Sam, who had now come back with some bar food, decided it appropriate to speak up, "I'm assuming that's the Tally or Tammy chick the bar was hushedly talking about. Masun, I don't like it: I personally like being more than carbon. Witches get burned when the Hunters come to town. Regardless of where the got their 'sacred' silver." She grimaces and moves a fraction of an inch to the left. More moonlight in that spot.

Even though Auria took more time than the others to get to the casino, she was finally there. Without much effort, she managed to find the others. As she approached the others, she saw a girl walking away. 'I wonder who she is..' Auria thought. Breathing heavily from all the running, she says "I finally made it.."

Franky hadn't seen what had happened, and he saw Masun had arrived, but had noticed another person arrive that looked oddly familiar. She was ragged and out of breath, but Franky decided to ignore her. He was getting hungry and walked away from the group from AREA. Franky went to the buffet, and was seated. He began to look around and collect foods that he wanted to eat. Franky continued to eat and wait for the others to come get him.

Charles' smile slowly dissipated to a uncharacteristic deadpan blank face as he watched Tally leave. Not afraid to walk away and seems rather calm by herself right after a beating, doesn't make a big deal about how Matchstick 'did what he did' whatever that was. Nor does she seem to want to call the police. Not really a normal person's reaction. More of an interesting reaction to me. He finished thinking, his face returning to normal as he looked to the group. "Well, me and our new mate Franky here were gonna go to the buffet. Not sure if that's gonna impede on whatever you were planning." He said. "And who was the girl? You better give me a name before I come up with another nickname instead."

"As Sam said, her name is Tally. She's the daughter of the owner of this Casino, and she takes her job as a bartender a bit too seriously." Masun replied to Charles, "You mentioned The Hunters? Did you have a run in with them or something? I was just about to explain about them, and was waiting until Auria arrived but since she's here I suppose I could start, but lets go in first, and grab a table for our group." Masun walked through the entrance of the casino. The Casino was a bit more than just a casino, as most casino's in vegas are. The casino was a hybrid beast, much like a mall. It had multiple levels with gambling on every floor. There were different restaurants, run by different businesses and chefs. There were family areas that kids could win tickets at arcades. There were souvenir shops, electronic stores, even vending machines that dispensed charging cords for various popular phone models. Choose your favorite sin, no doubt there was a way to purchase it at this Casino. Masun lived in Las Vegas for ten years, eight of them were spent living at this casino specifically. Masun knew this casino inside and out. The first floor, along with all the vibrant buzzing gambling machines, had an all-you-can-eat-buffet with a bar right next to it.

Masun began walking to the buffet/bar area, when he caught a glimpse of his reflection in a mirror that was outside a sunglasses kiosk. He stopped and looked at himself, realizing, in a fully lit environment, it was easy to tell that he had red eyes. And red eyes are a specific trait of a vampire, something that would give Masun away in a heartbeat. Masun pulled out his wallet, but quickly remembered he had no money due to Area seizing his savings. There was a ATM nearby, so he decided to check and see if his account was still seized. Masun pulled out his metallic gold MasterCard, and swiped it in the ATM. Instead of rejecting his card information, which would have happened if his account was still blacklisted, it pulled up the prompt for his pin number. He quickly punched in his pin, 2-4-8-6, easy enough to remember, and simple to punch in if he was too drunk to work his motor-functions properly. The screen changed to an options screen that looked like:

--Deposit (Check)

--Withdraw

--Check Balance

--Español

--Exit

Masun selected check balance and was surprised with what he saw, he expected to see the $12,363 dollars he had in his account prior. What he saw instead was:

--Current Ballance--

     $262,363.00

Masun's eyes widened, it had been a while since he had that much money in his account, three years to be precise. Masun wondered if he was the only one that got compensated to this degree, or if everyone in his group had $200,000 beamed to their accounts overnight. Masun pushed the exit button and walked back over to the kiosk. The kiosk was a Sunglasses Hut Kiosk with a small selection of overpriced eyewear behind thick glass. A large black gentleman was standing with his arms crossed, behind the kiosk. Masun bent over and pointed at a random pair. It was a pair of Oakley: Oil Rig's, the man behind the kiosk withdrew from the cabinet. Masun didn't even bother trying them on, he got his total from the cash register, swiped his card, and placed the glasses over his eyes.

After buying the glasses, Masun found a large enough table for them to all sit at, in the buffet area, and sat down at it.

Charles thought as he made his way over to the table Masun sat at. He waved to Franky at his table in a attempt to call him over and then sat down. Tally, tally, tally. You gotta be something. Today might be too boring if you aren't something. Yet there isn't enough information... But that's what makes it fun.

