"Timberwolves..."

 

Blitz bonked her noggin a little with her right front hoof to try and categorise this. She still wasn't 100% after the hospital stay, so a tiny amount of things might slip here and there.

 

"Oh, Those. They don't seem to like a few things. Hold on a sec."

 

With that, she went into the hut and started to ruffle through a few crates, barrels and such, taking a little from some, putting some back whilst mumbling to herself, then eventually coming out with three things: A wooden grenade, a hooffull of oversized firecrackers in yellow, orange and red colours, and what looked like a pine cone half the size of her head with a rough looking wind up key in the bottom of it..

 

"I was testing the grenades the first time they got around, which they didn't like. The fire-crackers look a lot like fire when they go off, so that wasn't fun for the the second time. They stayed away after that. This one-"

 

She pointed towards the pine cone with the wind up key.

 

"- I haven't tested that much, but they don't seem to like sound and, uhm... Let's just say it's harder to make a music box than I thought.

 

Anyway, I have a few of each, except that one, I can bag them if you can wait a tiny bit?"

 

She looked up at Blizz after sending a odd glance towards the *pine cone*, awaiting what he's say.

John Smith? What a weird name, but eh, whatever. It fitted the rather unusual looking stallion to have a special name like that, so not like she had any reason to judge on this.

 

"Most 'round here seems to enjoy Sugarcube Corner. Follow."

 

With that, she turned and began to wander towards the bakery. There were a few other stands that sold apples and such, but considering the amount of ponies she had seen there last night, it was likely the best of the area. The increased population there might also mean somepony there knew who's house he had stumbled out of, or heck, someone there might Own said house. Plenty of reasons to head that way.

Blizzard was astounded, "Oooh, that stuff looks like fun! Sure I'll wait, but are you ok? I noticed you hit your head there and I was wondering do you have a headache? Do you need to lie down?" Blizzard was interested by the explosive stuff the filly had created but he started to wonder if there was anything wrong with her so he waited for an answer.

"Sugarcube Corner, huh?" Richard says, looking around as to where it might be. He noticed a building that almost looked to be a ginger bread house. 'That must be it,' he thought. 'I wonder if that thing is structurally sound, it looks like it might be a bit dangerous, it doesn't look like it has much support. There he went again, worrying. He'd been doing that a lot lately.

"The broken horn? It's nothing. Just a little too close to something new. I'm fine. Really."

 

Blitz had heard concerns over this a few times as it was. Mostly from Storm Shine, but really, it wasn't a problem. Sure, she couldn't use magic currently, but it grew slowly back, and she was fine otherwise, so just a small price to pay on the road of greatness. Or on the way to fireworks, whatever, still counted.

 

Blitz went in and started to put a few things down into a bag. It wasn't much, as she didn't have a saddlebag and without magic had to carry the bag with her mouth, but it would do the trick for playing a little with the wolves. She made sure to keep the *pine cone* on top though. She was not eager to have that go off on accident. Not again.

 

After a bit, she stood in front of Blizz again, bag in her mouth and looked up at him with big eyes.

When they got there, there was as expected, a line towards the disk. She placed herself in the back and looked over towards John, making sure he hadn't wandered off.

 

"Might be a bit of time until we get to the desk, but it seemed to be worth it yesterday."

 

Last was still wondering what to think of the whole situation. John had come out of a house he didn't even know who owned, yet he didn't seemed like he had nicked anything, unless the sunglasses was in there and that seemed silly to break in for. Was he drunk then? Likely, but who would have taken a drunk stallion with them and then just left him behind? It didn't make much sense.

 

Bah, mattered little she supposed. If there was anything to learn, she would perhaps learn more eventually. Speculation didn't get her long.

Blizzard thought to himself, "It's amazing how somepony so adorable can be so....explosive!" Then he spoke aloud, "Ok I'm ready to go whenever you are. Let's get 'em!" Blizzard was excited, "Finally some action!" he thought. He was eager to see exactly how the little filly could handle herself in battle.

Looking at the line, it vaguely reminded him of the previous night. The club he went to had an insanely long line.

'Well, I know wherever I went was popular, but I still can't remember the name...' Richard thought.

"I sure hope so, I've been to a lot of places with long lines and bad food, and that's not an experience I'd like to go through again," he said to Last Stand.

'Maybe I could find something out here,' he thought.

Blitz boom nodded, then went to the side of Blizz to show that she was ready to go out and play with the tree wolves.

