We saw Fluttershy at the Grand Galloping Gala.  We were all terroized by "Lesson Zero" Twilight Sparkle.  Those of us not traumatized and haven't repressed "Party Of One" all remember crazy Pinkie.  So, that's half the mane six to completely lose it.  Who will be next?

Rarity had Inspiration Manifestation, but that could be written off as magically induced, so it might not count. Applejack... sorta did with Someone To Watch Over Me, because I'm having trouble with her behavior *not* being a psychotic break of some sort.

 

So honestly, I'd say Rainbow Dash is due.

Yeah but Rainbow, Apple Jack, and Rarity thus far have had breakdowns.  Not total psychotic freakouts where they become dangerous to themselves and others.

I'm not sure I agree that none of Rarity's meltdowns count, but I'm sure she'll have a moment fans universally accept as psychotic at some point. Applejack has also become unhinged at times, and so had Rainbowdash, but even if you want to split hairs, they too should have a moment everyone accepts as such.

The only character who hasn't had a mental breakdown of some sort is Spike, and I'm not really sure how they could make that entertaining, I just don't think Spike is that funny so I don't think it would be that funny to watch him have a mental breakdown.

I think they usually push the greed angle on that one. There was the time in season 2 when he turned into a total kleptomaniac, and eventually transformed into a fully grown dragon. That was a bit of a mental breakdown, though maybe not a freak out in the sense of this thread.

 

Actually, thinking back about Applejack's psychotic moments, I think there have been a couple. Sure, she hasn't outwardly displayed craziness, but moving away and refusing to come back, or even see her friends, all because she didn't win first place in a competition isn't exactly logical, nor is cancelling her pie delivery to turn into an overbearing Simpsons character just because Applebloom was on her own.

All of the mane six have lost it in one time or another, whether its over the top or more subtle. Personally I think it would be interesting if Celestia snapped, it could give more insight to her character.