After a few moments of thinking to himself silently, he looked over to Masun. With only the two at the table at the time and with him not saying anything for a bit he felt the situation might of been a bit awkward. He leaned back with his arms crossed and spoke with a serious of a tone. "So what do you think mate. That Tally chick. She's gotta have powers. I know a power user when I spot one. And that. is. one. right. there." He explained, tapping his finger down on the table and pausing in between the last five words.

"The only problem is that she hasn't given any giveaways yet... Unless she's some kind of drink leprechaun. A liquorchaun. That would explain why she takes her job so seriously. Catch her and she'll give you a keg of booze at the end of a rainbow. Splash her in the face with a four leaf shamrock shake and she'll melt." He continued, still sounding serious despite his absurd accusation.

Masun saw Charles sit down next to him and listened to what he said.

"Hmm..." Masun thought about it for a second. "I doubt she is anything. I've smelled her blood already, if she were a natural born mage, a vampire, a werewolf, a dragon, a ghoul, a demon, well pretty much anything I would tell immediately from the smell of her blood. She has normal smelling human blood." Masun replied. He took his flask out and opened the cap, knocking back a swig of alcohol.

Auria quietly followed Masun and the others around. She has never been to a casino before and it was quite overwhelming. There aren't any casinos from where she used to be, so this was all new to her. She knew people gambled, but seeing it with her own eyes changed what she thought about it before. Auria noticed that Masun bought a pair of sunglasses, which kind of confused her since they were indoors, but she knew there must be some sort of reasoning behind it, so she didn't bother asking. She sat down on the table that Masun picked out.

"That only means that she likely isn't one of the above. Not to mention it's possible to hide some of their traits, including smell, for some of those powers." Charles persisted before getting up. "I'm gonna go grab a plate mate, be right back." He said as he walked over to the food. He grabbed a plate and dished up some seafood and returned to the table as quick as he could.

Sam sat down at the table as Charles left. "Okay. Now I'm curious as to what I smell like. But your prior question first: I had the unfortunate... pleasure of running into a gang of people after my head. It ended well for no-one." She crossed her arms and leaned back.

"Magi blood is particularly very succulent and sweet. I've heard that it is a delicacy among vampires, but since I have never really met any other vampires, I have no way to corroborate that. I can, however, say that I have had Mage blood, and it was the tastiest blood I have ever had." Masun paused and cracked a smile that bared his right extended canine tooth for dramatic effect. "I would never drink my comrades blood, though. So how about we get some drinks instead? I believe even though I arrived first I was actually second to go through the doors of this casino, so if I am not mistaken, it would be Auria. And since she is not old enough to buy alcoholic drinks, I suppose I could buy the round."

Charles listened and cracked open a crab leg and started to eat. He wasn't someone who usually drank at all, so he replied with what he usually did when drinks were brought up. "I'll have a long Island Iced Tea but with no 'Long Island'." He requested and then went back to his food. "So, I don't suppose anybody has any questions or stories for each other. This is the first time we've all been out. Might as well get to know each other a bit more past basic introductions eh?" He commented.

Masun was about to reply something offhanded to Charles, when Tally showed up at their table carrying a tray of beverages. She set the tray down on their table. "Don't get this twisted, It's not like I like you or anything, I just made too much" Tally said

Masun marveled at the free alcoholic drinks, not so much at the fact that she didn't ask anyone for their IDs and just offhandedly served alcohol to a minor, but the fact that she gave free drinks at all. Masun stood abruptly and gave Tally a big hug. He then sat back down and wiped a tear from his eye. "It's beautiful." Masun said, before sipping down his drink.

Tally blushed at the hug and got flustered for a moment. She then regained her regular demeanor and examined the group at the table. Two girls, with Masun. Obviously there is something going on there.

"So, how long have you been two timing these girls?" Tally said bluntly.

Masun's drink went down the wrong, and he began coughing and spat a bit of his drink out, and then resumed his composure. "You got it all wrong, I don't two-time. I haven't even had a girlfriend in a millennium" Even though it was a bit of an over exaggeration, it was not as much of a long shot as some might think. "I have had some issues with love since I lost someone a long time ago. I don't like to talk about it."

Tally quickly realized that she overstepped her bounds because Masun's face turned from an expression of happiness to a serious expression. So she tried to switch her target.
"U-um... I see, so the two-timer who has the girlfriends is him." Tally said, and pointed at Charles.

