"So this is how royalty is treated is it?" she walked away, breathing hard they continued on to the government building, she mumbled to herself "how DARE those peasants talk to me in such a manner...I ought to go back and beat him to a pulp!...take MY beast will you..." Hommit asked the duke "Do citizens really treat royal figures like that?"

Claria chuckled "you dont even know what miracle you just witnessed, anyother time if a peasant talked to her like that, she would have beaten that officer to a bloody pulp! heck she might attack the next pony she sees if he so much as looks at her the wrong way!"

 

they reached the government building, the queen who was still angry stopped in front of the door and starting taking several deep breaths "ok....ok...lets just get this done so I may retrieve my beast" she turned around and walked into the build "I am Queen Salazaria of Cidonia, I wish to speak with the regent of this city!"

"Hope she wont... otherwise she might end up in jail... she cant just do that around here... dont you have the basic of legal systems?"

 

The secretary looked up at her and talked with a emotionless tone,

"The mayor is busy right now.... please stay in the waiting room."

 

About an hour later, the mayor open his office doors,

"Yes, how may i be of assisstance?"

"Oh we have a legal system there are rules and such, however the queen is above all laws and is the one who crafts them, she is allowed to do as she pleases in her kingdom and all bow down to her in her presence"

 

the queen stood up "I am the Queen of Cidonia, And i would like to discuss what has happened in this city since my absence, seeing how a lot has changed since ive been here"

It used to be like that... But now the laws are made by the king and a council of representatives from each province. His majesty has the right to veto whatever he doesnt like though.

 

"Well... I dont know what to say... Look around." The mayor said,"it has been turned into a true industrial and trading establishment.

Meanwhile, back at the capital the surgery table was ready. About 7 doctors and assisstants waited their patient.

"Yes, yes thats all well and good, but those clouds have got to go! I cant even see the sky or even the sun, this city is so cold, and not just the temperature, I had the worst time getting here, I had some peasants yell at me, then some officer talked to me as if he was on my level, Ive never felt so insulted, hes lucky I didnt pound his face in for his attitude"

 

Hommit nodded "interesting, us advisers have no real power, we are put in certain positions to help the ruler manage the kingdom and make suggestions to the ruler"

"Well... you see nothing we can do about that... The smoke is made by the factories.... the factories make electricity, machined parts, steel, " he listed a lot of products, "and the apartments are actually quite warm due to a system we call central hheating. Anyway, there isnt any other city around so i dont know why this might be of any concern. They are ponies who enforce the law, one cannot bame them for doing their job."

 

The duke whispered, "Well... most of the representatives agree with his majesty anyway.... but this way we manage to make the people think they have a bit of power in the way things are run."

"Im just saying, its a little odd to feel chilly in the middle of the desert, but anyway, the officer made no attempt to be respectful of me or my position, and it doesnt excuse the peasant acting like he could demand that my manticore move out of the way of his carriage" she huffed "anyway Im just here to check up on the place, its been awhile since ive been here, I dont remember it looking so...foreign..."

"Ah lie down.... " the doctor said. The table was made of a 10cm thick wooden plant with schakles where the limbs would be. Behind him were many knives and other cutting tools. Two of the assistants held hoses which were connected to different barrles. THis would probably be the first proper surgery to take place in the area.

"You wont even realize how long it takes..."

One of the assistants attached the hose to a mask and placed it on her face, choloroform was put through therefore putting her to sleep imidiately. The used some sort of stetoscope to localize the worms rough position. Then used a sterile knife to cut and open it up. Using an electric light they found the worm. two of the assisstants held the gas tube, two held the wound open, one checked her life signals while the last one aided the doctor. they caught the warm and slowly started pulling and rolling it on a cylindrical tuve. They pulled out about 70cm and it was still going. The sight was visible for any passer bys.

He takes out a document from his desk,

"THese are no longer 'yoursands', this is no longer 'your city', our orders and policies are coming from over the sea,from his majesty. Now i suppose you want your animal back..". he signed a paper and gave it to her. "i trust our buissness here is done?"

"Is that so" she takes the paper "you are right, we are done here" she storms out Hommit and Claria shrug and follow her outside and get on their manticores "Next stop is where they are holding my beast, I hope it slaughtered all of its captors..." she starts moving

The compound as dark. Thick, high walls surrounded it and dim lights were places every 2m on the walls. Guards armed with batons and blunt weapons were present in numbers. A thick iron-barred cage kept the manticore. The bars were 6cm thick and a triple lock held the door shut.

The queen approached the compound and entered it "I am Queen Salazaria of Cidonia, I wish to be taken to my beast that you have imprisoned here!" she demanded in her royal tone "I have been given a writ I am supposed to present, as my status seems meaningless" She muttered under her breath as she got out the paper

A pretty chubby, moustached guard approached, he takes the paper,

"Alright... Let me see..."

He shouts at another employee,

"Hey, bring that fat monster here now will ya?"

"Sure thing!" He replies.

In a few minutes, the beast is brought forth, it was held with a bar, ending in a loop around its head to stop it from reaching its captors.

The chubby guard hangs her a pen and a document,

"Sign here please."

