Video Editing on a Budget?

What would you recommend to someone who's looking for some cheap simple video editing software that can still produce a nice finished product. I'm looking to get into making youtube videos, and though they will be more informational and not need any fancy effects and whatnot, I of course still need some means of editing.

Thanks in advance :D

Simple and free way to start and get some practice. Assuming you have a windows PC, you can download (if its not already there) Windows Movie Maker. Not the best, but its free and in my opinion, good for beginners. (check out the channel in my sig for some examples of simple movie maker projects)

and if you're on a Mac, sorry, i don't do those, lol

I am on a mac >_<

I've been thinking of installing something like bootcamp to run windows-only programs though, so I'll keep movie maker in mind. I don't know how it compares to iMovie, which I used to have and use a bit before my hard drive crashed, but I'll keep that in mind. Thanks :)

Actually, I've heard that iMovie itself is pretty good! I'm on Windows, though, so I don't have direct evidence of this.

If you're going this route, I'd highly recommend this one. It's what I use, it's under $50, and Vegas has a very intuitive interface.

Sony Movie Studio is only 60 US Dollars. I'm not too sure, but even Linux could probably run it. (If not, then just emulate it.) I use it all the time to make YouTube Poops, which need lots of good editing skills and software. (Check my channel!)

Although, it's recommended for higher end CPUs and video cards.

Linux has amazing free software out there, Openshot, Cinelarra, and my personal favorite, Blender. I don't have much experience with WINE, but if you don't like those, you could emulate windows software using WINE....

Not sure about a Mac...I am not familiar with its OS since a Mac is way out of my league $$$ wise.

I've been using AppGeeker Video Editor http://www.appgeeker.com and I can say that it's an intuitive and powerful tool.

It has everything you need, you may give it a try.
