What makes a true brony..........?

i dont think there is such a thing as a true brony, but mlp had effects on me. Im a nicer person now, and i try to keep the elements of narmony as alive as possible within me whenever i remember to do so (im not perfect, you see)

 

I expect a brony to be smart, caring, honest, loyal, cheerful and graceful and generous. Obviously its not about to happen. But i try to fit my description as much as i can.

Speaking as someone who recently got into the series myself, and who went to Brony Can, but didn't cosplay, I can tell you that there is a lot of enthusiasm for MLP:FiM in the Brony community. I can also tell you though that I never once felt unwelcome at Brony Can, and the atmosphere in this forum is similarly welcoming. Based on observation, as long as you have some interest in MLP:FiM, you're no less of a true Brony than someone who dresses up and flies out to every Brony con they can. There doesn't appear to be any elitism in this fanbase. Some people show their enthusiasm towards the series and franchise more openly than others, but they aren't condescending to newer or more casual fans. Quite the opposite, actually. If you've achieved fan status, you're not regarded as some peasant who has to work his or her way up the ranks of Bronydom, but an equal to share in the enjoyment of a series I'm assuming most people here have a mutual affinity for.

Like alot of others, i don't think there's a set definition, i guess the only real "qualification" is enjoying the show.

I wouldn't say there's such a thing. It's up to you wether or not you think you're a brony or not. Heck if you want to call yourself a true brony then go ahead. You decide how dedicated you are.

By being a fan of MLP:FiM you're a "true brony". Whether you like the TV show, produce and enjoy fan content, or both - it makes you a brony. Don't let anyone tell you you aren't a "true brony" for not doing certain things that other bronies do.

Well, do you identify yourself with the fandom? Do you like the ponies, be it ponies in fanfics or in animation? I think it's a lot simpler than that, really. Maybe you can enjoy the show without being a brony, because hey, it's a pretty darn good show, it has fantastic animation, writing and voicing. But, if you take your enjoyment to the show a step further...
