FIMfiction contact method?

I noticed we don't seem to have a FIMfiction contact method button. Would it affect the rules to implement one since there is a distinguishable relation between the two? There is an option on the FIMfiction website itself for linking to MLPforums so I figured I would suggest one since there are fan-fiction topics here and it seems like a great way to tie them together.

If I don't remember badly,IPB doesn't allow custom field titles(like FimFiction,per example) without major tweaking,so,for now,you can use the Website URL box that appears by defect,or your About Me

Oh I see. I'm not much of a tech guy, but I was assuming it to be a simple process. I had thought about putting it on my about me but I figured I would start a topic since I didn't see one. Thanks.

Actually, modifying the profile with a custom field for FiMFiction accounts is a good suggestion, and easily implementable. The only time we pause when considering custom fields is usually centered around clutter or whether it adds enough value to warrant adding another data point. Now that Poniverse has our own FiMFic group ... this sounds like something we should consider.

I agree with this. If we have an official presence on a site like FiMFiction that allows user accounts, we should probably have the ability to link to it in the profile.

Added. FIMFiction's a big part of the fandom, so I'm sure writers will find it useful.

Actually, custom field titles are easily created, but only by admins. The only time this becomes a problem is when we want members to personalize their own fields.

 

EDIT: Also added the ability to link directly to the FIMFic profile, given a username.
