On another note- someone tried to make a bet with me that CM Punk will show up at Survivor Series in November and I have a weird feeling that he just might show up. Or maybe the rumble, but that depends on other factors. I'm mixed about him in general, but I think it will eventually happen.

Imagine if CM Punk faced Roman Reigns and Punk's former advocate Paul Heyman cost him the WWE Championship. :orly:

That would be something interesting. However, Cody would be in shambles in the corner constantly muttering, “Gotta finish the story”. I still think he will get back into the fold somehow.

That and the Rock’s recent appearance  may be an indicator that they may do a Roman vs Rock at mania. I think that was confirmed to be the original plan a good while back for a previous mania, but it fell apart.  I think with the recent writer’s strike affecting schedules, they may pull the trigger now that they have the Rock available.

Narratively, I think it’s a weird spot to do the match now, but that is a huge money match and I can’t see WWE not doing it now. It’s great to see the Rock, but I don’t want him anywhere near a title match at this point of his career. I rather have Cody or Punk at this point.

If you guys are recording Dynamite, you maybe screwed. Young Sheldon is scheduled to record instead. But Dynamite is airing right now!

You may have to catch what came before on B/R, Fite or NJPW World with a VPN.

This. I've been seeing a lot of this opinion a lot more lately. I was interested in AEW when it first came out, but then when I saw that it wasn't too much good, I just stopped watching completely. The only thing that made me interested was the backstage drama and some of the MJF segments in particular. That was much more entertaining than the actual shows. I listen to various podcasts, one of them being Jim Cornette's, he will highlight AEW/WWE events on his show, he does give credit/mention some good things about the shows, but he generally thinks they are on the decline from what I hear from him and what I recall seeing myself. I barely care for AEW at all now.

The Jade Cargill news makes sense as she seems to be setting up for bigger and brighter things down the line. I sense a Lex Luger/Goldberg type of run/vibe from her down the line.

As for the recent Edge news I heard- I'm happy for the guy to get some good retirement money from Tony Khan. I heard conflicting reports that he may do a final retirement program with Cristian or may do more. If so, we may see a Edge & Cristian vs Hardy Boyz vs Dudleys vs Young Bucks or whatever other team in AEW down the line since all those pieces seem to be setting up from what I remember(I could be remembering who is over at AEW wrong).

On another note- someone tried to make a bet with me that CM Punk will show up at Survivor Series in November and I have a weird feeling that he just might show up. Or maybe the rumble, but that depends on other factors. I'm mixed about him in general, but I think it will eventually happen.

I agree with a lot of what you said, @StarlightNyars.

I just have no respect for Tony Khan or the EVPs and especially Dave Meltzer.

I like to watch Jim Cornette too even though I don’t agree with everything he says.

Tony Khan's handling of things in general is downright disappointing and unprofessional from what I've been hearing. Dude should have stayed away from the product and have somebody else booking/have a creative team.

The EVPs are just terrible and I'm glad their true identities are slowly coming out. When I told people in the past they there seems more to them than meets the eye, they scoffed at me, but I'm glad more things are coming out regarding them. I recall Cody's initial interviews when he came back to WWE hinted at issues with the EVPs.

I agree regarding Meltzer. Fans should not take Dave Meltzer's opinions too seriously and I'm glad that people are finally seeing through his outright bias for the Elite.

Yeah, sometimes Cornette can go off the rails, but just like everything else, everyone has their personal preference of what they would like to see from a wrestling show.

You can see that Cody leaving was a good call for him.

Tony Khan has been awful lately with his booking and the way he has handled a lot of stuff.

But his face and words can be fun to use as memes, lololololol.

They really are full of themselves and this is an unpopular opinion but I think the EVPs are ridiculously overrated.

Also, the more I hear about the CM Punk situation and stuff, the more I'm leaning towards agreeing with Punk because the inmates run the asylum in AEW and I would've fired Jack Perry too since he's actually a nobody and another extremely overrated guy.

The fact that Meltzer has never given Kurt Angle any 5 star ratings shows that he has no idea what he's talking about and has a complete bias towards The Elite.

I also wanna say thank you to Chris Van Vliet to standing up to Uncle Dave and questioning him about his ridiculous star ratings.

That's really true and I love watching him destroy Dave and others especially the wrestler I hate the most in AEW, Orange Cassidy.

The fact that Meltzer gave him the best gimmick award but gave the worst gimmick award to The Fiend is ridiculous.

And another thing, Rock V Hogan was 5 stars, one of the greatest matches I've ever seen.

Oki, rant is over for now, lolololololol.

Tony Khan always looks like he just woke up and remembered that he has a wrestling show that's going on RIGHT NOW!  :blink:/:P

Oh I agree with a majority of what you said here buddy!

The whole Punk situation was ridiculous. Both sides could have handled things much better. I still think there was a conspiracy against Punk since he was much more over than almost the entire  AEW roster. The EVPs did not like him at all since he made negative comments about their style of wrestling over time. The only reason why they have tolerated Moxley, Jericho, and Danielson is because they play along with their agenda. I say this as someone who never really liked Cm Punk. Jack Perry should’ve been fired for everything he has done.

Chris Van Vliet’s interview with Uncle Dave was great and showed that the thought process behind the rating system is silly. I understand that it’s his personal rating system, but the logic behind it makes no sense when he elaborated on it.

Dave Meltzer is an example of a guy who made a six figure salary off a profession that he’s never been in.

Anyway, I’ll stop ranting here as I could go  more into detail, but I’d like to start my morning here eventually lol

Jim Cornette has an amazing memory and listening to his stories from the classic days of wrestling is fun.

The whole show is up on TBS.com.  Just need to sign in with your cable provider.

How I have to now watch it no thanks to Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon. :unamused:

So you know how VKM got his job back by holding WWE's media rights negotiations hostage? Then used his class B voting shares to cull the board of directors?  Then made him retaining his position as a requirement for a sale, one that was accepted in the merger with the UFC?

Well, all that may have backfired. As the UFC side of the merger and their investors don't have the same skewed perception of McMahonland as those who've served for years. Vinny's age and his antics are seen as a liability to creative endeavors and the share price. Which is why VKMs position in the company has been reduced to pretty much a ceremonial one, at least in the creative space. HHH has effectively been knighted the head of creative, as you may have noticed with the more NXT style influence on Raw & SD. Kinda like how Theodore Roosevelt was removed as a political threat by being made VP, only for the real pres to be removed from power and Teddy made the old establishments worst fears come true.

Also, former NWA & Impact world champ Nick Aldis is now the SD GM. And done so in a way that didn't bury fellow NWA world champ. Adam Pierce, who's now being moved to Raw. Must be a nice breath of fresh air to have management not by a bunch of pricks for probably the first time in over 25 years.

And yes, I can see how'd that round it's way back to the non-kayfabe side of things with Tony Khan in AEW. Yes, it may not have been wise to go all out on social media. Dude really should have an advisor and probably leave social media, if only for his own mental well being. I don't blame him. When else do you get to tell WWE how you really feel? And really, WWE fans haven't helped matters. AEW existing has brought out their worst. It's about time somebody spoke up and talked back.

I know we're all better than that here. But just a reminder that on the other side of that screen is also a person and in this case, a fellow fan. I think we can all come together over our passion of the sport of kings.