Charles reluctantly grabbed one of the drinks and eyed Tally. Trying to see if he could gain any information on her. But that soon ended when she spoke to him. Usually Charles would of had a quick humorous retort, but her accusation seemed to catch him off guard in a way. His casual expression seemed to unhinge. "Heh, uh, no not me either mate... I think we're all single here actually." He said forcing a small chuckle as he took a sip. His tone even sounded somewhat unnatural as compared to his usual one. After that Charles sat back in his seat with his drink and tried to go under the radar for now.

*Crack*

Charles' eyes jolted as he heard something that no one else at the table seemed to hear. Under his shades his reaction wasn't very noticeable. He tried to forget it but after a few seconds he heard something that sounded like flesh being sliced by a blade. Followed by more cracks and snaps. Sounding more like bones being broken by the second and followed by cries of pain. Then loud steel like bangs and gunshots. He knew exactly what it was. It slowly intensified over time until he placed his hand on his forehead and shut his eyes. By that time the intensity of the sounds no longer resembled snaps, screams, and slices, but instead a mass of loud static noise. He opened his eyes, the noise abruptly turning off, but when he did, he was no longer in the casino sitting by the group. He was in the Australian Area building.

He was by himself in his old office, the complete silence as compared to the sounds he heard before was relieving. Charles knew what was happening rather quickly when he glanced at the calender. It was set nearly four years into the past, only about five months after he joined the AREA program. He was reliving a past memory via flashback. Something he was rather prone to every once in a while. He could never really change or control anything, it was more like watching a movie through his own eyes most of the time. The same thoughts he thought at the time often even flash into his mind as it happens.

His office was rather plain looking, a few bought nick knacks decorated the room but besides that it paled in comparison to his current room. However the room was at the end of the day just an office compared to a full pseudo-apartment in the American area. He made the trip back home frequently and lived there most of the time. Since he was just a normal human Area 10 didn't really have a problem with it either. After a few moments he heard a call on the intercom of the building.

"Charles Foss please report to the Director's office." Said a middle aged mans voice.

Charles looked up to the intercom with an irritated face as the message played out. He got up with a sigh and made his way out of the room and into the hallway. Area 10's hallways weren't that much different than 51's. The colors were mostly tropical military uniform colored, sandy tan and shades of brown and green. The place had a few potted plants and pictures on the walls but overall the layout of the rooms was similar. Charles seemed to fit in rather well as he made his way to the Director's office. After a brief stroll he arrived at the door to the office. Charles opened it without thinking that much and leaned up against the frame of the door, halfway in the room. "You called mate?" He asked.

A rather muscular man sat at a desk at the other side of the room, presumable the same one who used the intercom. He had ear length blonde hair combed to the side, scruffy mustache, a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and a plain blue tie. "Indeed I did." The man said. He rested his head on his hands with his elbows on the table for support. "I have an assignment for you." He continued. Unlike Charles the man didn't have a strong accent.

"Why... didn't you just send it over to me like usual?" Charles asked, confused.

"Because it's not like the rest. It requires a little briefing." He explained. "Please come in all the way and shut the door"

Charles reluctantly got out of his lanky posture leaned up against the door and walked inside, shutting the door. He sat down and looked to the man who just stared at him. "Care to cue me in, boss?" He asked.

The man thought for a few seconds before he dropped his hands and sat up straight in his chair. "It has come to my attention that out of all the agents here, you are the only one without any group experience. All the time you spend not on solo missions you just sit in your office, refuse to go on team missions, drink our coffee, go home, give it a wank, and go to bed. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but you need to realize you aren't working at fucking Diary Queen." He started, sounding a bit aggravated. The director pulled over a small model train set that ran in a circle. "You see this, you see this right here?"

"I know this one mate." Charles replied quickly and raised his hand like a school student. "Wasted money and time on a pointless hobby?" He answered with a grin.

The director didn't bother to reply and simply moved on. "A train set, but not just a train set in this case. In this case this here train set is going to resemble a group unit, our Area. The tracks are be our area agents. And the train is productivity." He explained and spun his hand around the tracks. "When every track is straight and ship shape the productivity train continues going smoothly. But..." He continued and pulled off one of the tracks. "What happens when one of the tracks isn't participating at his best?" He asked and then placed the train track outside of the set. "This one here is gonna represent you Charles." He whispered and tapped the missing track. At this point the Director had a rather crazed attitude.

"It... crashes?"

"IT GETS FUCKED UP!" The director yelled back immediately and smashed the whole train set off the desk with his fist before the model train even had the chance to derail on the missing space, causing Charles to jump in surprise and cover his face from any debris. "When someone isn't participating it slows down the productivity train and puts a burden on the rest of the agency! Assignments that should be shared by you pile up on others instead! People could get overworked, agents that don't have the right skill set could be used in your place, the productivity train could get... fucked up!" He ranted. "...But no longer will this go unpunished."

