The main problem I have is finding clips to use and how to cut them out and import them into the editor. (in my case, iMovie) Once I have stuff to work with, I think I can do it. It's just how to go about getting the right content for the song or whatever.

Well I'm not familier with iMovie (I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio 10) but the way I get clips is by downloading entire episode(s) from YouTube with YouTube Downloader and then I import them into the editor (as it should now be a simple file on your computer) and then I place cuts where I need to and delete any excess portions of the episode. I havn't found a way to make the cuts prior to importing them

 

I don't know if that will help (I have never used iMovie) but that is how I get my clips
