Scootaloo and The Curse of Black Pollock's Treasure (an 8-bit fan)

Hey guys! I am doing a pony fan game! It's called Scootaloo and The Curse of Black Pollock's Treasure! 

 

 

Its got pirates, sea monsters, natural selection and stuff. It's done in an 8 bit art style in a similar vien to the original legend of zelda games. As its a my little pony game, its not really a fighting platformer, more of an avoid the enemies sort of thing (with the exception of boss fights). All the sea creatures you encounter are based on real creatures from the depths that I like ^_^

So this game is more of a 2-D walk-around game than anything else?  Wow...  Lack of combat in a game like that could be a frustrating feature, but it's also unique and could also go the other way and make it more engaging.  Are there traps or items you can use to slow enemies down to help to get away from them?

 

I wish I could volunteer to voice act, but I'm already tied up in quite a few projects.  Also, I'm not sure how well I'd do as a voice actor; the few times I've tried it in a few of my WoW vids...my performance didn't really sell it.

 

I have to say, I really like the concept of sea creatures as enemies; sea creatures are in general an under-represented part of the animal kingdom in most media; that's actually why Spongebob Squarepants was created.  (By the by, the real animal is named "Cuttlefish", but maybe you were aware of that and spelled it "cuddle" for a reason?)

I didn't want it to have violence as an option unless absolutely necessary, like the bosses that you can't escape from. I don't see Scootaloo attacking wild animals unless her life or anyone elses is in danger. Maybe if I go on to make a Dashie game there'll be more but kicking action XD

 

And yep, I know what a cuttlefish is ^_^ thanks for your input!

It looks really good. As for a game, the sprites are promising.

 

A little curiosity, will there be this character?

Thanks, and nope, no Tirek here I'm afraid. I've got a brand new villain names Star-Eater who should be even more terrifying but not as powerful.

Most enemies are quite slow, but there are certainly some challenges, the bobbit worms are a real pain, but its not quite impossible, and thank you :)
