Having quickly cheered up, even if it would only be brief, Spellbind was in hot pursuit, gleefully runing to the edge of the deck, giggling like some crazy pony, and leapt off, making a splash both louder and bigger than the one Tyra had made.

 

"Top that next time we jump in!" she challenged her.

 

Tyra perked up as she heard Spellbind's challenge. The last thing you want to do with Tyra is challenge her, that is if you aren't expecting her to accept it.

 

"I accept this challenge!" She smirked toothily, then proceeded to climb back onto the deck. Using her hindleg power, she hopped up into the air above the water and began a fast dive, making a louder and larger splash than Spellbind's.

 

"Hah! I am the victor!" She gloated.

Spellbind scrambled out of the water and back onto the deck then jumped off back into the water. With all her effort she landed in it, butt first, and made quite an admirable splash.... but it was still not as loud or large as Tyra's.

 

"Okay then, you win..." she said modestly.

Lordy refilled his pouch with dry powder and polished his musket... again. This time.... he left his shako in his room, which was probably the first time he did that, replacing it with a far shorter tricorn he had in his bag. Bullets, a officer sword, bandages, extra guinpowder packages, canned rations, water reserve, rolled tent and matress, a pan, a spoon and some more cooking materials, a small shovel, a saw, etc... he packed them all in his army bag and put it on, it must've weighed at least 40kg but... it was only the bare necessity for a proper expedition now wasnt it? He tied his musket to his bag on the right side of his body and slowly walked the stairs up on deck... ready to go.

"I dare say the water around here is much warmer than that of back home," she admitted.

Spellbind nodded. "I could stay in here all day. I'm used to seawater being cold and undesirable to be in."

 

"Hey what was that thing I did in the water when I'd had too much cider?" she asked. "I remember I'd done it a few minutes earlier, and it was something to do with you burping..."

 

Her eyes went as wide as dinner plates and she blushed furiously as she remembered.

Irritated after still not finding her bottle of rum, Caramel took her bag and walked outside, above deck. She saw Tyra and Spellblind swimming in the water. "Everypony, get yer bags ready, we're leaving in 10 minutes!" Caramel said loud so that everypony could hear her.

"Aye," Tyra muttered, a sheepish grin on her face at Spellbind's realisation, "I think you might recall."

 

She perked up at Caramel's command, and nodded in response. "Aye, we will be ready shortly!"

She turned to the unicorn and grinned. "It is time to get ready, then!"

 

She hopped onto the ship and climbed up to the deck, and sprinted downstairs to her quarters. She put on her tunic and helmet, then fastened her axe's harness with her teeth.

Smirking, she jogged back up to the deck and stood before Caramel, saluting.

 

"I am ready to begin our journey!" She declared.

Rave came above decks as well. He had packed all of his necessities for the journey into the saddlebag. He was ready to take on the ruins and possibly the shipwreck. He approached Caramel. "I am ready for the journey, Captain Caramel". His ears were a bit lowered when he had approached, but he had taken a deep breath when arriving and bulged his chest out, to make himself look determined.

Spellbind was pretty darn embarrassed, but was able to make herself better knowing that Tyra had belched, which was also pretty disgusting. Still, she decided to drop the topic.

 

She went onto the deck and into her quarters. She checked her pack which she had already assembled last night. She took it and went to join the others. "Ready!"

"Good, three here, only five more to go." Caramel said a bit grumpy. She was pacing around on deck waiting on the rest of the crew. She was already on an edge and she was getting impatience. "Lets go ponies, get yer flanks over here." she yelled, hoping the rest would hurry up and get here.

Tyra tilted her head, putting on an expression of concern at Caramel's impatience. She had never seen her so on-edge before.

 

"You seem rather anxious, friend," she spoke up, walking forward to the captain, "is there something wrong? Perhaps we can assist?"

Lordy Stumbled on deck with his  pack full... He was wobbling a bit... but after a few steps he got the hang of it.... He was used to carrying a lot of equipment. He propably had the largest pack on-deck but that didnt seem to bother him. He straighterned his tricorn and saluted,

"Ready to advance, when needed."