Charles looked at him, uncovering his face.

He sounded a bit calmer now. "Area 14 in Japan is sending over someone. They aren't an agent, but they are of interest to the organization. Instead of bothering someone else with this task, you will personally be taking care of them this time during their stay here. They aren't Area 14's problem now, or our problem, they are your problem." He explained.

Charles took a few moments. "I don't think you bloody understand Nigel. I ca-"

"No I don't think you understand Charles, you will do this, and you will do it right or I will stomp your guts out like the goddamn productivity train over in the corner." Nigel said, pointing to the broken remains of the train set at the other side of the room. "You don't have to take them out on missions. They aren't your partner. You just have to make sure nothing bad happens. It's first grade." The Director explained coldly.

"...Yes sir." Charles replied plainly.

"Now get out of my office." He Finished.

Charles tipped his hat and made his way to the door. He opened it and stepped outside back into the hall. His mood considerably worsened as compared to when he walked in.

Franky was getting up once more, and he had now noticed his co workers sitting at another table. He made his way towards the group, and the workers of the casino looked relieved when they saw Franky moving from his table. They thought he was leaving, and their expressions soon sank once more when they saw him go for more food. Franky had eaten 20 plates of just meat in the ten minutes he had been there, and the staff wished him to leave.

Franky soon came back with four more plates of assorted meats from the buffet, and began eating silently once more. He had an insatiable appetite, and meat felt the best to fill him up. He watched as the others began conversing and tried to discern anything he could from their interactions, but could not come up with anything beyond a theory. When a bartender walked over and gave the table drinks they had not ordered, Franky stared at the bartender. Then at Masun who hugged the bartender. Then back to the bartender. He looked at the bartender, but didn't recall seeing her anywhere. 'I must have missed something between the two. Hm. Vampire being friends with a human seems special to say the least.' The conversation was soon directed towards Charles, and Charles seemed to zone out for a bit. Franky stared at him, Charles seemed to have gone into a sort of auto pilot mode, reacting to small things around him but not really being in the moment. By now he had finished two of the plates of meat and was working on his next one when he decided he was thirsty. He raised his head and looked at the bartender. He didn't know how to call a bartender or a waiter, so he looked intently at the bartender hoping to get her attention using his pressure alone.

Masun noticed that Charles had zoned out after he was asked the question by Tally.

"Ey Charles, you okay, man. Charles? Crocadile Dundee?" Masun snapped his fingers in front of Charles face, but there was no response. :"Charles?" Masun put his hand on Charles shoulder.

Same subtly use magic to change her clothes into a buisness-casual look. "He's a bit out of it," she apologizes to Tally. "My name's Sam. All of us here are co-workers at a private facility out of town. We specialize in training experienced fighters into... well, you know... better ones. We also double as a private investigation firm, for field experience and profit management. The exception of that of me: I tend to push papers and apparently smell delicious." She frowns at Mason. "Pleasure to meet you Miss Tally." She reaches to shake the bartender's hands, "Word is you just got out of an aweful assult and battery situation. It's surprising to see such victims still keeping cool. Color me impressed: I would personally be at home in my sheets with the doors locked. Would you care to leave a statement? I can pass it along to the police, or my boss, or apparently Masun."

Charles walked over to the lounge and to the coffee machine. He started to make himself a dark coffee to relax after the previous exchange. After a few minutes he had a fresh cup. As he picked the cup up and went to take a sip he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Charles?" A female voice asked. Startled, he went to turn around, but when he did all he saw was Masun instead.

He was back at the casino, now awake in his seat. It seems that Masun had brought him out of it while mimicking the same thing that was happening in his dream. "Huh?"... I'm fine I'm fine. Alcohol and me don't mix well mate." He said with a chuckle as a damage control.

Franky got up once more, not waiting any longer for the bartender, and walked over to the bar. Walking behind the counter he began to look for some milk or tea to drink. He began rummaging around when he knocked over a bottle of rum. He looked at the bottle then peeked over the counter and saw the bartender was still at the table with the others. He put a rag over the mess and walked back to the table and continued eating, not thinking he had done anything wrong. He saw Charles had crab legs on his plate. Franky reached over and took his plate and began eating all of them, along with his own food.

Charles was too shaken up to bother scolding Franky. Besides, between the Chinese food from earlier and the food he was able to eat at the buffet he was already full anyways. At this point there wasn't much of a point to not finish his drink so he continued to take sips every now and then.

