technical issue mlp forum virus warnings

off and on for a while avast blocks this site saying there's malware if this true where is it coming from and what are they doing to prevent it from infecting every1.

Okay, first of all it doesn't have viruses, or else every school pc would be dead. Plus I have Bitdefender which is FAR better than avast and it doesn't block it. I have no idea why it says that.

They've been over this repeatedly, it's a possible ad causing the warnings. I recommend either adding the forums to your anti virus' exceptions list or get a different anti-virus until it's taken care of. Contact the mods/admins about it.

Can you screen shot what warning it is giving you? Some are ad related - but we never assume - until we can fully investigate.

not sure how to screen shot and it does it random 4 this siote only like if I click it it says threat has been detected an blocks this site

You can take a screenshot with your "Prt Sc" (Print Screen) button, and just paste it into an email or a paint program.

Based on threads I've seen similar to this one, my initial thoughts are that this may be related to some ads on the site. A screenshot would verify that for us.

cant tell try going on this site avast says blocked whatever and get white screen and I think with words or something like that not scree if false positive or malware in site that comes an goes

Assuming you're using Windows, head down to C:/ProgramData/AVAST Software/Avast/report/WebShield.txt

 

Head down to the bottom, and from there look for a block of messages, the first which should have 'mlpforums' in it.

found it but cant access it says its being used by another application an cant be accessed

Disable Avast for the moment, then look at the file. It may be preventing you from accessing it.
