Well that's a new kind of stuff for me, I've studied only to use all kinds of hand guns , so even if I don't know what that is, you can explain to me the size, the power, and the range of the blast.

Star couldn't believe what just came out of Edge's mouth... Not physically of course.

This stallion was obviously some gunghow who simply thinks shooting things gets stuff done.

Gold Rush awwed at the design of the ship staying with the group mostly.  He bags floated behind him in his red aura. "Yeah still funny when you realized you are drinking your own wee." He chuckled childishly as he walked into the airlock and into the halls.

⁂ As Edge continues to say stupid stuff about his crewmates, Sinu catches up to Star to talk. He still has a difficult time talking to her, as they weren't yet well-acquainted. "I see that you've met my 'friend'. Honestly, I never thought he'd qualify, with how much of a jerk he is. Then again, he can hit an apple with a pistol from a kilometer away."

⁑ Edge responds to Star with the same exaggerated tone of voice as he had used before; "I don't know about that; I might forget to listen to you or something, and I'll end up accidentally shooting the nerd." He points to Sinu; "That would be so funny, all of a sudden he's just like 'Ah crap you shot me in the hoof and now I'm dying; somepony please write my will!'" He laughs to himself slightly.

"Can I get a shot with somepony -- no wait, everypony -- no somepony next to the ship -- preferably with a hoof touching it.  These shots are always more impressive with size as a context?  And why don't we have a shuttle for sending messages back and forth?"

Getting into pose she stands about next to the landing gears, she leans about next to it giving a slight forced smile posing for the camera.

With introductory over Gizmo moved along his stuff placing it onto the loading dock.

"Hohoho... Can't wait to see what makes you tick." He says to the ship

Steve and Abby make their way towards the ship to board it, hoping that somepony would guide them to the living quarters.

 

Steve carried his and Abby's things to the loading bay and started to explore the ship. 

 

Eventually, the two pegasi found their way to the living quarters, and they chose a room together.

 

(Sorry, I just want to get inside, and I can't think of anything to do. )

⁂ Sinu looks around at everypony getting more anxious to launch, and one angrily mumbling to himself. He has to do something, to get away from the others, so he decides to walk to the flight schedule to see how long he will have to deal with this. The ponies in the ship's crew will go through training for the rest of the day, then sleep through the night, and board the ship for launch first thing in the morning. "How will I be able to deal with another twelve hours of this?" He thinks to himself.

The older pony shook his head at the ponies, watching how the gunner and flight officer were interacting, "If questions are over follow me to board the ship, he steps on a small elevator, when everypony is onboard the elevator lifts up  to the entrance to the ship and they went inside "To start off, this is the main hall to the cockpit, it is also where the escape pods are, now if we move down here" he goes down the hall a bit until the hall widens out "those right there are your rest rooms and showers, mare and stallion respectfully" he continues into the next door way "these rooms here are your living quarters, each of the 8 rooms were made to be as comfortable as possible, he walks into the next room "these rooms are your offices, you will be able to tailor each room as you see fit at a later date" he walks into the next room, which was big and decorated nicely, completely with carpet, wood paneling on the walls, several finely made couches and seats, 2 large TVs with an assortment of entertainment systems "here is the expanded lounge section, on the other end of the room there as you can see are more than one door, to your left is the kitchen, and to the right is the Infirmary, we are going to go through there" he leads the ponies into the Infirmary "this is a state of the art room, able to preform any surgery you need, the advanced operating table is able to preform complex surgeries on its own, just command it to what surgery needs to be done" he looks over at the wall "as you see there are 2 more doors ahead, to the right is the Research Lab, to the left is the Garden, which we will go through" he takes them through the garden, which has several hi quality looking fruits and vegtables " the room to the far left is the science lab, now if you follow me though here we will find our selfs in the elevator room" they enter there "now is there any questions before we take a look at the second deck?"

⁂ As he sees the rest of the ship's crew getting onto the elevator, Sinu dashes over to it, fitting both himself and his bags in the cargo-sized lift car, before the doors close. He has this fear of leaving his bags out of sight, when they're not locked up. Passing the living quarters, Sinu puts his bags in room six; there was something that he liked about that number. He follows the group, but eventually lags behind by looking at everything in great detail. To him, the ship seems like the technologically advanced house that he always had wanted.

Gold looked up from his tablet as the question was asked "ah yes, does this ship have probes and other such robotic drones?" He asked since it sort of needed for his line for work. He looked at the other members unsure of who to interact with next.

