Whose way or the highway is it in Danhausen and Hook's case?  Also, how long will this team keep rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin?

Danhausen just wanted to Build a Bridge for Hook to have a little Faith, even though both are giving off different Dad Vibes.

Well we might have some good news on the Puro-wresu front. Kevin Kelly has heard rumblings that restrictions are being rolled back and that clap crowd protocol maybe lifted. Fans can make noise again! And they might be able to start at the BotSJ final at Ryugoku. Soon after that it'll be Dominion with Okada vs. Jay White II and CyberfightFest with Go Shiozaki defending the GHC heavyweight title against his New Japan predecessor, Satoshi Kojima.

June is gonna be noisy.

@TheRockARooster I watched a video about the KISS Demon on Youtube, just type "WCW Blunder" and I'm sure you'll see it. :)

I'm serious about the title, btw because it's a series about WCW's weird storylines and stuff.

Spoiler

Two things:

1. I bet AEW will create a "WrestlerMania" PPV just so Punk can say he was in the main event of a "WrestleMania". :orly:

2. Was the MJF "no show" story real or did the match with Wardlow have a replacement opponent?

Sounds like it was a shoot until just before the show. They pulled advertising for the show. Then put it back on. MJF no showed a meet n' greet, which kind of goes against AEW's commitment to fans, so that sounds like a shoot. Still not clear but either Tony worked a last minute deal or called MJF's bluff. Rumor has it the plan for an MJF no show was just to have Wardlow win by count out and ruin Max's credibility out the door. But since he did the job and they didn't use the diamond ring spot to put him over, me thinks he's staying.

I get the frustration and that WWE is a hell hole to work in. But I also see why it was unprofessional. Sasha and Naomi gave their word to show up. They broke that word. If the creative was that bad, you do the job you promised, then you ditch. Or you ditch before the show and give time for things to be adjusted.

Max also gave his word, then threatened to no show. He agreed to the PPV, so to threaten not to show up just because he thinks he's worth more is also unprofessional.

I get wrestling is unfair and employees should be valued more. But they're not the only ones being affected here.

I'm totally on WWE's side in this situation. I mean, yeah, creative sucks but it sucks for everyone even the Main Event stars.

Part of me thinks this whole thing is a work because WWE didn't *have* to mention Sasha and Naomi on TV last week and they did

plus they suspended them without pay and you know they won't be getting any big pushes if they return.

I'm on AEW's side with this, too. That's an "MJF" kind of move but it's legit which, is nuts!

6-2-22

Well, here are my thoughts on MJF's promo:

Spoiler

MJF's promo felt like a wrestling promo the second he said:

"You want to hear me talk? I’ll talk but this is Max Friedman talking."

it was like "Ok. This is just a wrestling promo." plus all of the pacing, "wrestler yelling" &

tapping the microphone at the end took the legitimacy out of it for me.

Honestly, the fact that MJF went to the ring in the first place was what took the seriousness out of it for me.

Im starting to think the IWGP US title might be cursed.

-KENTA breaks his face, his hip and slices open his back defending against Tana.

-Sanada breaks his face and has to vacate.

-Osprey gets Covid and a kidney infection after challenging.

-Now record 3x time Juice Robinson will probably have to vacate after needing an appendectomy. No way will he make his Scheduled defense against a return Sanada.

I guess that belt really doesn't wanna leave the ace of the universe.

"put me back on Tanahashi. Or else..." said the big red belt.

And 180 90 goddamn matches later, I'm finally done with BotSJ.

You're winner!

Spoiler

image.thumb.png.e60b55d7fbc1f6a08044b40e54b6e396.png

Congrats to Hiromu for besting El Despy in the finals and being the first three-peat winner of BotSJ and the first to break Liger and Kannemoto's record to win the tournament for a 4th time. The reason he probably didn't win 2019 and make it 5 in a row was cause he was on the shelf. Hiromu will now face Taiji Ishimori for the Jr. title in the semi-main of Dominion this weekend the main event of their June 21st Koruken Hall show. .

Man, the injection of international stars really helped this year. Plenty of potential new megastars for the division in G-REx champ. El Lindaman, X-Division champ. Ace austin, Alex Zayne and PURE champ. Wheeler Yuta.

image.thumb.png.a9bc6f79c7131d2710a57c5388aa2884.png

Alex Zayne is like what would happen if Juice Robinson and David Finlay did the fusion dance. People were stunned that the frickin Taco Bell guy got to a 4-5 record. He's a keeper.

