searching Everlasting Summer [Advanced Roleplay]

What if Summer could last, forever?

 

 

 

What if Summer was your entire life? Everyday it was warm, everyday it was bright, and everyday you could live without a single worry?

 

     Welcome to Isle City, a single island city south of Manehattan, in a group of other barrier islands close to the Equestrian main land. City dwellers from not only Manehattan, but Fillydelphia, love to come up to these islands when the season is right. The great ocean, and the beaches it provides, often being a excellent vacationing spot getaway.  Each island had their specialties, like boardwalks, or casinos, but Isle City was different. It was secluded, it was place some ponies could only dream of going to. Isle City wasn't like any other, it was the richest of them all. It was also the most eastern place in Equestria. But what made it really special, was it's everlasting summer.

 

     Sure, all the other islands were great when the season was right, but in Isle, the season was always right! High powered unicorns created a generator that created a blanket of warmth would always cover the entire city, bringing eternal summer to the land. However, these lands were exclusive. Only few rich could come in time to buy property before it was sold out, and to sit on the beach you had to have either a property or a reservation. Only few ponies were aloud on those beaches everyday, to keep the island from being overly crowded everyday. The island was like every other, except for the big houses, and very clean atmosphere.

 

     So, it'd be in your wildest dreams to ever get a chance to even see this place, right? Well that dream just came true, it actually did more then come true. Somehow, someway, you have won a stay at one of the mansions along the bay for a unknown length of time... but most likely a long one. Of course you won't be alone, for this home will be shared. Now you have to share a house with your new roommates and... well... Enjoy the heck out of yourselves! Though, something is quite suspicious about this whole situation.

 

 

Setting:

 

    The Year is 20XX

 

     

        Isle City:  Isle city is a large barrier island, the most southern of them all, the very last, and most eastern. Like any barrier island, it's long and skinny, running right up the coast of the Fillydelphian suburbs. To it's western side is a bay, separating it from the mainland, and to it's east side is the vast ocean. It's bay coast has a lot of large mansion homes, while the ocean coast has more beach-like homes. It's beaches go up the entire island, with guards on duty constantly. Also, there are a lot of bars and restaurants along the beach. The middle of the island has a pretty long boardwalk that doesn't run all the way up the island, but is covers a good length of it. The boardwalk also includes restaurants and bars, as well as stores.The weather, of course, is always perfect. The island isn't tropical at all though. It has no palm trees or much vegetation at all. It's actually mostly suburban with a beach style. The streets run up along the entire island.

 

      World: THIS IS A MODERN EQUESTRIA. Equestria is very much like ours, with cars, phones, and computers. Magic is still around, but Equestria is mostly modern now. It's also a democracy, with Princess Celestia and Luna as large parts of this. However, this won't be mentioned much at all in the story.

 

      Residence: This is a concept of the home your OC will be staying in

 

     The house is one of the larger mansions on the bay (West) side of the island. It has a large dock with included boat, yacht, and jet ski's, as well as the equipment needed to use them. It has a large 3 door garage with a SUV and sports car, ready for use. The inside includes many rooms, for many activities like art, arcade games, or parties. It has a huge family room/living area, the kitchen that connects to it, and a large stair case that leads down to this area as well. This is a more complex, detailed, and planned-out version of the home. On the drawn out map, each letter represents a room. If it has a small number, that means that is the second version of that room

 

 

FLOOR 1

 

 

FIRST ARROW: This indicates the front of the house, and it's main entrance. 

 

ALL H's STAND FOR HALLWAYS: Halways are long, have pictures and paintings on the walls, and are what connect all the rooms in the house.

 

ALL W's STAND FOR WASHROOMS: -Or Bathrooms. Every bathroom has a golden sink, tub, and shower. Not real gold, but pretty darn nice. They are pretty much all the same and have everything a typical bathroom would have... just more fancy.

 

O: On the map, this is the swirly pair of stairs that lead to the second floor

 

S: On the map, this is the laundry room, and it also leads to the Garage. 

 

G: This is the garage. It can fit 3 cars, has room for storage, and mechanic's tools too. 

 

R(1): The main living area for the downstairs. Has couches, a TV, and is generally just the social epicenter of a house. Again, think of this like any other family room, but a lot more fancy. It has nice decorations too.

 

SHADED AREA: I forgot to put a letter here. If there was to be a letter, it'd be 'D' for the dining area. Has a large table, with fancy settings. Not much too it. To the left is another hall I forgot to lable

 

K: Kitchen. It's huge and is usually run by professional cooks. It has every tool imaginable, as well as any appliances a professional kitchen could have.

 

V: This stands for Vault. It's basically a pantry for expensive food, wine, and spices, all locked up because of how expensive some of these things are.

 

Ar: Arcade. Has arcade games that don't need coins. Pinball, shooters, Skee Ball... you name it, there is a machine for it.

 

L(1) UPSIDE DOWN: A study, or library. It has tons of books on shelves, and a nice quiet place to read or study. This room also holds the houses computers.

