gaming Dissidia Final Fantasy

So I was scouring the internet as usual, and I just happened across some interesting news.

There's another Dissidia Final Fantasy in the works. Right now, there's only plans for it to be released in Japanese arcades, but I'm not so secretly hoping for console port plus a localization, naturally. Anyway, they showed that it will have 3v3 combat and of course the graphics are much better when you're not working with a psp.

Here's the trailer they released:

Dissidia has always been that series that I felt could do so much more on a bigger screen and it looks like they're finally taking that step.

For those of you which have never heard of Dissidia ( a quick and dirty explanation of the previous games)

It's basically Square's version of a dream match type of  fighting game. In other words, this is the Final Fantasy version of Super Smash Bros. Well, loosely; the game plays nothing like a traditional fighter and plays nothing like Super Smash bros. either.

The game works with a system using 2 major types of attacks, brave and hp. The brave attacks build your own brave while lowering the opponents. The hp attacks turn the brave you've built up into actually damage to the opponent's hp.

The move sets were customizable. You choose 3 air brave attacks, 3 ground brave, 3 air hp, and 3 ground hp. There were a lot of RPG elements as well: equippable gear raising and lowering various stats as well and gaining exp and levels.

Well, there you have it, a Dissidia topic. A topic where we can talk about how much we love pummeling Final Fantasy characters with other Final Fantasy characters and how the music alone blows Super Smash Bros. out of the water.

I liked playing the first Dissidia but I never ended up beating it. The final boss was a total douche. Like...the difficulty jumps from manageable to LOLFUCKYOU. Never beat it, never will.

But I still like to play it because you can get some pretty epic fights in spite of it's seemingly repetitive formula.

Never played Duodecim but probably won't get it if this third one comes over here.

My main was Cloud. The weight of his sword made knocking enemies around pretty easy and it played a huge part of my strategy.