You ever wonder what would happen if the New Japan young lions just never left the dojo? well the end result would be the GLEAT G-rex champ. El Lindaman. The walking ray of sunshine who through heart, fundamentals and wrestlings greatest tan, managed to also get to 4-5. Says bright things about the GLEAT fed and Strong Hearts as a unit. Wish we would've seen more of them in AEW like was planned.

Yuta has shown some solid consistency. Sending him on excursion to BotSJ was a smart move. He's got some growing to do (needs a better finish than the seat belt clutch and modded Angle slam) but if he's this good now? Imagine how great he will be.

And Ace Austin. Crowd took to him and Zayne, the team of the Zest Friends, very well. Austin maybe a back stabbing prick in Impact, but he was nearly turned face in Japan by crowd will alone. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of him soon.

Outside of them, TJP is showing that he's not just a young vet and he's got plenty left to offer. His tag team with Akira has tremendous potential. Akira put on good matches. He's solid int he ring but, he's missing a bit of character. That fire(ball) to set him off. He had the same problem Matt Sydal, Jack Evans and Prince Devitt did and that Dante Martin does now. All talent. All fundamentally sound. But no personality other than happy to be here and trying my best. Though there's signs that maybe changing sooner than later as long as he keeps hanging with TJP. Again, he's this good now. Just how great will he be?

Honestly, I thought this was Robbie Eagle's time to win, with all his emotional victories in this tournament. Safe to say BotSJ 29 was his best work. Though if his interactions with Yuta are any indication, we maybe seeing him on AEW sooner than later.

No, you don't have to watch all 180 matches like I did (though you should. It's good prepwork for the G1 this August). But if I had to pick 10:

  • Wheeler Yuta vs. TJP
  • TJP vs. Robbie Eagles
  • Robbie Eagles vs. Wheeler Yuta
  • El Phantasmo vs. Douki
  • Alex Zane vs. Ace Austin
  • Francesco Akira vs. SHO
  • Ace Austin vs. Hiromu Takehashi
  • Franceaco Akira vs. Alex Zane
  • Robbie Eagles vs. El Desperado
  • Robbie Eagles vs. El Phantasmo

But it wasn't just the juniors that made big news. The last month has been busy for the Bullet Club. So if you hadn't heard:

  • Jay White has officially endorsed an alliance with the Undisputed Elite in AEW.
  • "Flash" Scott Norton is now a member of the Biz cLiz, becoming the only man to serve in both Bullet Club and the nWo.
  • Juice Robinson is no longer Flamboyant. He is now Rock Hard. And the newest IWGP U.S. champion, thanks to the BC. Unfortunately that maybe not for long due to suffering appendicitis day of the BotSJ final.
  • Big LG Doc Gallows made his New Japan return for the first time in over six years. Unfortunately Karl Anderson couldn't join him due to testing positive for Steve Corino. Though it's optimistic he'll be cleared in time to fight his protege, Tama Tonga.
  • Bad Luck Fale and Chase Owens are the new IWGP tag champs, winning in a three way thanks to a Midnight Express inspired rocket launcher elbow.
  • KENTA is back from nearly being murdered by Tanahashi.
  • ELP maybe looking to move to the heavyweight division and may have done just that with a win over Aaron Henare, thanks to a little assist from their newest member. :ooh: It's soon~!

image.thumb.png.a62aae541e76c6395a2a77e0fad3f87a.png

  • Welp, I guess Ace Austin impressed more than we thought. 5-4 in BotSJ, three weeks after his NJPW debut debut and Gedo went "Hey. Wanna join Bullet Club?" Pair him w/ both the Good Brothers & Chris Bey and Impact have got themselves a formidable branch of the BC.

For the first time since the OG/Elite split in 2018, Bullet Club is finally resembling a force of nature once again. Now if only they can cut the dead weight that is the House of Torture.

Wow. How long did it take to watch all 180 matches?

Okay in doing the math on that, I realized I actually watched 90 matches. First four shows with 5 tournament matches each. Then the last seven had 10 tournament matches every night. So imagine Raw if it actually had wall to wall wrestling. I spread that load across three weeks to cram in AEW and memorial day weekend festivities and it still was an endurance test.

So about 30 hours.

I can only watch one maybe two episodes of classic Raw and SmackDown each or one "Premium Live Event" before I get too tired.

I admire your dedication, BWBFF.

I'd ask what you're still watching in this day in age of recap raws, filler Smackdowns and OVW 2.0?
