gaming Any MLP: FiM Video Games to be released?

There was one released for Android and iOS in 2012, but I don't think there's anything official in the works or even being rumored about at the moment. :/

That's too bad. Perhaps the MLP movie that's being developed may inspire a video game to go with it?

Unfortunately, nothing for consoles at the time. That said, the Gameloft game is quite fun, and there are tons of great fan games, like My Little Investigations.

That's one possibility :/ However, considering the general ratio of good movie/show-inspired games to terrible/meh ones, it may not necessarily be worth getting hyped about one if it does get announced.

A licensed game based on the movie of a TV show. That can't be anything but trouble, honestly. Go for the Gameloft game, I guess. It does a good job of simulating the experience of being mugged, only with microtransactions and credit card debt as opposed to a missing wallet and bruises.

Yeah, the only signifigant official one is the mobile app game, which isn't bad, but... it runs on microtransactions. Yeah...

Something cooler on a proper game system would be nice, heck even a handheld game would be a huge step up if done right, but I wouldn't hold your breath on that happening anytime soon unfortunately.

I've managed to get to level 39 and having 5 of the Mane 6, the CMC, and a lot of other things without spending a dime.

Yeah, that's a good point.

I think I may have found something that looks promising. It's an online MLP game:

I have a fried who has played that. It opens once a year or so.

There are no FiM games on a game console, official or otherwise. I am certain of that. As for fan games, are we going to count that?

You said there weren't any official games at all. There's plenty on Hasbro's site, and the Gameloft game.

Well yeah, I know it doesn't require spending, I just felt it was too slow to play otherwise, for me anyway. :P

I guess it's debatable as to whether those should count as "video games".

I despise mobile games and think it is a blight on the game industry(Well mainly the practices it revolves around), but you can't deny that it meets the requirement to be labeled as one.

As for a Hasbro licensed FIM game, I don't think we will be getting one of those for awhile, it is most certainly possible, but Hasbro probably realizes that the main audience for the game itself would be bronies, which would have a higher standard for a game than the younger audience(some would play it, but how many of the of the younger audience would really pick this up?). For now we just have to bet on games like LoE, mobile, and flash like games(If only Fighting is Magic was allowed, would so play that).

Fallout: Equestria and Legends of Equestria is currently being developed, Other than that, there are some neat mini-games around the internet. Besides that though, I don't know. Mainly it is all just fan-made or by gameloft

Oh shoot, didn't realize that was a standalone, I thought they were just planning on making it a mod for FO:3 or FO:NV, cool because I hate the engine those two are on.

Weird isn't it? They had MLP games developed during the G3 era, but it seems like now they just make a sadly fairly generic (from what I've seen) mobile game and call it a day.

I suppose they recognize their audience (NOT Bronies), which is probably mostly going to be touched upon through mobile devices, whereas during G3 (at least until the end) cell phones were just phones and didn't yet really have much gaming. So systems like the DS were the only option back then.

Sad... But I don't know that the G3 DS game I've seen around is of any quality whatsoever... Probably not. xD Mobile or DS, or PC, a branded MLP game probably won't be anything too amazing.

If done correctly they could make a pony game that's like a life simulation. What was that one game which the most recent game had the subtitle New Leaf?

It would probably be all social life simulation like that with no combat or anything. My ideal pony game would be a dungeon crawler. Go into dungeons and collect loot. Use your special talent to fight. Even Legends of Equestria doesn't do that. From what I've read it's 100% social. They need to allow player created content, like Furcadia.

Legends of Equestria does have combat, even in their last open test they had combat implemented(rather poorly at the time, but understandable given its state). Though I agree with the player created content, maybe make it similar to Steam Workshop so that it must be uploaded onto the "workshop" site, and then the launcher will download the custom content that way all CC would be moderated when uploaded to the site. I can't really say what would be good for CC moderation though, just a system I was thinking about.

I wish there was! it would make so much money! there aren't even any games for younger audiences which surprises me. There is a cool game called ponymon if you are a fan of poke'mon as well which did give me a couple of hours of giggles and nostalgia. It's a shame they didn't finish it