"Riiight, a private facility for private investigation. I can't say much, because this city is full of Hunters at the moment. But, let's just say that my father tried to get me to join your little private facility many times, because of my 'special skills'. Every time he tries I tell him to get bent. I won't serve a system that is hellbent on turning those with special skills against each other." Tally replied, and then pursed her lips "Also, your appearance transmogrification was not as subtle as you thought. Just be glad none of The Hunters saw that."

Masun stopped drinking and raised an eyebrow. "But, that doesn't make any sense. My... uh." Masun looked around the open room, nobody outside of the current group seemed to be listening in on them, but there was a group of burly men wearing leather jackets playing a slot machine ten yards away. So Masun lowered his voice again and attempted to speak in the euphemisms that Tally was using. "Let's just say that my 'special skills' allow me to detect other.... uh... special skill users through the uh... olfactory senses" Masun whispered.

"I know what you are and why you are wearing those glasses, Masun. Your ability allows you to detect natural born 'skill users' sure. When it comes to things that aren't fully, uh... average, your abilities would work. But I am an average young adult female. My 'special skill' is actually truly a special skill, in the fact that I wasn't born with it, I learned it. My art is the..." Tally lowered her voice as well, "Occult teachings from the necronomicon. In a word, I could be called a Necromancer, though that does not fully sum up what I am capable of." Tally explained.

This made sense to Masun. Masun was aware of the Ellis Classifications. A system of oddity classifications that was created by Doctor Howard Ellis. In the classifications, oddities are separated into two categories that are then separated into further categories within those two categories. The classification looks like this:

So, from what Tally was saying, she would be categorized under Full-Human Oddity. Masun was aware that there are certain magic abilites that can only be used by people born of a certain ancestry, those are called Magi. Tally uses magic she learned purely through the teachings of a book. Of course her blood would not smell like a Magi's blood. She is still fully human.

"I see, that does make senes." Masun replied. So that is how she has stayed hidden from the Hunters for as long as she has. The Hunters use tactics like blessed silver against the skin, to find out whether or not someone is an oddity. Tally has no weaknesses like that, she is a full human. Though, a knife through the heart or a bullet through the head, blessed silver or not, she is dead.. So she has all the disadvantages of being a human as well, Masun thought.

"Well, I got to get back to work. So unless anyone needs anything else, I will be leaving." Tally said

Though, a knife through the heart or a bullet through the head, blessed silver or not, she is dead.. So she has all the disadvantages of being a human as well, Masun thought.

"Well, I got to get back to work. So unless anyone needs anything else, I will be leaving." Tally said

Sam shrugs away the explination, "Can't blame you. The robes itch." She scans the room lightly, and bites a lip. "If you don't mind, I think I'll follow you. I have a feeling I may need... a boost, if you know what I mean. It's been a long night." She offers a shallow smile, but it was clear that she was uncomfortable. And quite frankly, more comfortable around the Necromancer than a vampire who just said she smelled good.

Charles lightly punched Masun on the shoulder with a laugh. "Told ya mate." However he was a bit disappointed that it wasn't him who got to figure it out. With that mystery over and his crab legs gone to Franky he didn't have much to do anymore. He turned to Tally before she left "Nice drink by the way. It's not often I get to have a glass of grog I like." He commented.

Tally looked at the mage who was just talking to her, and then to the Australian.

"Well, thank you for the compliment. I have had a lot of experience mixing drinks over the years." She redirected her attention back to the mage "Well, as long as you are buying something, I don't mind if you follow me back to the bar. My job is basically making drinks and listening to sad saps who have personal problems, or just lost all their winnings at blackjack." She waved to Masun, and walked back to the bar with the tray she brought the drinks on, and began to wipe the bar counters down.

"Well, technically I was right that she is a human. But, you were right." Masun said with a smile. Masun turned his attention to Auria, "You alright, Auria? You've been pretty quiet. You've hardly touched your Long Island Iced Tea."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I just had some things on my mind. Did I miss anything important? I wasn't really paying attention.." Auria sounded somewhat nervous, scanning her surroundings and the people around her. She didn't really feel comfortable in this casino, especially after hearing some things about Hunters that kill oddities lurking around this area. Auria grabbed the drink and took a sip, only to realize that it was alcohol. She paused for a bit and placed the drink back down on the table.

Sam went to the bar and paid for a light drink. After chatting around pretty much nothing, she decided to return to base and sleep for a while. Maybe do some meditation and learn a trick or two. That was, her master said, the longest and most rewarding way to do magic.
