25 Year Annual Congress of the Alicorns!

The 25th year has arrived, and with it the annual Congress of Alicorns is to assemble to discuss world affairs, and introduce new Alicorns to one another. As always, the Congress will be held at the benevolent Prince Abyssal’s Tempest Palace in Cetaceana.

Stewards, advisers, retainers, and bodyguards are welcome, so long as they accompany their Alicorn.

 

Greetings commoners! I may not have been on the forums all that long, but I have realized that Alicorns aren’t particularly welcome in a lot of RPs. Not that that’s an issue or anything, they can be a little OP, but I still think there should still be some RPs to play around with. Thus, we have this, a trial to see if anyone is interested in RPing with Alicorns.

 

In this RP, each player will be able to play as two characters, a normal pony, and an Alicorn (or one or the other if they choose only one), along with a small retinue of background ponies to act as a group, or set pieces to compliment your character. (Ex: Prince Abyssal, his adviser Gold Fin, and six mare servants)

 

The only rules I have: Celestia and Luna are more powerful than anyone else (They can move a sun/moon respectively, those are kind of heavy as I understand it), and I’m afraid I will not be able to permit Alicorn avatars (ex: death, taking the form of an Alicorn, or some other creature merely mimicking an Alicorn). All characters must be of the pony species… or changeling queens/kings.

 

If anyone at all is interested, let me know here. Hopefully we can at least get a few people interested, and have a new outlet for magical demigods around here!

Why the hate for deathie-corn, my death alicorn is not some power mad tyrant, I don't get the hate, just seems that seeing as celestia and luna control the sun and moon, why wouldn't a alicorn control the harvest of souls, discord controls chaos, cadence controls love, hell even twilight spergle (yes I called her that) controls magic, how does one rule over magic??? Sorry don't mean to rant but you speak about how alicorns have problems within the roleplay community, but your singling out one of them, seems contradictory if you ask me, again sorry to rant, but if you could explain your reason for hating deathie-corn, I would appreciate it.

lol sry, i didn't mean it like that. I'm completely cool with an alicorn controlling death and/or the underworld, i imagine your correct when you explain it in such terms. What i was trying to explain, is that I don't know if I'm cool with a type of creature that merely takes the form of an alicorn or pony, but can decide to be whatever it wants to be, like an alien or an all powerful god. Does that make sense? In other words, if your species saes 'alicorn' than you're golden.

 

I guess you could equate it like this, you would be a master of death rather than the embodiment of it (Perception by the commonfolk is a completely different topic).

 

Were you interested in using the Prince Death?

It will depend on the turnout in general, but I will try to have at least either luna or celestia here.

Uh heh heh I might have over reacted there, but no prince death is a... I would say mistake but he wouldn't like that, let's just say he's a prototype, I'll be using death instead.

You know, I do actually want to join this roleplay. I mean a few more rules probably need to be set in place in order to have a proper good roleplay, but I made an OC just for this.

Of course you're welcome to join, but I've already established the rules as i consider them important. Feel free to offer suggestions and whatnot, but also understand I don't want much in the way of restrictions when it comes to this RP.

 

As for the marry/gary sue concern, that's the whole point of my rule of no all powerful gods up top. Other than that, this RP is for Kings/queens, prince/princess, demi-gods, and regulars alike.

 

I should add one more rule in hindsight though: events that are not explicitly under your control, the DM will decide the outcome of. For example, those effecting another player. (I'll update this in the initial post as well)

I would like to join in this! Question though: can my OC be recognized by Luna? Part of his backstory is that he collaborated with Luna at one point. It's fine if the answer is no, becyase another part of his story covers that option as well.

My OC is my avatar pic, and he's called 'War Prince Void' but he standardly goes by 'Warrior Void'. He has artificial wings, so he can't really fly, he can only glide. He does have a magic property allowing brief travel through the void for quick transport. Tell me what you think

PS: ED-E and Dark Void, Luna will be arriving in later posts, if you want to enter now as a sort of advance group, i would certainly not object. While Dark Void, I still don't quite know your character's history with Luna.
