"Hey, it's okay man. If you practice, you won't always be this hapless," she teased Tempest. It was kind of a mean joke, sure, but at least she had said it in a jokey manner as opposed to a blunt one. You could get away with saying anything if you said it in a jokey manner.

@Rainbow Eclipse, "Exactly! If I keep going at it I wont take a bow to the face again." He joked."But still..." He said, loading another arrow into the bow. "My first proper shot was THAT bad?"

 

He looked over, took time to aim in and waited, this time when he fired hit hit the outermost ring of the target. 

 

"Aha! I hit it this time!" He cheered happily. "Bet I can't do that again, it's a miracle that I haven't shot anyone by accident yet." He looked at the time, "This has been great and I'm having loads of fun, we're already halfway through this and it feels like we've only just started"

"That's what the spirit of Hearth's Warming will do to you," Riley told Tempest Shift with a smile.

 

Anala smiled and shook her head at her friend's comment. She then turned to face Tempest. "So, Tempest Shift... where exactly did you say you were from?" she asked.

"Well... This is a long story so I'll summarise." He said.

 

"I was born in Cloudsdale, parents moved for employment to Canterlot, we were too poor to pay for the education in Canterlot and spent too long there so we moved to Saddle Arabia for work and cheap education, got bulled there by the students of an all earth pony school, they broke my left wing for being different. Moved away from the vicious locals and lived in Manehatten. I recently moved out from my parents which live in the industrial area and I live just past Frayed Saddle, over that way." He spouts very quickly, taking a break to breathe. He points his hoof north-western.

 

"I pay rent by performing with my band 'Always Look Beyond' So that's my life story summarised in a minute." He said calmly. "If you want to know more details about anything, don't be afraid to ask."

Tempest blushes slightly after he realizes how much he's spoken in the last minute,"Sorry, I tend to prattle on when talking about where I come from."

Anala listened to Tempest's backstory. She winced at the mention of having his wing broken.

 

"I started out in a more rural area for the first few years of my life, but then my parents split and my mom left. My dad had to move to Manehattan to get a cheaper living space for me, my sister, and my brother."

 

"I thought that it was going to be the end of all those days I spent frolicking in the fields, but fortunately, there was one in Manehattan. The one we're in as we speak."

 

"I lived in Manehattan all my life," said Riley. "I do make trips to Ponyville monthly, though."

"Fair enough. At least everything is OK for everypony now." He said happily. "I'm just happy I came out of my childhood experiences a better pony than one that would approve of that kind of thing..."

 

"So, how long have you two known each other?" He asked, not being able to think of anything else to say, realising he'd just killed the mood.

"We were both thirteen when we met," said Riley. "We're about the same age, except Anala is older than me by a few months. Now we're twenty."

 

"See, it was the first day of a new school year," said Anala. "I saw a bully trying to take Riley's lunch money, and I recognised said bully as the one who had done that same thing to me before when I didn't have a cutie mark. I couldn't stand to see it happen to another pony."

 

"I ran over and told the bully to leave Riley alone. The bully got all cocky until I showed him my flank and said, 'Don't mess with the pony with a bow and arrow for a cutie mark,', and that got him retreating quickly."

 

"I repaid Anala by letting her cut in front of me in the lunch line that same day," said Riley.

 

"And Riley's got a big appetite, so that gives you an idea of how grateful he was."

"Ah, that's nice. So you two met under a unfortunate circumstance that turned out to be a good one. Alls well that ends well" He beamed.

 

His bag started to glow and vibrate again."Oh for the love of... Not now. Turn off you dumb thing..." He mumbled to himself, fumbling around with his saddlebag again. "Aha, problem solved." He said, pleased with himself, then he noticed what else was in the bag.

 

Since this archery session is over do you mind if I drop off my bag real quick?" He asked politely. "It's not the company, I just need to swap my saddlebag as I packed the wrong one and It would be inconvenient if any of my other valuable possessions were broken or turned themselves on." He thought to himself, he didn't want scare off or creep out his new friends just because of a few odd possessions.

 

"Do you mind if I quickly get back to my house and swap my bags real quick?" He asked, now a little anxious suddenly realizing what items were inside. 

 

"I should've checked the bag before putting it on" He laughed anxiously, putting on a fake smile.

Jolt got out of his house and started to go for a walk. He set the party up til night. "*sigh*" he sighed of boredom "(This is getting no where. I set up the party and I feel like i'm missing something.)" he thought as he look at the old shop and see's some ornaments "(Hmm. I could check this shop out. I might find something useful for the party.)" he said as he head in looking around.

Dakota wakes up very late on the day of Hearth's Warming eve. He stretches his wings as he rolls out of bed, groaning.
"Guess I have to get my day started."
Dakota trots to the kitchen of his Dodge City home. He makes himself a quick, and very late, breakfast. The grey pegasi looks at the paper and notices the date.
"Oh...its that time of the year again" Dakota raspberries at the paper, "Buck this holiday! Wait....the stores have eggnog..TO THE STORES!" Dakota's mood picked up as he thought about the creamy goodness that was eggnog. 
He flies over to Manehatten and looks for the nearest grocery store. Suddenly, a shiny object caught his eyes. Dakota looks over and spots a vintage monocle on display in a jewelry store. His eyes light up as he quickly gallops over to the store. After Dakota pays for the monocle he exits the store and notices it was mid-day.
"Bullocks..." He says as he trots around the city, trying to find eggnogg.

Jolt looked at the mistletoe decoration and the sign says 'Enchanted' he walked up to the beautiful shopkeeper mare "Excuse me?" he got her attention "What kind of enchanted mistletoe do?" he ask as she smiled "Well, when two pony's are under there, they-" she leaned towards him and whispers about the effect of the mistletoe as Jolt just backed away "Whoa there. I pretty much don't want to hear the rest of it." he said as the mare gave a chuckle "( I better head to the store to get some ciders. And maybe some other drinks for the party.)" he thought as he said his goodbye to the mare and left to the store.
