Yes I do, I think Attack on Titan is very overrated. I do not like Attack on Titan because it's mostly filler and I don't care about the characters. If you enjoy it good for you I just don't.

From an entertainment aspect I love Attack on Titan. The animation is great, character development is great, and the ability to make me watch episode after episode is crazy.

 

I can't say I've read any manga from the series, so it doesn't bother me that they may be filler episodes.

It's not overrated at this point. It used to be but it's hardly talked about anymore. Plus there are more overrated animes like Soul Eater, Madoka Magica, Dragon Ball, and so on. I love Madoka and Soul Eater but I hear more about them than AOT.

 

AOT still has the best looking animation in anime, at least for the time it's taking place anyway. Plus, it has great characters and an average storyline. Then again I'm typing this while wearing an AOT winter jacket so I'm biased as all hell.

deffinetly, they re-use animation way to much and the characters are cardboard cut-outs of stereotypical anime characters. the heroic leader, the shy friend who makes the plans, the tragic backstory person who loves the hero, badass who dosn't talk, on and on

keep in mind I've only seen the first season, so if they improved in season 2 I might give another shot. also it has one of my favourite theme songs period and the fight scenes are pretty cool the first few times you see them.

The only time I ever think something is overrated (and alternatively underrated) is when it's put so high on a pedestal that people believe it will always be at the top.

 

I haven't even seen Attack On Titan but I'm willing to bet that it's just one of the good ones for the season so people make a bigger deal about it for that reason alone. It's also impossible to judge a series that's not even finished yet.

I don't think it's overrated.  It deserves all the love it gets.

 

The animation itself is amazing, and I love all the characters.

 

It's actually my favorite anime.  Throughout my time watching it, I would say "only one episode a day!" but ended up watching half the season in two nights.

 

I just love it!

It seems people tend to twist the meaning of this word far too often. Just because something becomes popular and is talked about a lot doesn't mean it automatically becomes overrated.

 

Nevertheless, after seeing S01 (miracle, one of... hm... maybe 4-5 animes I've ever watched) I am prone to say "Yes". For the time being it had nothing that would surprise me. It's predictable; the characters are a bland; there's a chance of doom coming at any day, but it's not coming because "reasons"...?; and I cannot shake the feeling it's being driven on the Deus Ex Machina principle. Even if the idea is interesting, the execution for the time being is terrible.

 

Do keep in mind though, I am only talking about anime here. Didn't see the manga.

yeah. I'd say it's a little overrated, but as far as overrated animes go, it's at a pretty low tier. nothing compared to Naruto or Bleach.

 

I remember back in high school there would be all these people wearing naruto headbands claiming there the biggest of anime fans, when a huge percentage of them didn't even know what the heck Neon Genesis was

aot is ok is you ask me,  now the style is nice

and the fighit scenes had a good edge to them

but at times,  some of the main cannons felt blank

as a white wall,  and I think the anime could have

done better if it had been longer,  now the manga

gets interesting as the chaps go along...
