Goldseek brought his hoof up to cover his face from the dirt being flung everywhere, then walked away, searching for food, water and a disguise for their tunnel. He started by searching the trees for fruit, and found a few apples, but not enough to last very long. He didn't even know if Diamond Dogs ate apples. Still, for now it would be fine. He was completely lost on how to get water. He had heard that water can sometimes be found underground, and decided that he would ask Scurry about it later. So now, he decided to focus on a disguise. A simple weave of sticks and leaves would probably work. Goldseek got to work, collecting from the trees.

In twenty minutes or so, Scurry had managed to dig a hole about ten feet deep and maybe half as wide. He was only just getting started. Somehow, digging like this made him feel more at home. It was nice, given how terrible everything else was at the moment.

He had finally built the courage to announce hs thoughts.*"This seems suspiscious, those ropes weren't very difficult to break, and if these ponies wanted to do a job right, they wouldn't have used such weak rope. "I don't know. Considering the fact that they are selling slaves, and other things of an..." He says as his gaze turns more to the piles of assorted drugs that the captive he's freeing. "...illegal nature, I can't imagine them being entirely keen on spending money on high quality materials." He then notices a shadow coming around the corner behind Pulsar, just as he finishes freeing him. "Shit, keep your forehooves behind you. I'll call him over here then you gag him with the ropes, and I'll keep him restrained. We can grab a key from him and get the hell out. You wanna get out right? See your family? Ponies who love you? Then we've gotta be a little brave, okay."

 

The pirate turns the corner, and is just making his rounds. "Hey, can I get a bite or something, useless." Nightlife says to him.

 

The pirate picks up a rapid pace toward the cell. "The fuck did you say to me?" He says as he prepares to beat the mouthy stallion.

 

"Now." Night says as he grabs the pirate by the head and wedges it between the bars of the cell, awaiting Pulsar to take action.

The cell, as the pony who had just been thrown unceremoniously into it may have noticed, was not as of yet uninhabited. There was already somepony in it. Her slight figure stirred feebly in the corner as her new cellmate started clattering about. Eventually she pushed herself up, eyes a little out of focus, an inhibitor ring chilling on the horn that poked out from the tangle of sloppy hair. 

 

"I hup yoore nut gunna try to magik yerself out," she said, her speech slurred, her new cellmate coming into focus slowly. "Ya try n'fight, and they beat ya and drug ya. Dun fink I could magik anyfing even if this thing wadden't on, and i 'ad anything werth magikin'."

 

She felt naked without her rose behind her ear. But they'd taken even that, regardless of how many of them she'd hurt with it as her weapon. She was a harmless butterfly right now.

Indicus looked at the mare that just woke up, her mane and tail were a mess, and she obviously was drugged. He nodded and said, "I'm not gonna try yet too tired. Anyway I'll play thier game for a bit longer, then I can get us out once they are much less weary of me." Indicus added not bothering to get her name seeing it as pointless to gain any familiarity. That last bit he added thinking about the other part of the contract to rescue those he could. He was surprised the pirates did not try anything with her yet. But he did not ask.

Goldseek came back to find a well sized hole, about three metres deep. He was amazed that Scurry was able to dig so much so fast, without any tools or anything. It really was quite extraordinary. He placed the weave outside the hole. "Hey. I got most of what we need. Couldn't find water though. You got any ideas on how?"

Scurry's head popped up over the edge of the hole. "Look for streams, maybe? Maybe when I dig more tunnels, I get lucky. Find water underground. But I need to finish here first. So look for streams. Or collect rain."  He looked up at the sky. "It's not raining, though. So don't try that." He went back down to return to digging.

*Quantum jumped up and grabbed the rope, He coiled an end around each hoof, and, seeing that the pirate was about to break free, abandoned the motive of gagging him, and was forced to garotte him with the rope. The pirate began to choke, as his life began to slip.*"We can't kill him! What do we do?"

Night stomped the pirates head in the attempt to simply incapacitate him. He thought he had succeeded for a moment, until the pirate slumped, eyes wide open, and droplets of blood running down his head. He gasped. "Shit..." he whispered having a miniature panic attack. Night was freaking out, shaking even. He grabbed the pirates keys and opened the gate. He frantically looked left and right, and just sort of went quiet, as he ran through the darkness of of the moonlight, and took cover behind a rock, quite a fair distance away from the cell.

*Quantum heard galloping. It was too late to run, so he remained sat, rope in hand. A pirate stared into the cell, seeing the pirate wedged between the bars*
 "Which way did your friend go."Inquired the pirate with prevailing hostility.
*Quantum began to shiver and hyperventillate. He backed into a corner.*
"WHICH WAY DID HE GO."
*The pirate effortlessly seized the rope and brought it around Quantum's neck.*
*Quantum began to cry*
"Last chance, unicorn"
*The rope began to tighten. It wasn't in Quantum's nature, or even skillset, to fight. He accepted it. He was going to be asphyxiated.*

"Piss poor luck and overworking myself, the captains elite guard ambushed me and I was too tired too fight" Indicus did not tell anymore not wanting to risk losing a potential ally because she was scared of ponies that killed ponies for a paycheck. He always kept in mind that most ponies had an aversion to killing.

Evergreen lifted her head from the ragged blanket she had been resting on. Although she was blinking sleepily, her eyes came into focus more quickly as they focused on her collapsed abuser. "Would you look at that?" She murmured. 

