Platium Red Tail 82 March 7, 2015 Share March 7, 2015 So if you seen Steam at all there making a Console / controller / Linking system and a VR Headset . So with all this new things coming out form steam, in your opinion will these new add-on be the end of the PS4 and XBOX 1 and make the PC the Master race console. So what do you think ? In this pony opinion I don't know , I mean I really want the VR headset .. ... .. ( For Skyrim and MLP Minecraft) but at the same time the problem on how I am going to play my Strategy games on that thing. But also I don't want the VR it to be only for FPS. I mean FPS are good from time to time but good god are they overdone and look a the price tag for like the VR and the console it self its like 1000$ and if you want to play your PC game on the big TV ... ... ... ... its called an HDMI cable !!! So the amount of money for all this stuff ... ... ... is it all wroth it ? ... ... .. ... ... ... .. (yes?) but in a small way I want to play MLP Minecraft and Skyrim on VR headset with a Walkpab to make it fell real but I am scared to drop like 1.000.000.000$ on it at the same time ... .. ..but at the same time I have no life and like 2 friends and l live in the woods sooooooooooo I got money on stand by for when it comes out cuz I am going to buy it ALL UP and I guess well see how it goes .... .... .. ... .. .. . . ... .. .. PS: ( People I talk to at work say that it will be the master console l so that reminders me of someone from my childhood ...... "The Unity will bring about the master race. Master! Master! One able to survive, or even thrive, in the wasteland. As long as there are differences, we will tear ourselves apart fighting each other. We need one race. Race! Race! One Goal. Goal! Goal! One people ... to move forward to our destiny. Destiny." (The Master) (Fallout 1) ...just replace "race" it with (console) it all sound very similar dose it not ). long gone 8,929 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 Actually, it's multiple companies making console-like PCs for Valve, rather than Valve themselves doing it; the only hardware Valve is supplying is the controllers. I'm not too big on them, as most of them are overpriced for what hardware they have ($1000 for a Core i3 and GTX 750? What?), and there's only one that gets price:performance right, the Syber one. Rest are overpriced for what hardware they have, in true prebuilt fashion.

Lisa 5,553 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 I personally think they'll fail. If a regular person wants a console, they'll go to the more popular ones. If a PC gamer wants a console (the Steam Machine in this case)... why the fuck would he want one when he's already got a PC with Steam on it? Tom Snyder 4,113 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 Personally, if they have no experience in doing such things, don't bother, it'll only make things worse for them. //// My persona and OC: Candy Star //// Ask me anything: Ask Candy Star //// My Music //// //// My DA: (OC requests available) ////
Mesme Rize 15,692 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 Why the hell would i want to play my pc games, on an overpriced console? I mean sure, i have a really big TV and i could imagine that they look nice and all, but 1000 bucks? With that money, i can almost buy all the next gen consoles. My OC Mesme Rize: >https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/mesme-rize-r8777 Thank you Randimaxis for this Wonderful Avatar. Please, don't be afraid to talk to me. I am not as unapproachable, as you might think.
Mouse 302 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 (edited) Pretty much what Colour said. Some console gamers may jump to a Steam Machine, but if anything the Steam Machines are just going to bring to their attention that they can build a full-fledged console-sized pc for much less money. The surprising thing to me is that the Alienware one is actually close to the best value. It's really saying something about your multi-branded product's price when Alienware has one of the best price:performance ratios. ChoroChii 284 March 8, 2015 Share March 8, 2015 Well.. I'm not sure how successful this'll become but I guess if console users can play PC games on consoles, go for it? For me, I'm sticking to what I know.
