Rave was smiling to Caramel, to let her know that everything was alright. However, he stopped smiling when she said 'make the best of it' and started to blush. "Wh--what do you mean?". He was starting to get pretty nervous and he did not want to mess things up.

"Well I mean....uhm..I didn't mean like...uhm I uh...uh..never mind." Caramel stuttered and blushed. After calming down a bit she spoke again. "I meant that we don't have much time until we get to shore and we all part ways.  And I want to spend that last bit of time with you."

Rave felt that he was tearing up, but he was determined not to show Caramel that. He was sad when he was reminded of the little time the both of them had together. "And how will we spend that time" he asked, nearly a whisper, as his voice was a bit weak at the moment.

Caramel walked up to Rave and sat down on his bed where he was laying. "I don't know." Caramel said, putting her hoof to her face. "It was stupid idea to come here. I'm sorry. Why did I come here again? Nightmares, that's right" Caramel sat in silence for a long moment, looking at Rave.

I have been through a lot. Whatever problems you are dealing with, I want to help you with them. I want to be there for you always, be by your side". He leaned towards her and hugged her. Tears welled in his eyes.

Caramel hugged Rave back. "When they arrest me, I'm not going to come out of prison. I'm not going to escape and I don't want to. I have to pay for my crimes. I want to be with you but I don't want you to feel like you have to wait for me. I want you to move on with yer life. I hope you understand." Caramel said as she wiped away Rave's tears with her hoofs.

"I don't think that is fair. I have committed heinous crimes. Ruined another unicorns life, stolen dark artifacts, participated in attacks against Royal Guards and guard outposts throughout Equestria and I am a part of a rebellious organization. You think you are the only one that has to pay for your crimes? What are you running away from Caramel? What is it that hunts you so much that you don't want to be with me" he pushed himself away from Caramel. He was emotionally hurt. "No, I am afraid I don't understand. I can wait forever.... you don't love me, do you? That is it, you have discovered that what you felt is fake and you feel bad about it" he looked away from her with a pained expression.

"What? No, what are ye talking about? What I just told you is the the truth. Do you not trust me? Do ye think I'm lying? How dare you say that I don't love you." Caramel said angry. "I'm not pushing you away. I'M NOT RUNNING AWAY." Caramel yelled as she stood up, tears rolling from her eyes. "You say you don't understand eventhou you feel the same way about your crimes. Guilt. I feel guilty. I took somepony's life. I murdered somepony's husband. I took some foals father away. And that guilt eats you up from the inside." Caramel turning around, trying to hide her face. "It's not an excuse.'' Caramel said falling to the ground. "I thought you would understand that but you clearly don't."

Rave had a stern look on his face. He was not going to back away now. "No, you are running away. Serving time in prison is another form of escape" his voice had gotten a bit louder. "Do you think that you will be paying for what you did behind bars? No you won't. Do not delude yourself like that. I tried. I have killed dozens of ponies, each having a family of their own. I knew, but I was not able to control my dark magic, in most cases. However, in some, I did. I feel guilty of it everyday. I have been running away from it for a long time now". His voice softened. "But I have stopped. Now I am trying to pay it off with honest work, helping other ponies, doing my darn best in everyday life, instead of wasting it behind bars, rotting, doing nothing. I did not understand since you never told me you had killed another pony before..... If you want to wallow in self-pity, do so. However, the only way you are ever going repay for what you have done, is by trying to do something better. Commit your life into doing something better. That is at least a solution I can offer you". His voice broke. "I will always be there for you, but only if you let me. I love you". He began crying. "I am sorry". He lied down beside her.

"Going to prison might not make me pay but it will make me feel less guilty about what I have done." Caramel said calming a bit down but still crying. "I'm sick and tired of treating life like it's a party when it clearly isn't......You say that I am running away....but from what....I wanna know what that it is because I don't know myself."

Rave looked at Caramel. "You are running away from yourself. You are running away from your problems, the ones you have created. Yes, you might feel less guilty if you went to prison, but that is an escape. Instead of trying to do better, you are running away from your responsibilities". After that, he remained silent.

Tyra awoke with a long, loud yawn, stretching out her limbs. "Ahh, that was a good nap!"

 

She hopped out of her hammock and dressed herself before exiting her room and walking up to the deck.

She took a deep breath and grinned, before looking up and noticing the shattered mast.

 

"Sleipnir's mane," She muttered, trotting toward it, "The ship certainly took a thrashing. Perhaps Caramel will appreciate me trying to fix it!"

 

Grinning, she began looking around the mast, wondering what she could do with it.

Caramel nuzzled against Rave. "I'm sorry, I was wrong and you were right. I am running away from my responsibility and from myself, but that doesn't mean that I don't wanna be with you. It doesn't mean that I don't love you." Caramel said, putting on a little smile.

"Don't say that I am right and you are wrong. You were following your feelings". He nuzzled against Caramel as well. "Caramel, I love you. I will always love you. It will never go away. If you really want to go to prison, just know that I am not going to be forgetting about you and I will wait forever if I have to. Do you really think I can love someone else? I cannot. It is you who I love".

"I love you too, even more than cookies." Caramel said giving Rave a little kiss. "I'm still going to go to prison, but I'm going to try to make a deal so it won't be so long. I still want that money for the arrested. Especially since I got to fix up me ship after that last storm."

It was actually the first kiss he had gotten from Caramel ever since the fight with the Sea Monster. He blushed a bit. "I understand, but as I have told you, I don't need any money if you are still insisting that I get some. If you insist, then I will invest my money into repairing your ship".

Scarlett was completely unable to sleep. She gets up and begins to walk around the ship cloaked, mapping where everything was in her mind. She walks up onto the top deck where she see's Tyra standing by the mast. Walking towards her, she hears her say about fixing the mast.

She grinned widely, and looked toward the mast. "How do you suppose we should go about fixing this? Perhaps we should find some tools...?"

Looking at Tyra she says "Does the Captain keep any tools anywhere?"

Scarlett turns round to face Captain Caramel and holds in a laugh at the reason as to why she was here. "Tyra just got shocked by me appearing beside her again. And that's never going to get old"

 

"And by the way, do you have and tools? Tyra here wants to fix your mast"

"Oh, Caramel!" She grinned widely, then nodded, "Aye, it was simply Scarlett appearing from thin air! I admit I did not expect it."

Rave arrives on top of the deck as well. He looks around and spots Caramel, Tyra and Scarlett. He sees Scarlett is wearing the suit that he had seen Caramel wearing. He mumbles something to himself, but faces the sea and looks as it seems to endlessly stretch.

Tyra bit her lip at Scarlett's questions, and put on a sheepish grin.

"I am afraid I am not sure," She admitted meekly, "but, there certainly must be a way, yes?"

"I really don't think there is. Unless there's another unicorn on board that knows at least basic fabrication spells, there is no way we are fixing this mast with what I think we have."

 

"Random question though, what colour would look good on me other than black?"

"Aye, I think I left some tools around the weapon storage. Still, yer not going get much done with those. Ye might be able to fix the sail for now but when we're back on land, I gotta replace that whole thing." Caramel said looking at the broken mast. "It's a shame." Caramel walked over to Rave and sat next to him. "Beauiful Sea as Always."
