gaming Are you a Spyro the Dragon fan?

YES! I'm a big fan of the series, they're still some of the best platformers around. The Skylanders thing ruined his image which i'm not happy about. I wanted to see the series continue by Insomniac Games as when i got Enter the Dragonfly and the games after that were not nearly as good as Spyro 1-3. I wish Sony/Insomniac still owned it because it would be amazing on PS4 and Activision is doing nothing with him.

Sony Computer Entertainment still own the rights to the first three games. They should do a complete remake of the original trilogy for PS4 and i'll get it straight away even though i still own the originals.

I would really love to get back into Spyro, since i played Part 1 and 3 in my childhood and i really liked those Games.  :pinkie:

But the problem is, that for some reason, the games got so expensive...almost 25-30 dollars for every single Playstation 1 Game of Spyro...

And thats a little bit much in my opinion...

Spyro was one of the core franchises of my childhood, one of the first ever series that got me into gaming as a whole. They're beautiful memories that will remain with me the rest of my life. :D Going through them as a child, being amazed at the levels, the art design, the vastness of the world. I remember getting to the second hub world of the first game and just being in awe of how different everything was from the first, and such as it was for every hub world of the game. They had no shortage of creativity.

But by far the most excellent part of the games that still remain with me to this day is the soundtrack. Stewart Copeland did an absolutely stellar job with the composition of the tracks and utilizing the arguably limited sound technology of the PS1 to its maximum. They're not epic orchestral pieces like some other AAA titles at the time were experimenting with, but what you get is instead simplicity that still creates a wonderful atmospheric experience for each and every level. :) Take a listen for yourself!

So yes, Spyro holds a special place in my heart, at least in his original Insomniac form. While I did enjoy the Legend of Spyro series somewhat, it just didn't have the same magic or inspiration as what came before it. Plus I wasn't overly fond of Elijah Wood's interpretation of the character, felt awfully phoned-in.

And Skylanders? Well.. we all have our opinions. :unamused:

Oh, and then there's this. The years haven't been so kind to him, but he's hanging in there!

I love Spyro!  The old Spyro anyway.  It's one of the games I grew up with, particularly the first 3 games stick out.  I played the 4th one but don't remember much of it.  It's so nostalgic when I play it now.  :D