 

She pulled herself to her feet. She still looked pretty tired and unsteady on her hooves, but that seemed to be the only sign she still had drugs in her system. 

 

There sounded like there was a commotion farther over in the dark room full of cages. Eve shrugged it off. Not their problem. In fact, if whatever was going on over there distracted the pirates from her and her cellmate's escape, that was all the better. ((@,@@Mephisto))

 

She nudged the pirate on the ground out of the way, and stepped out of the cell, closing it behind her and her cellmate, leaving the dead guy inside. "After you," she said.

Night looked on for a few moments, watching the pirate attack his (ex)cellmate. He had killed someone, and that blood could never be washed off. He was well enough hidden, but as his heart raced and vision focused, he knew he was having an adrenal rush. Though, for some odd reason, the words of a stallion from far into the past echoed through out his mind. "Any lesser evil, can and should be used to fight a greater evil." He whispered it under his breath. He wasn't just gonna sit there and let somepony innocent die. "I've done something stupid, time to do something crazy."

 

He hopped over the rock and barreled, full speed and tackled the pirate struggling with Quantum. He threw him to the ground and pounced on him once more, grabbing his knife and making an attempt to stab him. The pirate held him back for a few moments, begging for his life. "Please no. Think about what you're doing. Don't kill me, I'll do anything." 

 

Night simply smacked his hooves and stabbed him through the neck. "You wouldn't give us the same mercy. Why should I?" He withdrew the blade and resolved to keep it for later. He turned to Quantum and stood him up. Only to punch him in the face. 

 

"Wake up! We are getting out of here together. Now keep up with me!"

*Quantum briefly collapsed, before standing up with questionable stability. He wiped the fresh blood from his muzzle, before sighing. He knew better than to retaliate, his attacker was obviously three or four times his strength, he had also just saved his life afterall. Quantum trotted slowly and quietly, without conscious intention. He was too shocked by everything that had occured in the last 10 minutes, to decide which emotion to convey. So he remained emotionally sterile. He calmly followed the stallion.

"Don't mention it. We aren't out of here yet. These guys aren't taking us prisoner anymore, so you'll either have to fight..." He stops and turns. "..with me or die alone. I didn't want to kill anyone. As they say, in for a penny in for a pound." He continued to strafe through cover to cover. Trying to use the dark he was so accustomed to as an advantage. He dove under a hole in the foundation of a house. He kept crawling though through the mud. Almost to his fake sense of 'freedom' He decided to stop for a breath, judging this to be the safest spot.

*Quantum stopped following remembering the other prisoners. But he was powerless without help, and he needed the keys. He crawled under the foundations with his affiliate.*"Are we going back to help the others? You took that... "*His eyes twitched in agonising remembrance*" ...Dead pirates keys right? We need to go back. They could help us escape. We can't just leave them anyway, especially if we're in a position to help."*He looked to the befriended pony desperately.

Eve held up the dagger, a look of distaste on her face as she beheld the weapon, but took it anyway. Her magic wasn't working right now and she needed something to defend herself with. 

She searched the dead pirate again, just to check. A length of rope and a slightly crowded keyring that was about it. Shame, she'd hoped to find her crystal rose, but that was probably locked up in their treasure chest or something. The rope could come in handy though, so she grabbed it, as well as the keys. They all looked the same, she doubted they would open anything but the other cages. 

 

Following Indicus out of the cell, she noticed how quiet it was. Almost repressingly quiet. It didn't sound like there any pirates in the base at the moment, oddly enough. Getting out would probably be easy.

 

Locking the cell behind them, Eve started sneaking up the hall of cages to her left. She'd seen guards leaving the room that way and was pretty sure it lead to the outside.

Night thought for a moment. "That would get both them and us killed. They will obviously be here a while considering most of them were brought in same time as us." Night didn't like playing judge for the possible hundreds of other prisoners within the compound. "We can get the rest of them later when we are better equipped.... Or maybe even get help." All Night was worried about for now was getting the 2 of them out alive. He peaked under the building they were taking cover under, and could see it. A waterfall, running out whatever hydration system the pirates needed. He didn't relish the idea of swimming in it, but then again, neither did he the idea of being some weird foreign guys bitch.

 

Unfortunately, the fall was a long way away, and he could see a lot of pirates in between them and there. Night wiped a little mud off of his glasses. "Shit, I guess we gotta be a little smart from here on out."

Indicus decided to follow the made on this one figuring she saw more thanks he did when it came to entrances and exits, sure enough a doorway happened to be there, on the left. He entered it carefully sneaking out not wanting to attract attention he also pirioticlly checked to see that the mare was nearby and okay.

Goldseek nodded and left the hole again, looking for water. He wandered for a while, keeping note of where he came from so he could get back the same way. He looked over a rock, and quickly ducked down, realizing where he was. He had doubled around to where the pirates were. He almost turned back, but noticed a pirate walking around with a bucket water. A perfect opportunity like this was to good to waste. He threw a rock at the pirate, hitting him right in one of his hind legs. He placed down the water and looked around, confused. He walked towards where Goldseek was, and Goldseek snuck behind him, running to the bucket and running off again, trying to keep quiet and not to lose any water. Somehow, he managed without being seen, but lost quite a bit of water in the process. He headed back to base, deciding not to do anything so risky anymore, at least for a while.