 

It had been a while since they had been near, and while she did find some shed bark from them at times it was a good deal away from her hut generally speaking, which really was a pity. Not only because it had been fun to see them try and get her when she was testing a few fireworks, but also because it meant she had to get a good deal of way to get said bark. It really made for too good material to not take advantage off, and they had dropped a little before when they got scared.

 

Sure, she could likely get more if she tried to hit them, but why would she want to do that? It could really end up hurting them, and she wasn't going to go that route if she could help it. She might make things that could end up levelling half of Ponyville, but that didn't mean she wanted her things to be used to hurt anyone or anything.

"If this place had been bad, I wouldn't waste the time either."

 

Last wasn't picky. Growing up in a secluded area with mostly a battle oriented upbringing and life didn't leave much room for gourmet ponies to get things going where they were, and she had gotten used to eating what had been available, which at times had bordered on inedible.

 

That being said, she wasn't in a position where it was *Eat or go hungry* anymore. Since her duty had ended - along with anypony elses there - she had been able to get around and was now in a place where there were options. If the baked goods where bad, there were vendors, a farm, the forest if nothing else. Basically, there was a buffet to pick from, and that did mean she could skip over what didn't get to her taste.

 

But from yesterday, she would say that the taste made this place worth coming back to, and when faced with finding a place for somepony's grumbling stomach, there hadn't been a more obvious choice in her mind even if she had seen the vendors with less of a line outside.

 

She did wonder though if Pinkie Pie was at the desk today or not. She couldn't see yet, but the line should soon be near enough so that she could get a glimpse.

Blizzard was trotting when a surprise timberwolf came out of nowhere then an entire pack of them appeared, "Ok kid I found some bad guys get ready, let's go!" Blizzard then starts to punch and kick his way through them, and freezing them on occasion. "Let's see what you gut there kid!"

Pinkie was indeed at the counter of Sugarcube Corner, serving ponies their baked treats with her usual amount of friendliness, energy, and enthusiasm. Storm was in a seat off to the side, eating a wonderful pile of muffins as his marefriend worked the register.

 

"Next!" She called happily as another pony trotted away, their order wrapped in a telekinetic aura.

Blitz mostly just looked with big eyes when Blizz started to use ice ont he pack. It was a rather weird sight since he didn't have a horn... But then again, she hadn't seen any on the hat pony that had been there some time before so... Perhaps it was common and she just didn't know? Had to be checked later for sure.

 

The pack had a good deal of chances going for her, but considering past experiences, even their primal brains kept them at a little space away from her and instead focused on the pony that was actually hurting them.

 

A few got frisky and got near though once Blitz started to rummage through the bag and a low sizzling sound went around, and it was around that point that Blitz turned around with a big grin plastered on her face towards the two, not fazed by the sharp toothed beasts, and with a lit firecracker between her teeth.

 

She wouldn't do something like this with untested stuff, but she knew how this worked, which also meant she knew when the fuse was short enough, and a few hooves away from the pair taking her into their maws, she spat it at them and enjoyed the show.

 

*The show* in this case, considered of the fuse going down, cracking open, and the explosive concoction inside take it's effect as the glittery, cracking inside burst and a rather realistic looking pyre broke out from it and licked towards the sky. It was harmless, sure, but unless you knew that, it would look, sound and feel like an actual, three times her size pyre roaring near you, and as suspected, the wolves weren't much for playing with That. Them being rather flammable and all, it wasn't that big of a surprise really.

 

While they were jumping slightly backwards, Blitz got the hold of one of the grenades from the bag and held it between her teeth with the happy, *You want to play with me?* foalish attitude she had before this. At her hooves, two pieces of flint she used to light fuses with these days (cause of the broken horn) was sitting ready for use, likely on the quite a bit more harmful thing she was trotting around with now.

Finally being their turn, Last went first up and nodded at Pinkie, then towards Storm sitting a little away enjoying his Mount Everest of baked goods.

 

"Mornin'. Got any lemon cupcakes left? Could use something with a bite to it."

 

Considering there was others in line, she figured she would wait until it died out a bit to ask how things had gone after her, Storm, Ziggy and the cake twins had gone off last night to upstairs and she had gone out into the woods. Considering further that John had sounded hungry, it was probably the best, for now anyway.

Pinkie giggled, "Sure do!" She replied, producing a steaming fresh tray of Lemon Cupcakes. "Lemon muffins on the other hoof..." Pinkie shook her head with a smile, "Stormy bought out all of those and gave half to Derpy." She told Last, pointing towards her muffin-loving coltfriend.

