First time drawing using charcoal pencils....

Beautiful! Well done! That's a great job for working charcoals for the first time, I'm impressed. Now, if I may make a suggestion? If you're going to continue working in charcoal and, just in case you may not know about it already, you can use a small, paper device with a point on it like a pencil called a Stump. You can use the Stump to blend and do gradient work just like you would using your finger but, because of the point, it'll give you cleaner edges at outlines and allow you to work more precisely with blending and creating tonal and texture gradients in your work.

Nicely done! :D

However as Poni-namous mentioned a stump is invaluable when using charcoals. Then there is another tool that I find practical for shading with charcoal, eraser pencils w/ a brush (dip the brush in some charcoal-dust).