She signed the document "Now unchain my magnificent beast! this form of treatment is extremely undignified for such a noble animal!" she complained, outside Hommit sighed "I knew the queen wasnt going to like coming here, this was asking for trouble

"Yes Glorious Leader, we prepared the unicorn to wear a fluffy outfit to appear like the one on our propaganda posters. He is currently receiving the emissary from Ponssia. We have the other is about to receive the diplomats from Medeis."

 

"Excellent, now leave me. I need my full concentration to control both at once. Nopony is to disturb me."

 

The orderly left Defiant Shadow in his hidden room near the arrival chambers. Shadow started to cast his mind control spell and soon found himself looking at both of the diplomats....

"I don't know, but in my opinion, this method is effective as well," the captain replied. The chamber door opened to reveal an average sized fluffy unicorn sitting behind a large wooden desk ((Imagine a blue Fluffle Puff)). Those who understood such magic could see the this unicorn was under a mind control spell from the green eyes, but the captain was unaware of this 

 

He looks exactly like the propaganda posters we see everywhere. Better make a good impression. The captain saluted to what he thought was the Supreme Leader. 

 

"At ease soldier. You may leave us, your mission is complete."

 

"Yes Supreme Leader!" The captain relied as he finished his salute and left the room.

 

The unicorn turns to the Ponssia soldier and asks, "So what brings you here to my country?"

"Good luck, and I hope you succeed on whatever you have come for!" The mayor called out before departing. The mayor had no need to meet with the Supreme Leader, he had some paperwork and other duties to attend to.

 

The chamber doors opened to show a red unicorn sitting behind a wooden desk. His eyes shown off a slight green glow that those familiar with mind control can recognize that he is not under his own influence. 

 

"Come in. I've heard you have undergone a long journey to meet me here. Now why are you here?" the unicorn asks the diplomats.

The world came into a hazy light as shadows danced along the walls. As the scout came to, he found himself imprisoned in what looked like to be a mine. He heard voices discussing his injuries as sharp pain went through his body. He winced and yelled in pain while the medicine was applied. After it settled, his captors asked the obvious question, what was his superiors' plans? Of course being a lowly scout meant he barely got any intel that the rebel scum wanted.

 

"I have no idea what the battle plans are. My orders were to scout your pathetic position and report back my findings. Even if I knew what the strategy was, I would never tell you traitorous scum!" The pegasus attempted to spit at his captors, but was raddled in pain when he breathed in. A coughing spell that came afterwards did little to ease the pain.

The masses of the conscripts advanced towards the mines. Behind them, dedicated regulars were pulling carts of explosive charges. The pegasus scouts were soon replaced by the air forces, which would swoop in behind the walls to wreck havoc and cover the general advance. There seemed to be very little that could stem this tide of ponies.

Now I don't know how you soldiers get treated, but if it was anything like what we have had to deal with you wouldn't blame us for our actions. We barely recieve enough to continue working. Do you know how hard it is to take care of a family when you hardly have enough for yourself. All we have asked for is sustenence and we have been denied time, and time again and we have decided to take action now, only after we have ran out of supplies. Even if we had decided not to revolt, this mine wouldn't be able to operate for more than a few more days and that's by workers who would have died with no food, water, or means to keep warm in these fridged temleratures. No longer will we be ignored. No longer will we follow those who make demands of us and give nothing in return." In a half choked whispered tone he says, "No longer shall I witness the light in foal's eyes fade to nothingness." He stood up straight and reaffirmed his authortiive stance. "It's hardly traitorous if you've been left to your lonesome." He then spoke to the ponies standing guard. "We go now. We return this ignorant boy to his commanders and hope they have a change of heart. Should they have ensured that all hope is lost in defending ourselves, flee towards the border and your families. Should you choose to stay, it is an honor to be among stallions who are willing to die for what they believe in." He turned back to the scout. "Let's see if they'll have you." They tied him to a makeshift stretcher and placed the bag back over his head. when it was taken off, they were outside, six total heading towards the supreme leaders assembly.

Fit's sighed. "Fine, I'll wear the blasted thing. But when I don't wear it I get a little uncomfortable. And in turn I don't act like myself. But I'm sure it wouldn't worry you." He started changing in the carriage. It didn't take him long to take off his kilt and put it in his bag, along with his flat cap and shirt. Now instead of his smile he had a slight frown. "And it's funny. We're trained to kill as well. But with a little more malice. But we are also trained to have control so we can hold back or put more into if we wanted to.

 

And I ain't fought with sticks since I was a lad. So do I also have to use one from someones ares, cause it seems like everyone hear has one." He gave a dry chuckle.

"Give your all, or none at all is more along what we focus on. An enemy soldier is great for using up needed resources of the enemy, but we are constantly moving forward so the wounded don't get a chance to return to return to their lines, and us returning them ourselves is out of the question. We'd rather have them finished off in the first place than have to deal with them but they will be tended to if we must.

 

You look good in that by the way. Of course everypony looks good in an Abendstern uiform. I was thinking more along the lines of competitive sparring where no one would get seriously injured. If you want those kind of sticks, then you should be glad that I'm not one of the High Command Unicorns. They've got it in both ends. Shall we set off?"

He bows again, removing his hat. After staying that position for about 5 seconds, he stands up, without putting his hat back on.

"I have been part of a convoy meant to seek and negotiate with other nation, my lord. I have found that our nations have a lot in common and was hoping some sort of.... agreement... could be made."