 

P: Stands for Porch. This is NOT inside the home, therefore having crossing lines. It has VERY nice patio furniture, a large grill, and many more things. Walk off and head straight and it will lead you down to the dock

FLOOR 2

 

 

o: Stairs lead upstairs

 

B: Bedrooms. Each bedroom is has a queen bed, dresser, mirror, and small closet. They actually aren't that big or impressive. Would have everything a normal bedroom would have. None of them are master status, they are each the same.

 

PY: Stands for 'Play' or Playroom. In here are toys for a youngster, and is basically a child friendly room.

 

A: Arts. It has easels, desks, all different paints, and all different instruments including a piano. Anything artistic or musical is in here for enjoyment.

 

W's: bathrooms. I already said this. The H is also the hallway.

 

L(2): Library or study for the upstairs. Not as big, but is almost identical to the one downstairs. Book, places to sit, and computers.

 

PR: Party Room. Has a bar, alcohol, a disco ball, TV's, and DJ booth for all your wild parties. 

 

R(2): Another living area for the upstairs. Identical to the one downstairs with what it holds, except in a different location.

 

 

 

Your Character in the Roleplay

 

     You can choose any OC to your liking, as long as they follow the guidelines that will be posted bellow. Your character must have a modified story in order to place them in a more modern Equestria. Your character, where ever they were living, received a letter. It spoke of a home on this island, and that you have been chosen, but your character ignores it, thinking it's spam. However, they get it again, they throw it away, and again, and again, with continuing failure. Eventually you get a phone call, and a anonymous pony tells you it isn't spam. Out of curiosity, you go to the address given, and look around to find this house was truly left for you.

 

     Your character will be put with others, and will be sharing this house with them. The same thing has happened to them, and now they will share the home with you, though quite suspicious. Here is an application you MUST fill out. Links to your character are fine, but this is a ADVANCED ROLEPLAY, that expects your character to be fit backstory, appearence, age, and personallity wise to the RP. Don't worry, these thing really won't change that much. Honestly you can copy and paste your char's backstory, as long as you skim through and make it canon to this story.

Gender: (Oak: Are you a boy, or a girl?)

 

Age: (Anything from 18 to 35. I want to keep it young. If you have a character younger then 18, they must have a parent/guardian that has brought them along. You will have to play the parent/guardian aswell)

 

Race: (Anything canon and REASONABLE from the show. Pony races include pegasus, unicorn, or earth pony. No alicorns, or changelings)

 

Appearance: (Either a description or picture of your character. By the way, your character has to be atleast a little ordinary looking. No red and black OC's with horns.... Try to have your character look like it came out of the show, however there will be exceptions)

 

Personality: (How does your character act? Your OC can be mean, it's actually wanted. No Mary-Sues'. Your character must have a FLAW. Minimum of 3 sentences)

 

Backstory: (What is your OC's story up to this point? Minimum of 5 sentences)

 

Arrival: (What is your OC's feelings about this trip? Also, how did they get there? If by vehicle, what kind? This can be short) 

 

 

 

Rules:

 

 

-You must have some experience roleplaying. If you are not chosen, please do not be upset. Most of you will be chosen, but I will rule out some OC's. Use another OC if you don't succeed the first time. Also make the required changes

 

-Star-Lord is the GM/Gamemaster/Owner/OP/Admin... whatever you call it... Of this roleplay. She will call who gets chosen and also push the plot

 

-No NSFW (But yes, romance) and site rules apply. Drinking alcohol is aloud, but not out of control.

 

-Action is aloud, but nothing more then heated arguments that end in a hoof fight. No guns, weapons, or anything of that sort. Also, excessive drama will not be aloud.

 

-Ludicrous plot turns or actions from your character won't be aloud

 

-No meta-gaming, godmodding... all that junk.

 

-PLEASE BE ACTIVE. If you join, stay, and if you are staying, please post. What kills EVERY SINGLE ROLEPLAY, is a lack of POSTING. Try to take the precautions so that people aren't confused, and can post.

 

-No fighting or arguing. All OOC belongs here. No OOC is aloud in the main thread... once it is made

Backstory: Grew up with his parents and little brother. When he met Anala, he quickly fell in love with her. They spent lots of time together. They would get into mishaps often. After leaving school, he got a job at Manehattan Novelty Store.

 

Arrival: Riley is excited to be making lots of new friends. He arrived by train.

Appearance: A black minotaur with white horns and amber eyes [but normal black pupils], he dresses in hoof-sneakers, grey long exercise pants (which vary only for weather) and a variety of shirts which are all appropriate for exercise, most of which are dull colored. 

 

Personality: Blustery, he tends to speak loudly and assertively

 

but this is to hide his lack of self confidence.

 

He tends to emphasize the physical over the mental, spiritual or mental, but will, if he sees the need, talk in clipped sentences about such things. 

He is hardworking, and expects others to be so also, but that doesn't keep him from enjoying some of the pleasures of life.

