"What do ye want? and how did you two get here so fast?" Caramel said while passing Scarlett and Wilhelm as kept on walking. "I said I was going to this alone, what are ye doing here?" Caramel said still in her angry mood. Caramel stopped and turned around facing Wilhelm "He is not my coltfriend, none of ye are my friends. Leave me alone."

 

Scarlett looks up again and see's Wilhelm "Nice of you to join us".

 

As he speaks she listens, but upon hearing the words "coltfriend" she instantly when wide eyes and started shaking her head, mouthing the words "no no no" and drawing her right forehoof across her neck.

Wilhelm sighed exasperatedly. "Excuse me and all of the others for attempting to keep you alive. If you go down there without support, I can guarantee that you'll be dead before you can clap your hooves. I've seen ponies like you try to attack enemy positions single-hoofedly, for the glory or whatever other reason, and every. single. one. of. them. ended up dead. Because they were too stubborn to listen to those who tried to help them. Please; listen to us. Whatever is down there, if it's powerful enough to corrupt the mind of a pony so completely, then it's more powerful than any one of us can deal with."

To Scarlett, Wilhelm's eyes opened wide in surprise, and he helplessly shrugged, signifying "Too late".

Tyra overheard Caramel's harsh words, and instead of feeling sad, she felt even more determined.

 

"Friend, this island is affecting you with its dark presence," she informed Caramel, stepping forward to get in her face, "What ever is hiding in these ruins is not worth your sacrifice. We leave now. All of us."

 

Her tone and expression made it clear she would not be swayed otherwise.

"Well done. Should we go after her?" she says while moving her head in gesture towards Captain Caramel. Scarlett was become worried about the Captain, after when she first met her she had assumed that they were all friends.

Lordy just made it through to the ruined temple... Carrying his mountain of stuff... His bright red clothes had attracted a lot of insects which were all buzzing around him... While walking he kept swatting at them with a pan...

"I have finally arrived... What... Did... I ... Miss?" He said as he kept swatting.

"Why is everypony trying to get in my way?" Caramel yelled loudly, ignoring Spellblind. "Would you please leave me alone?" Caramel said as she pushed Tyra aside so she could continue walking down stairs to the center of the ruins. Her mane was now dark blue as so were her eyes.

Scarlett had become very confused and worried about the Captain. As she tried to walk away Scarlett teleported right infront of Caramel and shouted "Captain Caramel stop for one moment and talk to us, please! You need to calm down and explain what's going on!"

"Forgive my interrupting...If I may comment... From my experiences on exploration missions. I must say going alone in such an old place... One may call it... Unwise... Such old structure hide perils... Maybe traps... But even the the roof might collapse. It is always good to be accompanied in such situations."

He swatted a mosquito that landed on his face.

"I said leave me alone" Caramel said as she pulled out her sword, pointing it at Scarlett. "If you don't step aside now, I'm going to be forced to use this." Caramel said as her mane darkened. "I need to go now, I have go down there. Let me go now." Caramel yelled at Scarlett

Tyra scowled as Caramel pushed her aside and entered the ruins. She followed after her and Scarlett, only to find the captain pointing a sword.

 

Instinctively, she brought out her axe, just in case.

"We will let you go," she agreed, stepping forward, "on the grounds that we accompany you. This is not up for debate"

"I said leave me alone" Caramel said as she pulled out her sword, pointing it at Scarlett. "If you don't step aside now, I'm going to be forced to use this." Caramel said as her mane darkened. "I need to go now, I have go down there. Let me go now." Caramel yelled at Scarlett

Yelling back "Use what Captain! A Sword?! What are you going to do, kill me? Can't you see that we're all worried? You're scaring the hell out of everypony and you need to calm down!"

 

Scarlett was really hoping that Caramel wasn't going to use the sword, but was already quietly preparing a defense spell.

something was wrong. violet got up. she listened a bit, and heard yelling. faering someone might be hurt, she rushed to the scene, to see caramel with her sword out. scowling, she put on her brass hooves.

 

she's fought caliber numerous times, she knows how to stop a sword strike. and fight against a sword-user. and she would be ready to.

 

"thats not exactly wise, caramel." she said, "please put down your sword."

 

then caramel started begging, and violet's eyes widened. she looked at the others, and stepped aside. she wondered who her master was. 'if caramel leaves, i'll follow her.' violet decided.

Scarlett is surprised by Caramel's sudden break down. Kneeling down beside Caramel she says "Caramel. We need to go back to the ship. The adversely high amount of Dark Magic here is messing with you. You're not yourself at the moment. And you don't have a master, you have friends."

"Master?" Tyra repeated, shaking her head as Caramel collapsed in a breakdown.

 

She decided to take a different approach. "You are a pirate, you have no masters! You are in charge of your own destiny! This dark force is playing tricks on your mind, and we will not stand for it!"

 

She helped Caramel up onto her hooves and shook her shoulders.

"You are nopony's slave! You are a captain! And we are your crew!"

Spellbind felt guilty. She had treated Carmale with cruelty and contempt when Caramel was simply under intense emotional distress. After all, didn't everypony break down like this at times?

 

She decided to back off and let Caramel have peace. She should say sorry later.

Tyra glanced down as Caramel collapsed once again, frowning. She hadn't succeeded, but she had broken through somewhat.

 

Perhaps another idea.

 

She lowered herself down to Caramel and spoke as softly as possible to her.

"My friend, we came after you not to stop you, but to protect you," she insisted, "We will come with you into these ruins and help you save whoever you must save."

 

She grinned. "Will you allow us to help?"

Scarlett looks to the others "We need to get Caramel out of here, something is messing with her head."

 

Holding Caramel by the shoulder she pulls her chin up to face her "We're going to go now Caramel, and you're coming with us. There is nopony here you need to save."

Caramel eyes started glowing as she grabbed her sword striking around her while spreading her wings so she could fly away. She had hit somepony or ponies, she didn't know who because she was afraid to look back as she ran down to the center of ruins.

Caramel eyes started glowing as she grabbed her sword striking around her while spreading her wings so she could fly away. She had hit somepony or ponies, she didn't know who because she was afraid to look back as she ran down to the center of ruins.

Scarlett was shocked at Caramel's sudden outburst and looks down to her side. There was a giant gash. "Oh for fu**s sake" she says after running after Caramel. Grabbing her legs in her magic she pulls and holds her to the floor "Caramel! Calm down! You could have hurt somepony!"

violet felt her ear get nicked, and her side got a small cut. it still stung like fury, though.

 

she took this as a direct challenge.

Tyra jumped back, feeling Caramel's sword scratch against her cheek. She put a hoof to it as she ran further into the ruins.

 

"I am going after her!" She declared, putting her axe away and sprinting after the pegasus, "Anypony who wishes to assist, follow me!"

She saw the center, her master. She saved him. Caramel smiled as she fainted. "Goodbye Master." Everything blank and black. Nothing she could see. Weightless, is what she felt. Meanwhile she was laying on the ground, knocked out completely as she stopped breathing.

Scarlett is not at all shocked when Caramel stops breathing. If anything she was expecting it. Rolling her over with her magic she begins to do whatever ponies have as an equivalent of CPR on caramel with her hooves. She shouts "we need some help over here"