Blizzard was engaged in heavy fighting, "Wow! Hiya! Nice moves kid! *kick kick* You could easily be an asset in Equestrian warfare. Chill out fools! *Freezes 3 TWs* Shattering Drop Kick!" He perfomed a drop kick on them and they broke to pieces, "Here come more kid! What else ya got?"

Blitz wandered over to one of the shattered pieces of wolf and poked to it with her hoof before turning over to the bag, putting down the grenade and pulling out the *pine cone* instead. It was already spun up, so all she had to do was to pull out the key, toss it and cover her ears, although for good measure she did give a warning.

 

"Cover your ears!."

 

With that she yanked it, tossed it, and kept her head to the ground with her hooves over her ears as the contraption bounced, settled down, and then opened the scales.

 

The way it had been supposed to work were that a symphony of tunes had to get out at that stage, but instead, her inability to produce the music along with likely a few wrong implementations here and there had left this to instead burst open into a minor pulse wave accompanied by a screeching, teeth-grinding assault of a noise. Three waves like this would burst from it before it was done, and in that time, the wolves should have run off, like the last time she had tried to use it near them.

 

She hadn't planned to use it this fast, but as the wolves had been smashed to pieces she had to so the poor things could get away. They had as much right to live here as anypony or anything else after all without having to be smashed to bits. Sure, they were violent and stuff, but three of them broken apart should be enough to teach them a lesson for now.

 

Also, there was the whole thing with the pieces mashing up to become a bigger wolf if there got enough loose pieces around, and that wouldn't be fun for anypony. Best to stop it here before it got to that point she'd think.

"I can't say I'm surprised."

 

Pinkie's coltfriend really were a bit of a muffin hoarder it looked like, so it was fortunate that she hadn't been after one of those this morning. It did make her wonder a bit where he put all of those things, as he didn't look particularly pudgy or anything, but perhaps he just kept active enough to balance things out. The sugar high would likely help some with that from the looks of things, but who was she to judge? Whatever worked for him after all.

 

Last asked for two cupcakes, paid for the freshly baked ones Pinkie had taken out and wandered over to a table a short walk from where she was now, where she would be able to eat these and still keep an eye on all of the ponies she would need to. Well, that and see if Storm would start diving into Mount Muffin, but that was more of a question about being curious about how far he might go than anything concerning.

Blizzard covered his ears as the filly used her explosives, "Wow! That's amazing! This kid really knows how to make a boom!", he thought. Then he spoke aloud, "Amazing job there kid! See? Isn't fighting and engaging in combat so much fun?! I mean im my opinion, it doesn't get more fun than beating the tar out of evil! What's your everyday idea of fun, kid?" He said as he punched another wolf.

Seemed like a few of the wolves hadn't packed it during the sonic blast, perhaps too focused on Blizz? She could study it, but behavioural science wasn't her shtick, so... She'd just tack it up to weird things and move on.

 

"Wolfies aren't evil unless they hurt somepony, but they're fun to play with."

 

To be on the safe side, she kept a grenade with her as she moved around and picked up stray pieces of bark that had fallen from timberwolves that wasn't frozen solid. Those pieces weren't likely to get going and rejoining the wooden creatures again as it was, but the one she was picking up might if she didn't get a few pieces picked up here and there before it would all be over.

 

"And fun is making new things. Booms or not, it's fun to experiment, test, fix and then finally, use. Long as I don't test stuff in town. The mayor told me not to do that again."

 

She still thought the mayor was overreacting on things. Her and Storm had cleaned up that one time, and with the accident before that, the singe on the nearby walls were easily handled by a layer of paint. It wasn't like she had set any fires in town, Or well, not any Serious fires, and nothing on purpose at least.

With the wolves apparently gone now, she let go off the grenade (Carefully!) and gave a great big grin to the frozen earth pony. It had been a bit of fun, and she had gotten the hold of new things to use as materials, so a good day so far really. Although...

 

She looked around when Blizz left, making sure nopony else was there that she could see before sticking her tongue out and lick the frozen chunk of ice around the piece of timberwolf stuck inside. There wasn't really a good reason for this other than she wanted to try what it was like, especially since she hadn't seen ice in the forest since... Well, Ever, really. SHe hadn't been here during the winter months far as she knew, so this was as close to a wintery feel she was going to have for now.

 

Giggling slightly at the feeling of the cold ice against her tongue, she started to get the rest of the things she had with her and was going back with sorted, including the ice. Not likely it would last for that long, bu she'd be damned if she wasn't taking it with her anyway.

