?

 

-Songs. Okay, they're good, I'll give you that. Smile is a very happy and nice tune, This Day Aria is... also something relative to The Little Mermaid that I don't want to talk about. My favourite is the Bats song from S4. Catchy, yet dark tune. Pretty good.

However I feel that sometimes the songs go forever, especially since they don't set (sometimes) any part of the episode. In G1, the songs also had meaning, they were a bit less long than most of the songs in G4, but sometimes they set things, like when in the one episode with the villain Grogar, the slaves and the ponies escape from the dark dimension while singing a song of their salvation, and Grogar is stuck one again on his dimension. Or in the episode with Arabus, the Flutterponies sing a song while they're defeating him. (The Flutterponies are pretty OP)

Comparing them is not good, I'll just leave saying that they're not my cup of tea-kind songs.

 

-The OBVIOUS morals.

This is something that happened less the more the show advanced forward. While the fact that Twilight had to write certain letters to her mentor, every time, they had to spit the morals to you. Nowadays is probably needed, anyways, modern kids are mostly stupid, or either have horrible tastes. Anyway, this was just annoying to me, in the original, the messages were there, but they were invisible and you had to see it by yourself, one you saw like, a Disney movie, the message was there, you remembered certain situation and what you learned about it. In FiM, the message is displayed at the end, always the same.

 

However, aside from the villains, these are my personal not-critic problems I have with the show.

 

I still think that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is one of the greatest cartoons for kids an adult alike in the world.

I mean, compared to Adventure Time which is pure senseless stupidity...