"yes they are located in the work station down below, we will vist that area shortly" if there are no other questions, you are free to roam this deck, however i will call you all together later to continue the tour, first i need the Pilot, Gun Operator, and Head Engineer, they will have a small tour of their primary work areas"

"Oh oh! That's me!" He gave a slight giggle before composing himself.

"Oh um...just point me in the right direction." He finishes.

Star exhaled a bit, "Is a tour really necessary? I'm familiar with this vessel class. The only work place I need is my seat." She says as the group departs from the elevator.

"If your piloting the ship you need to know what the FTL does and how to use it, there are very special precautions you need to be aware of, and you need to be careful, the FTL technology also relates to the engine, again special things you need to know, also the gun system is quite advanced so the gunner will need to know how to work it"

Star felt a bit confused and somewhat undermined. She was already briefed upon the FTL controls during pre-voluntarily review at the academy, did Arctic Control not review her dossier?

And what was so different about the turret system? Sure she didn't have a lot of enjoyment to Edge but are these tours necessary?

 

 

She continued wondering about as she followed along with Gizmo

"Since we are close to the engine, we will start here" he walked into one of the engine rooms, which was separated by a small sealed off hallway "now normally we would have protective radiation suits on, but the ship is currently powered down, if you notice the engines are basically beefed up versions of the ones found on a standard TH-160, with the exception of that structure in the center, thats what holds the fuel for the FTL part of the engines, as a cautionary note, never enter any of the engine rooms during FTL or you will be instantly vaporized, so its your job as the captain to make sure everypony is briefed and prepared for FTL travel"

"hmm, yeah we are heading to the cockpit soon" he leads them out of the engine room" he looks ar Edge" your in luck, the gun platform is right up this elevator" he leads them into the elevator and goes up into the turret, the controls of the turret look much like an advanced computer console with several monitors, there is a joy stick looking contraption in the center of the console "this is center for all the defense mechanisms in the entire ship, from here you activate and program the several small auto turrets on the out side of the ship that take out micro asteroids and random space debris, to the main turret which we are standing in now, while this thing does have manual control, it only is used as a back up as the main turret here is laser guided, the pilot or the gunner marks a target with a laser and the gun automatically aims its self and takes it out, this is used for larger asteroids or debris that could cause catastrophic damage to the ship, there is a direct communications link to the cockpit, gunner and pilot coronation is key for this to be successful"

Star was becoming more and more agitated, but allowing it to show, it was annoying to have to been given a review she had already known, but the controls for FTL could not be controlled by her.

Always she felt helpless when unable to take control of certain applications... Sigh, she'll have to get over it.

 

Gizmo followed about still listening as the tour was conducted, he was anxious himself to get to work but gave his attention as he followed along.

⁑ Edge looks around in awe, but tries hard to hide it so he can seem more experienced. "Yeah, this is cool enough. I can't wait 'til we go through that astroid thingy so I can shoot a bunch of stuff! I'm gonna use manual mode all the time because automatic is boring crap."

⁂ "Well, it seems like I'm really being paid attention to." Sinu says to himself in a sarcastic tone, as the group walks away. He decides to familiarize himself with the controls on his own, and walks to the cockpit. He looks around for his seat, and sits down at the farthest back left of the five seats. He looks over the controls for calculating the hyperspace jump, and decides to try out the calculator's incredible speed. "All right." He says; "Let's calculate the wind resistance of open space, with a gas density of four hydrogen atoms per cubic meter..."

Star smiles as she follows into the cockpit. The main pilots seat and consoles extended about near the window pans giving her a full 180 field of vision outside. The main navigation consoles are centered about in front of her leather chair.

 

She took a seat an let a euphoric sigh.

"Oh baby. I remember one of you as a commercial flight officer." She mumbles to herself.

Radio communications, local star map, status gauges all the familiar widgets remembered from her experience

The older Pony took them to the cockpit, he spoke to the Pilot "now, this will be brief as im going to assume your familiar with the standard TH-160 controls, so im only going focus on whats different, we will start will the added security features, as youll see there are several monitors over to that side, that is all security camera feed, you can monitor the entire ship here, you can also lock and seal any door on the ship from here in the event a hole gets blown in the ship or for quarantine reasons, and now the important part, the FTL controls, the speed level has been added with a button that activates the FTL engines and for the Space Rift Generator" he looks at Sinu "this is where you come in coordinates will be punched in to the nav computer and then you hit this button here and a rift will be open, now this might seem obvious, but when you have coordinates locked and your in FTL, do not touch the movent controls, even the slightest nod in one direction at that speed even a nano meter could send you way off course, also a warning, the Space Rift Generator has not been tested, all we know about how it works is all in theroy, so be very very careful with it"
