Any Pro-Wrestling Fans Around?

I singled this out specifically.

My reason for this is every year in the "Smackdown" series I find myself putting at least half of the roster on the free agent list because they are either jobbers or I don't like a majority of the roster.

I would just really like to pick and choose who I want.

I mean sure, I'd probably only have about 60 wrestlers total, females included,

but, at least they would be people I would use.

Pick your own roster. Now, that sounds amazing. My full roster would consist of 72 wrestlers, and maybe a couple jobbers.

How do you think they would set that up, though? If they were to include every single wrestler, and have you pick who you want to have on your game, the full count would probably get to at least 400 superstars. Could the game even handle that many? Or could they even program that many?

I don't know.

Maybe you order the game through their website and before checkout they give you a list of wrestlers available from previous games.

Then, you place your custom order and hope for the best. :P

That's genius! That way everybody is happy. Nobody will complain that someone was left out. It would be the ultimate wrestling game. Comes with all the same features, but the roster would be of your own choice.

Too bad it's never gonna happen. And even if it did, I doubt that Owen Hart, Chyna, CM Punk, Hulk Hogan, or Chris Benoit would be on the checklist.

Yeah, their would have to be some people left unhappy but the majority would be happy and hopefully that would stop people form complaining about people being left out, like "The Four Horsewomen" last year, for example.

It would, and leaving out Hogan and Benoit wouldn't be the worst thing. I'd still get the game. But, I'd miss Hogan's goofy taunts and his ridiculous finishers. He was always one of the funniest computers to watch. Mostly cause of the cross chop move.

Got some news on a more serious note.

Former NWA and ECW Champion Terry Funk apparently faces some serious health issues. He was scheduled to be in Tommy Dreamers corner last night, at an ECW reunion show in Phily, but due to him feeling dizzy, he went home immediatly, after giving one more promo.

Here is the vid:

Hope Terry gets better. Met him back in 2005. Incredibly nice guy. Got an autograph from him. :)

Question. What would a wrestling game have to have to be perfect to you?

For me.

-A good unrestricted roster. What I mean by unrestricted, is that wrestlers aren't left out due to current status.

(Retirement, Quit, Switched Companies, Dead,etc.)

-Alternate attires and looks for every wrestler.

-The Ability to edit the roster's move set, look, entrance, and attire.

-Import music to use for your created superstar.

-Create-A-Titantron. I'm really sick of using the default WWE one.

-Backstage areas that can be accessed during a match.

-Fighting in the crowd.

-Special moves with weapons.

-A good Season mode where you can choose to interrupt matches, start feuds with other wrestlers, and attack wrestlers when not in a match.

-Tons of match types. We're talking buried alive, royal rumble, hell in a cell, inferno, special referee, etc.

-Special referee. Being able to choose whoever you want to be the special referee. HTCP had Special referee, but you were limited to a pathetic 6 superstars to choose from.

-A good control scheme. Like HTCP or Wrestlemania XIX.

-Character Creator has to have a good amount of customization. While I do like making serious caws. I really loved creating freaks of nature and seeing just how far I could go.

-A good amount of arenas to choose from. Including PPVs. Along with some extra arenas.

(Just picture it. Big Show vs Undertaker on the moon.)

-Create-An-Arena

For people who want to re-create arenas that aren't in the game. Or people like me, who just like to create the craziest stages.

-Blood

-Satisfying looking and sounding moves. Especially finishers.

The new games fail at this. Slamming someone on the mat doesn't look or sound as near as satisfying as Wrestlemania XIX or Day of Reckoning 2.

-Cheats such as Big Head Mode and Squeaky voice mode. Just cheats that make the game more enjoyable.

-Passable graphics. For me they don't have to have 2K's graphics. Hell, they could even go back to Wrestlemania XIX's.

But, I would prefer that they get the size of the wrestlers right.

-The Ability to target the referee.

-Fair AI.

-Tag-Team/Stable/Group Entrances

-Create-A-Move/Create-A-Taunt

I'd throw in:

-Being able to port characters from sequel to sequel

-Allowing female CAW to compete against and in the same matches as guys, for the same championships.

-Actual story campaigns for CAWs. I don't wanna just grind my skills against various opponents, I want rivalries and storylines written just for the game.

-Create a championship

-Game OST during matches. Matches seem better paced and exciting w/ music during them.

-Good game OST. Face it. Wrestling's aggressive tendencies are tailor made for hard rock, punk and metal music. Keep those genre's and leave out all that pop, synth and rap garbage. And no entrance themes in the OST either.

-Choose your commentators. I don't J.R., Joey Styles, or Jessie Ventura would mind recording some lines for the game.

-WCW & ECW campaign modes.

-Not a gameplay thing, but how about holding a contest and letting fans design the cover. Cause there have been good ones.

-Have stages and locations otuside the -E, like those found in the indies.  From back-lots, to warehouses, to armories. I wanna see an arena of the Hammerstein ballroom. Also, stadium sized, open air arena's.

-Let the fans produce modded content.

Yes, Please! I miss hearing Good Ol' JR on commentary & Joey's awesome, too from the little bit of ECW I've watched.

-WCW & ECW campaign modes.

How about something like a  "How WWE Should've Booked: The Invasion Angle" type scenario

More like "10 things WWE wants you to forget about 2001." But in that vein, I can see an altered history theme going in. Where the actions of you the player change the history of the WWE, and then have to play through alternate wrestling histories. That in of itself guarantee's replay value.

That would be awesome!

Maybe, it could even have branching paths like No Mercy.

I agree. But, the problem is that the sequel might not have certain parts that your CAW has.

-Allowing female CAW to compete against and in the same matches as guys, for the same championships.

Allowing Female caws to go through season/story mode.

-Actual story campaigns for CAWs. I don't wanna just grind my skills against various opponents, I want rivalries and storylines written just for the game.

Most definitely. If I'm a heel, I want to be a real heel. I want to distract the referee, bring weapons to the ring, attack wrestlers backstage, and interrupt matches.

-Game OST during matches. Matches seem better paced and exciting w/ music during them.

Or how about importing custom music to play during matches?

-Choose your commentators. I don't J.R., Joey Styles, or Jessie Ventura would mind recording some lines for the game.

If that were to happen, I'd probably choose JR and King. And perhaps Taz, JBL, and Vince McMahon to mix it up.

-Let the fans produce modded content.

Definitely. We are sort of getting there with the downloadable CAWS.

Agreed.

I hate feeling like the only way I can be a villain in these games is if I make it up in my head.

Meanwhile, the AI is kicking your ass with chairs, double teaming you backstage, and powerbombing you into tables.

Yeah.

How is Roman Reigns the "Good Guy" in that scenario, again?

I don't have a clue. Always pissed me off how in 2K15's career mode, the photo of the match would be me getting my ass kicked.

Even when I won.

Didn't it also give you really weird "Authority Objectives", too?

Like, "Have your OPPONENT win with a finisher" or something like that?

I'm sure it was, that's why I prefer Universe Mode.

Sure, it may have its odd booking decisions here and there but, at least I can edit it to make it enjoyable.

I never played that one. I mainly stuck to exhibition and Showcase. The showcases were by far the best part of the game and the only enjoyment I really got out of it.

Universe Mode is basically "Exhibition Mode with a calendar" and I mainly use it instead of Exhibition Mode for that reason.

I just like to keep things organized, I guess.

Yeah. You design the logo and pick which superstars you want to represent your brand. Along with the Create-An-Arena and the ability to edit wrestler attires. Imagine the possibilities.