Blizzard left the forest and was heading back to town, "Weird kid. She lives on her own, is crazy about explosives, and loves to blow stuff up? Weird. Cool but still kinda weird. Oh well, Equestria is filled with ponies of all kinds, so I can't reall complain."

The sound of something falling down was heard above Blizz head. If he was to look up, he would see a pony going at great speed towards him, fumbling a little through the air before, a few metres before hitting, vanished into a zig-zagging line that headed down and stopped right next to him.

 

"Phew, that was close."

 

In place was the pony that had fallen down. A big, white with pink zebra-stripes mare, standing at an easy head or more above him. She was wearing a 6 pocket pink vest, and on the top of each of her legs was three pink rings, around her neck a pink, pearl necklace was hanging and on the smiling face was a pair of pink frames for glasses. The mane and tail of the mare was a little unkempt after the fall, but both looked like they carried the general style of windblown.

 

She shook her head a bit and looked up, then over to the icy pony she had just noticed was next to her and looked down on him with an impish grin and big, pink eyes.

 

"Skies. Comfy and nice, good for a napping, but can be hard flapping, when you roll off asleep, and almost lands in a heap."

 

Ziggy giggled a little. It was a bit bad at times to fall from the skies, but to be fair, it had been mighty fun, and she was certainly awake now, that was for sure. Which was a good thing really, or this little fellah might've ended up getting a rather harsh start to his day.

Blizzard was confused, "Woah, uh, hi. I'm Ice Blizzard, who are you? Are you ok? That was an awesome yet nasty fall there. Anything broken?" Blizzard was astonished by the pony who had landed Rainbow Dash-style next to him. He knew not everypony was as tough as Rainbow Dash herself, and that somepony taking a fall like that could be hurt really bad.

"I'm totally fine. Got control over things before I hit the ground, and I'm not as clumsy as I might look."

 

Like a flash, she suddenly stood besides the pony and poked him slightly in the side with her left front leg.

 

"3 seconds more though, and the ground would've gotten a funny mark."

 

With the same speed, she stood in front of the pony again, leaning her head slightly downwards and giving him a smile the stretched from ear to ear.

 

"I'm Doz Zinger, but everypony just calls me Ziggy. Nice to almost drop unto you Ice Blizzard."

Blizzard was amazed to see somepony other than Rainbow Dash come out unscathed from a crash landing, "Wow! You must be pretty tough! I never though anypony other than Rainbow Dash could handle such a fall. You're amazing! Say, what exactly were you doing up there to make you crash anyway?"

Ziggy scratched her head, looking a little sheepishly when she was asked what had happened.

 

"I was taking a nap on a cloud and... Well, I sorta have a habit of moving in my sleep, so I fell over the edge."

 

She put her hoof down again and cleared her throat, looking smily and happy again afterwards.

 

"But eh, didn't hit the ground at least this time, so all good. Must've looked a bit dodgy I guess, but that's just my way. I don't go straight, I zig-"

 

Ziggy spread her large wings, got a little into the air then began her zig-zaggy, uneven pattern flying around Blizzard for a few seconds before landing where she had been just before. Or well, almost, she was a hoof further and had her head lowered so that she was only a few inches from Blizzards face, looking at him with her ol' impish grin.

 

"And I zag. Ooooh, but enough about that, Did you talk to yourself before I almost hit you? I could swear I heard something not swooshy. Wanna tell?"

 

Personal space was something she should perhaps read up on considering how close she was standing to him, but eh, she wasn't touching him, so was it really that bad? After all, most she just straight out tackle-hugged for the fun of it.

Blizzard felt a bit uncomfortable, but it was nothing different since he had met Pinkie Pie, who didn't know what personal space was either, "Well, ahem, I am an Earth pony that can control ice. Allow me to show ya!" He then begins to skate around on ice and in midair he comes back to Ziggy and says, "Pretty cool right? Get it cool? Because ice? But yeah, unfortunately, if I overuse my powers, I get tired, and if I feel too much internal heat from, excitement, embarrassment, or...*begins to blush a little* if I lose my focus because of somepony I have a crush on..." *Looks dreamily in the direction of Carousel Boutique* "*sigh*"

Storm burped before getting out a small 'excuse me' and happily patting his stomach, "Nothing like a pile of muffins to fill your tummy!" He commented to himself with a big grin and closed eyes, the entire pile of muffins on the tablet having disappeared.