"Everything is fine." Caramel said a bit snappy toward Tyra. "Nice for you to join us for once, Lordy." Caramel said as she looked at his over packed bag. "Are ye sure ye need that much stuff. We're not staying there for a whole week, ye know." Caramel said looking at him weird.

Wilhelm came up from the deck, dressed in light tropical expeditionary gear (with a beige fedora (light grey band), because why in Tartarus not) and with saddlebags packed full of necessary items, namely the Ars Demonica, two bundles of arrows, a vial of holy water, two breaching charges, a notebook and waterproof pencil, a daisy and mustardseed sandwich, a spare pair of glasses, a roll of bandages, his bow, and his sword (now cleaned of the black blood which had marred it earlier).

 

Calmly walking up onto the deck, he shifted his load slightly to the side, and then stood at attention, ramrod straight. Straightening his fedora, he said evenly "Reporting for duty, Miss Caramel." He looked at Lordy, and the barest hint of a smirk graced his face, but then he turned forward again and it was back to a expressionless "waiting face".

Rave was starting to feel sad. Was this his doing? Had he done something wrong when he had slept besides Caramel. Had he hurt her in some way? Was he perhaps not supposed to be there with her? He was a bit confused, but he held his expression, not saying anything.

"Just basic expeditionary needs... usewd to carry them all the time. nevert know when you might need something now would you. I mean its just a..."

He started listing most of the things he had packed... but then stopped after listing about 10 items as he realized it wasnt really appropriate.

"Oh, um, very well," Tyra muttered, not exactly convinced by Caramel's answer, but she was the captain, so she would have to respect it.

 

She grinned as Lordy and Wilhelm appeared to join with the group, along with Spellbind and Rave. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the curious hat on Wilhelm's head.

@@Unicorncob,Spellbind as she had done yesterday leaned in to whisper into Tyra's ear so nopony else was able to hear them. "Caramel can be kind of... inpatient and snappy when it comes to stuff like this, but I'll agree that she seems a bit... over that line today," she commented. "Let's make sure she's happy."

Caramel looked at everyone standing in front of her. "Alright, So if I'm not forgetting any pony, the only ones not here are Scarlett, Violet and Assassin." Caramel said looking at the ones who were ready. "If they don't show up soon, I'm going to go without them. Anypony disagree?" Caramel said still on edge.

Spelbind put her hoof in the air. "Why wdo we need to leave so quickly and urgently" she asked. "I understand that you may be getting impatient with all due respect Caramel, but if you can just force yourself to wait a bit longer, it will pay off when everypony is gathered."

"Aye," Tyra agreed, nodding to Spellbind before turning to Caramel, "I do not understand all this sudden rush."

 

She looked over to the islands. "It is not as if the ruins can sprout wings or legs and move away, yes? We have all the time in the world to find their secrets!"

Rave had to agree with the others. "The more of us, the easier the task. We can not handle all those ghosts as efficiently as if we were all together. The more of us, the safer. The more of us, the more to watch over each of our backs. I think that we should wait for the others".

Spellbind picked up the same thick but long rope she had used yesterday. She took off her hat and put the rope to her horn and tied it up around her horn. She winced a bit as she did it but she considered it to be necessary for whaere they were about to go.

"It's Captain, not Caramel.'' she said angry at Spellblind. "I'm not impatient, I just want to get of this freaking island but I'm not leaving without me treasure. I would just appreciated it if ponies would hurry up so that I can get this done and go home."

 

Caramel noticed her crew was not agreeing with her and turning against her but she wasn't going to admit that she was wrong. "Ye know what, I'm not gonna wait on anypony, I'll just go alone." Caramel said as she spread her wings. "I should have done this alone from the start." she said before she flew of in a hurry into the jungle.

Rave could not hold his formality any longer. "Caramel!" he yelled as he gave pursuit. "Get yourselves ready, I want you to go together as a group. I will try to track her down" he told the others. He started to teleport after her, trying to catch up with her, his magic having replenished.
