Even if a deck does manage to make good use of Progenitus, there are numerous ways to deal with it in every color. Board wipes, sac mechanics, circles in white, etc. Also, it can be argued in many circumstances that, by allowing your opponent to drop a Progenitus in the first place, you've already made numerous grave mistakes.

I don't think it's fair to say someone's made errors if somebody lands Progenitus. Maybe in Modern it could be, since the format allows multiples and the decks are more reliable. However, my friend plays 5 color Super Friends in EDH under Progenitus. When he ramps into a handful of any of his 30 Planeswalkers, worrying about Progenitus takes a backseat for most people in our group until he's actually cast. Holding onto a board wipe for Progenitus can be the death of you just as quickly if you don't deal with the Planeswalkers. His deck is evil and wrecked 5 players who had ended up working against him simultaneously. It was a ridiculous match where everything worked perfectly in his favor, and we hated it. My Akroma EDH deck has dealt with it though, but just barely.

On another note: I remember when I started out thinking that Vizzerdrix was an AMAZING trump card!

Bahaha

I'm running a Silumgar control deck right now, opening those two Ugins at the Dragons prerelease weekend kinda forced me into it.

It is my first control deck.

Honestly I don't find the power creep a big problem(not saying it's not present, creatures have seen a increase in power) but that's also because I have a friend that plays legacy and we play here and there. Most legacy deck will slaughter Modern decks because t1 is the hasty setup while t2 or t3 are the stabilizers unless you run the $3000 JUNK deck. Vintage on the other hand...nothing beats the speed of vintage. T1 is setup and stabilizer, and T2 is a game of chess till you win. For example, Dredge in vintage, it runs 4 bazaar of Baghdad and 4 serum powders to get Bazaar of Baghdad and then proceed to swarm the feild with more zombies than a drunk on binge drinking could handle. Modern is a fast format, don't get me wrong but it still pails in comparison due to vintage and legacy cards because they offer the mana and/or cards to do a bunch of derpy stuff and guess where most of the enablers come from? Alpha through whatever cutoff date you want to put classic Magic at

Modern starts at the 8th edition Core Set. Anything before that falls under Legacy or Vintage. EDH and Tiny Leaders allow most of that old stuff too, but are considered Casual Singleton formats, so the cards aren't as scary (most of the time). Legacy Elves would be my only way to go. The others are too expensive for my taste.

lol you mean grove of the Guardian? Had me search for a bit like wtf is that.. anyway I am accually surprised by how cheap that card is when it looks so great.

Lol... Fail. Sorry 'bout that. And ya, I got it from a booster pack. Also a Mytic Rare that gives you life equal to the toughness of a creature that enters the battlefield. Pay 3 mana and tap this creature: Populate. :3 It all depends whst'cha play.

I have built a green/black deck a month ago, but I never found time to test it   I know I have some pretty cool features in it (Phthisis, Howl of the Night Pack with Prismatic Omen, Shimian Specter, etc.) but I don't know what my deck worth...
