Well my only other option would be to have introduced him at a moment that wasn't about to be followed by a night's sleep. From a narrative perspective, the pacing of that seems clunky is all.

 

If some time has passed and they feel comfortable enough that at least he's not going to kill them in their sleep, that's different. Just that:

 

"Nice to meet you total stranger, you can bunk next to me, good night!"

Also, having one of the party passed out and thus not actually meeting him is going to make things awkward. Guess it's not that different from how Xenith joined with Littlepip first and the others only met her later though.

A racist gesture? No. Take offense to it? Yes.

 

As far as Ezekiel is concerned, he would not see that as a reasonable measure of security, but a sign that they didn't trust him when he had done nothing to harm them.

 

By all means, if you wish to still do it, do it though.

So just taking a stab in the dark, are the Minotaurs supposed to kind of be like the Great Khans of Fallout: New Vegas fame?

Not fully sure... If anything i'd say more mutant from fallout 3 sense being their strong, beefy and huge lol

 

they're also small in number and usually captured for slavery

That's there physiology but if that were that mattered, we'd all either be Brahman, dogs, or . . . centaurs. *shudder*

 

I mean, the earth ponies and unicorns are typical wasteland humans, the pegasi are the Enclave, the Zebra are Caesar's Legion, and it's the alicorns that are the proxies of the Super Mutants.

 

Just going by the brief description, it seems Minotaur culture is very tribalistic but not quite hierarchal enough to be the Legion. So I just went with the Great Khans, especially with the horns and Greshken's name scheme.

 

The Super Mutant comparison would hold more weight if they were all dumb as bricks, impossibly violent, deliberate mutations, and telepathically slaved to the spawn of Lovecraft's fever dreams.
