I have a policy about robotics-technology in general. Don't do it. Just don't. Throw the advanced technology away before it develops AI, and pray to whatever god you believe in that it doesn't crawl out of the trash and lob your head off with a newly attached scythe-arm. Seriously. Computers are fine-Lets just not get any further than that, okay guys? Biotech is even worse. Androids with human intelligence and emotions? Run for the hills humanity just created their successor.

 

Robots are bad news. Any sort of technological advancement past the point we are already at will no matter what, inevitably lead to the fall of the human empire.

 

But I mean, an android-life-like pony? I would love the shit out of it until it killed me. But it would be worth it. Getting killed by a angry robo-pony. Sweet.

I like this topic, there is a lot of thing in it. 

It is a good way to kick in a "pony on earth" story. Because, basically you have two choice with this; either they are aliens/sliders/time travelers etc, here, or we create them. The last fanfiction I read on this topic was the 'Broken Toy'. That was interesting.

Mandatory theme of these fics is these ponies and other robots are treated like objects and that bad, and they are just thrown away like a discarded bottle. Where I live the too much animal is already a problem, they cannot deal with them, now, on top of that we add mass-produced toys to this, not too mention over-population, so by this the most irrational step would be selling androids, or built them in mass. (except they are actually not more then 'tools', otherwise if you see them as 'other persons' then you are actually at where you started.) 

But let's get back to ponies.   I could discuss this all day.

If we handle this question playfully than HACK YEAH! I would buy a ponybot. Or Two, not to be lonely when I am not home. ( Or who knows, maybe my work place would allow me to take it in, as personal interface.)

Let's say, they would be totally built to be a friendly, whimsical creature, who would not want one from here.
