Any Pro-Wrestling Fans Around?

Before we get to the good stuff that went down we'll need to address the not so good.

As you may have heard, a fan crashed the HoF and atacked Bret Hart and Natalya. Luckily he didn't do any lasting harm as probably half the locker room, including The New Day, Kurt Hawkins, Dash Wilder, Braun Strowman and Rhonda's husband, UFC's Travis Brown all layed into the guy. And like true professionals, they continued on with the show.

And in other news from G1 Super Card, and I can't believe I saw this live and I'm not gonna spoiler it cause I don't think it made the broadcast, but the end of the tag title match was crashed. By Enzo and Cass.

They got into quite the scuffle w/ the Briscoe's and even Bully Ray came out to restrain them. Not sure if work or a shoot or a worked shoot.

Security sure made it look like a work to me. The fact that they didn't immediately escort them out made me believe this was the case. :mlp_wat:

Yeah WrestleTalk just busted it. ROH retweeted a post about it. I noticed the security thing too but I thought they were confused as well on whether to intervene in a scuffle between wrestlers.

Enzo and Cass to ROH. For some reason.

Apparently, he's an amateur MMA fighter or something. That might explain the takedown.

Not seeing it pop up much. But then again there isn't much to begin with. Wonder if he was trying to make soem sort of vague 'wrestlers are fake' statement.

Well, it did happen yesterday so I think people are more focused on WrestleMania at the moment.

Here is a video regarding the incident.

Either that or they're still buzzing over Takeover Brooklyn & G1 Supercard.

If I may comment on Bret Hart. As I've said before, I wished that all 5 Hart Foundation members were inducted last night, including Owen Hart, British Bulldog, and Brian Pillman. Maybe they'll get in next year.

I'm happy with the results of WrestleMania 35. (Are we still allowed to use numbers? :P

WRESTLEMANIA 35 WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP MAIN EVENT SPOILERS

Spoiler

I am *so* happy that Becky Lynch won, albeit in "controversial fashion".

Hopefully, that means we'll finally get a one on one match between Rousey & Lynch

at some point down the line without Charlotte Flair being forced in in some convoluted way.*

*Wait. Charlotte will probably "deserve" a rematch, too since she was also a participant in the match at WrestleMania.

For the record,  I think Charlotte Flair could possibly be the best female wrestler in WWE at the moment

but I'd like to see her feud with someone besides Becky Lynch for a little while.

Yeah, not a fan of the finish. Way too sudden for my tastes. And according to Uncle Dave, the finish wasn't a botch either, apart from the shoulders being up. But it as changed last minute, as those backstage felt a submission wouldn't be believable.

Spoiler

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but in hindsight I think Kofi/ Bryan should've headlined. It was the better match with a far more feel good moment.

And it's a good thing I skipped over to that match mid-champion's entrance, because apparently WWE spoiled the result w/ both brand new day merch released 30 minutes prior and the old WWE title belt being hidden not so subtly. Dodged a bullet there.

And in other news, GallAnderson are on their way out. We'll see if they're AEW bound or NJPw re-bound. And for good reason. First they get their network special cancelled after one episode.

And then WWE does this.

So with the mediocre madness that was the Raw after Mania, we can talk about the real main attraction of the weekend.

th?id=OIP.l61PLaX-iavc2SP6jlYrzwHaHa&w=1

That was the loudest crowd I have ever been with. Biggest too probably. What else can you expect from the world's most famous arena in one of wrestling's favorite cities.

IMG_20190406_193018.thumb.jpg.89fed9ecbc276d8c44ab33ebfa403fc8.jpg

IMG_20190406_193024.thumb.jpg.35efb715c1e4592f1a6569d04a82f4e7.jpg

IMG_20190406_220311.thumb.jpg.aaa697d63f664dd429dff8ffaab4adef.jpg

Sadly I missed the women's tag and the honor rumble, as well as seeing Jushin 'Thunder' Liger live out his dream of competing at MSG. If I hadn't just seen him at Wrestlecon, my whole trip would've been bitter sweet. For some reason the time listed on the ticket doesn't include the preishow.

But thankfully I still made it to the main show on time. Was really tempted to get a replica of that gorgeous ROH world championship, but I've already spent myself into oblivion on this trip.

Also, I'm going full spoiler, so if you haven't caught the show in the last four days, turn back now.

First official match was a banger. ROH TV champ Jeff Cobb vs. NEVER openwight champ. Will Osprey in a title vs. title match.

IMG_20190406_193523.thumb.jpg.1049aa746d7a37dda7cfaf537773b3e3.jpg

1538090998_BBBundle2045.thumb.jpg.dcf804d7c51f2bd90fa0781f858c71d3.jpg979219021_BBBundle2046.thumb.jpg.9aa06b569b0cea026a8e1930313c44dd.jpg

Classic power house vs. high flyer clash of styles, and no better personification of those than Cobb and Osprey repetitively. They worked well together, plenty of awesome spots, especially Osprey going for an Os-cutter, getting caught in mid air, thrown into the corner, only to rebound and hit the os-cutter on Cobb anyways. Unfortunately for Osprey, that would be his last hurrah as Cobb hit will with a tour of the Islands powerslam from the top, followed by a second one proper for the win.

683226751_BBBundle2047.thumb.jpg.9e1701a2ad86329f76af2f3900930d89.jpg

Now the next match I missed because I had to run to the bathroom. It was 'Party Peacock' Dalton Castle vs. 'El Toro Blanco' Rush in a match that sounds really good on paper. Dalton even got an elaborate entrance, riding to the ring on a platform equipped with giant peacock feathers and flanked by an army of 'boys.' But apparently on my way to the bathroom, the match had already finished. Apparently one of the boys left a feathered fan in the ring. Dalton went to snag it and Rush capitalized, winning in under a minute. Which lead to a full blown heel turn from Castle and an attack on his boys. Not what I would've done but we'll see where this leads.

