Release Date:

April 10 - PSN

April 11 - Xbox Live

So, who else is excited for this upcoming fighter? I'm loving the art style, soundtrack, and playability Skullgirls looks to offer. It's a unique pick in today's fighting genre market. Compared to other fighting games that boast huge rosters of 30+ characters, Skullgirls offers only eight (from what I've heard and seen). Instead of having characters with moves and techniques based off of another's, the characters in Skullgirls are all independent and unique. (This really makes me want to master everyone!) Not to mention, they're all very pretty pixels!

Peacock is my favorite.

It was made by gamers, for gamers. I'm excited that it's finally approaching a scheduled release date, and I can't wait to get some hands-on action with the game.

How about you guys?

I'm a bit of an enthusiast myself and I'm rather excited for it. I'm caught between using either Valentine or Cerebella in particular. The dark deco jazz soundtrack serenading the fights just makes me drool with anticipation.

So hyped for it~

keep it real .

Excited for some new blood in the fighter genre, for sure.

I'm still more hyped over Fighting is Magic, but that's neither here nor there.

  • 2 weeks later...

No one has posted in this thread since the game was released? Weird.

Anyways, I have the game since yesterday.

PSN: LegendaryEmerald , if you want to battle.

Is it any good? I was thinking about buying it, but its either going to be Skullgirls or Mass Effect for me, since I can't afford both.

It's very good, and it's only 15 dollars. The only problems with it are the small amount of characters (though that will be fixed in updates), the lack of an in-game moves list (again, will be fixed in an update), and the fact that there don't seem to be many people playing it online at the moment.

I already like this more than Blaz Blue and the Guilty Gear series.

No in-game movelist? I hate when fighters do that so much like Bloody Roar 3.

Bloody Roar 3? I didn't realize button mashing games needed moves lists. B)

I say that, and yet I spent countless hours playing the GC version of Bloody Roar 3, "Primal Fury".

Primal Fury and Bloody Roar 3 are two totally different games.

Besides, it wasn't button mashing. lol

There were actual movelists, they just weren't in the game. It may not be as technical as Street Fighter or Guilty Gear but it's still not a button masher. If you played it like a button masher you were doin' SOMETHIN' wrong. xD

Primal Fury and Bloody Roar 3 are two totally different games.

Bloody Roar: Primal Fury, also known as Bloody Roar: Extreme on the Xbox and the Japanese GameCube version, is a fighting video game developed by Eighting and published by Hudson Soft in 2002, and later the same year by Activision in North America and in the PAL region. It is an updated version of the PlayStation 2 game, Bloody Roar 3.

And the Bloody Roar franchise is probably the fighting game series accused most often of being nothing but a button masher, even moreso than Tekken. That's not to say there isn't any strategy involved, just that there is comparatively little when looking at more advanced fighting games.