He is used to getting things his way, which doesn't necessarily mean that he won't compromise, just that he expects that his version of compromise will be expected.   [this feeling of getting his way may not be linked to previous experience]

 

Backstory: Raised on the edge of Equestria, listening to stories of some of his ancestors which were often wildly inaccurate, he decided to go to the premier school for advanced physical education degrees in Equestria.  Hard work and bullheadedness kept his grades sufficient to overcome his bias of trying to imitate family legends from the smudged and battered books that he inherited and constantly tries to emulate.

A personal trainer by trade, Pump, (a decendant of Will [who is remembered in family lore and is a personal role model {via family lore}]), is quite capable of training ponies, but his blustery manner has turned them off, and his business is failing, and he has recently realized that a downturn in the local economy has pretty much doomed his business.  So, rather than falling to the wayside of the Detrot streets, he decided to look into these odd letters.

 

Arrival: He walked.  Actually he probably left early, and got there late/on time.  He cares more for the free ride than he cares about the others, and hopes to restart a personal training career.

I really wish you gave a little more meat onto his personality/backstory, however a combination of your profile and this gives me enough to say he's accepted. Again though, when you have the time, it'd be nice to add a few more sentences.

I like this character a lot, he's a classic character we've all seen before and love. Not exactly Iron Will, but his own unique character. He'll surely stir up some interesting development with other characters and a plot.

 

However. As I said before, this is a modern version of Equestria. I have no idea if Iron Will is still alive, most likely not. The reason Celestia and Luna are, is because they are gods. I really, really, really don't want to go into the story of canons in this roleplay because it isn't needed. If you could cut out that he is related to Iron Will, that'd be awesome. Your minotaur can be totally independent, I really don't mind that.

 

Also, like I said to Rainbow, a little more meat would be nice... and if you have a link to a profile on this character, that would be nice too. If you don't have one, it's cool, but I definitely want a few more sentences on his back story and personality.

Age: 24 and 2 months

 

Race: Both are pegasus ponies

 

Appearance:

 

Personality: Anna's personality is mainly the way it is because of how she grew up, and what was around her growing up. Since she was born in a rich home, always being taught the correct way by professional nurses and maids, she has a very good base. Anna is friendly, very polite, intuitive, and observing. As for other personality attributes, the biggest of them all is her vast and massive knowledge. She's a bookwork, she loves books, and is always striving to be better, not only with books, but with everything. She's a bit awkward, a little bland socially, but this is only because she doesn't have much experience with friends or other ponies. Anna can have a sense of humor sometimes, but others she can be a buzzkill. Another thing that shines through, is a bit of a snob, very rarely. This was inherited from her mother and her surroundings in the Belle family. 

 

Zeus is very quiet, much quieter then most babies, mellow, and very observant. He's intelligent and smart for his age, like his mother. Like any foal, he is very innocent, and is easy to please. Zeus is a momma's boy, and is very attached to Anna. All he wants to do is be a little angel for her, and he usually always is. But if he is in any harm he'll always cry out for her. Usually he never starts trouble, but is easily influenced, and sometimes his curiosity can get the best of him. He is young, and has a lot to learn, and to grow, so his personality is destined to change.

Backstory: Anna and Zeus both come from a pretty dramatic history. Once a beloved Professor in Canterlot's finest academy, Anna became pregnant with her son, had to give up the job, and move to Ponyville... alone. Zeus' father had left before he was born, ditching Anna and their struggled relationship while she was still pregnant. They lived peacefully there as well as simply, instead of in a once lavish existence Anna lived while growing up in her rich family, the Belle's. Zeus was given plenty of love and caring during his first few months of existence. Anna sometimes thinks about going back to Canterlot to take her job again, but doesn't want to have to deal with the painful memories it now brings to her. Currently she is struggling to make any friends, instead always caring for her baby, and staying home. When she got these letters and phone call, she decided that she would enjoy this vacation. She had little knowledge of all the ponies that were coming.

 

Arrival: Anna is quite excited. Like everypony, she knows how awesome Isle City is, and how hard it is to stay there. Though a family member owned a house down there she visited quite a few times, having her own home is extremely exciting. She is arriving in her SUV, after quite a long ride. Zeus has no idea what's going, but he can tell Anna is excited, so he is too.

Question; I see that you state that a character is approved as long as you remain within certain guidelines. The OC I'd likely end up using is a dominatrix. While I obviously would not go into detail regarding her profession, would just the profession enough constitute as being NSFW for you? Also, griffons and crystal ponies are acceptable, I assume? (In the case that I do not use aforementioned OC.) And what is your feeling on multiple characters?

Dominatrix: This is going to sound weird, but I really don't mind NSFW. I put that rule there because of site policies. As long as you don't get this roleplay shut down by mods, it's fine. Such a odd profession is actually wanted. I want to stir up drama because of something in the plot I don't exactly want to reveal yet. Her having this profession actually makes sense. Just remember there is a baby in the house too...

It gets confusing TO ME because I look at the avatar and link the character with the avatar in my mind.  Therefore I'm looking at a glasses guy and he says "x," but 2 posts later glasses guy says "-x."

Well, perhaps it would be less confusing if you read my posts in full, then? It's not like I'll never use names, hahaha.