By the time i got back, the women of honor were making they're entrances. Mayu Iwatani defending her newly won Women of Honor belt against former champ 'Gatekeeper' Kelly Klein.

2099458337_BBBundle2048.thumb.jpg.c5731a91a8cd331fef8fe3bcb55e1d4b.jpg1590461964_BBBundle2049.thumb.jpg.34094f92af7fd44eb71e3e0837480514.jpg

Now ROH excels over WWE in many things, but the women's division is one of those things that needs work. Not the highest priority for ROH and it shown with how indifferent the crowd was for most of this. Still, two good workers here. They really got behind Mayu and her baby face comeback, but it was Kelly winning with a kneeling fire woman's carry slam to retake her belt in surprising fashion, making her the first two time WOH world champion.

1194528989_BBBundle2050.thumb.jpg.aff46201172df57a4464d0f6088fc8d5.jpg

Now normally Klein is sorta like Shayna Baszler in that she's the sadistic MMA bully. But here, she sent her corner crew away and shook Mayu's hand after the match in a babyface turn. A bit of an odd move we all thought.

Until we got our first debut of the night and it all made sense. Because who walks down the ramp but Angelina Love and Velvet Sky, formerly known in TNA as the Beautiful People. They look like they're gonna gang up on Klein, but then Mandy Leon showed up to back up Klein. But we've seen this before, and wouldn't you know it? Leon clocked Klein with a high heel, thus turning such in the process and revealing the new group as The Allure.

So what, The Dazzling People or The Beautiful Party weren't available for trademark?

Anyways next was rapper Mega-Ran, who is apperently a nice guy, a talented rapper and die hard fan. But this was not the place, the time or the crowd to have a musical performance in front of and this segment died. Thankfully Bully Ray was there to save the day. And by that I mean be a bully and send Mega Ran packing. Wonder if this is some kinda meta commentary on WWE and musical performances.

1438210446_BBBundle2051.thumb.jpg.783162b46c76b44acb2776c417e0efbd.jpg

Thus began Bully's open challenge street fight. Which was originally answered by Juice Robinson, but Bully apparently jumped him backstage. So who comes out next but Bully's longtime nemesis, Flip Gordon, back from injury.

167640283_BBBundle2052.thumb.jpg.329235e37773b41b50ad30f172945d5f.jpg

Of course once things get going Flips way, Shane Taylor and Silas Young show up for the beat down.

47848790_BBBundle2053.thumb.jpg.d72a374806351baccd7e7d1ebe6d5cfe.jpg

Only for Flip to be saved by Juice and Mark Haskins of LifeBlood, making it an impromptu six man street fight. Which got very brutal, very fast. such as Shane Taylor being run over with a rolling storage bin filled with weapons, and everyone breaking kendo sticks over eachothers back. I'm not exaggerating. Pieces of kendo stick flew into the audience.  Flip's back was a mess after this. He's as much of a masochist as Osprey. We got people being hip tossed into wooden loading pallets. Double stomps onto heads onto chairs. Bully Ray calling Shane Taylor D-Von. That got a nice "He's not D-Von!" chant. Everyone hits their finisher onto Bully for the win. Very fun match.

943555180_BBBundle2054.thumb.jpg.2c587f07ae2441b6e4c870a2c35ef036.jpg987888914_BBBundle2055.thumb.jpg.99406afeac118873407ede59efb8431a.jpg272446562_BBBundle2056.thumb.jpg.d5c8b3d033b9c0b6f32cb982f274640c.jpg1016489903_BBBundle2057.thumb.jpg.7577be17b5b38dfa629067f2423f2b69.jpg

1256994993_BBBundle2058.thumb.jpg.8f8fe9b5b6b9b9acdb76ef04f65de150.jpg

Next up: The IWGP Jr. title triple threat. Taiji Ishimori defending against Banditio and Dragon Lee. Short match, but crazy match. I could barley keep up with all the insanity.

1530884469_BBBundle2060.thumb.jpg.5521842155c55b879b8ebc88084a01db.jpg1119010795_BBBundle2061.thumb.jpg.fd7cb19d964f09f98e4de3c57cc26006.jpg466197302_BBBundle2062.thumb.jpg.ba9c5e09efd1159601f42490ea31f8cb.jpg

One spot in particular was Bandito hitting both Lee and Ishimori with a double moonsault slam off the top.

617537738_BBBundle2063.thumb.jpg.734d5b2c987e460313c46a2edc2d796b.jpg

But the result we got was a shocker. Dragon Lee pinned Bandito to become the new champion. Can't say he doesn't deserve it. Bandito was honorable in defeat and put the belt on Lee. Looking forward to see where this takes them both.

884352906_BBBundle2067.thumb.jpg.5cfab4594612d3be4c08f4a2cdab4d67.jpg

Another winner take all match, this time for the IWGP heavyweight and ROH world tag team titles. Briscoes vs. Evil/Sanada vs. G.o.D. vs. PCO/Brody King. PCO getting a sick Frankenstein-esq entrance too.

483640270_BBBundle2070.thumb.jpg.3c61a5aa265173113b907a5c4d795488.jpg

2049098470_BBBundle2072.thumb.jpg.62ef3f4b40ed2570391ada406baf3e28.jpg

A whole lot happened. Too much to cover. But I do remember PCO getting double powerbombed by GoD from the ring straight down to the arena floor and he landed hard. All of us up front could hear it. That lead to GoD pinning King to win both belts. And apperently Toru Yano snuck down to ringside and stole the IWGP belts. But no one noticed, because as you may have heard by now, somebody crashed the match.

Will continue in part two because I'm only allowed 25 photos.
