Do your day dreams ever turn into full fledged stories?

I was daydreaming something that turned in to its own story, and then I thought about how my daydreams always seem to evolve into something big that comes with a long series of events with their own chronological order. Do you do the same thing? If so, feel free to share some of your fantasized stories.

I've had a few that's started into it's own story but always gets interrupted so I've never got to day dream any of them out sadly.... Some where so good I wish I could have finished them out. The day dreams I've started make more sense than the night dreams I finish completely for some reason.

i listen to story-inspiring songs, such as phoenix by fallout boy, and counting stars by one republic. also, through the fire and flames, by dragonforce. i also listen to inspirational amvs. that inspires storys, too. that, and i want to make a manga, so i constantly think of epic battle of characters. its pretty crazy. your imagination daydreams are hard to put into words.

i think its called: maladaptive daydreaming disorder

What is a story if not scenes that you can see in your head?

Cynicism aside, yes, I am currently typing out something that took shape about two months ago. It's slowed down considerably now, but it felt really amazing finally getting it onto the screen.

I'll never show its entirety to anyone, of course, because it's not of a quality that can be shown - it's missing details that I can see plain as day (the images and scenes are in my head, of course).

I'll just leave this quote here:

"All dreams are but another reality. Never forget...."

When I was seven, I watched The Last Airbender, and I was imagining myself as a Firebender. About a month later, I'd come up with several storylines for putting myself in several stories and how it all fit together.

This is your average, everyday annoying signature.

Are you seriously reading this?

Really?

Wow. I didn't think you'd actually waste enough time to get to the fourth line.

Or the fifth, for that matter. What, am I interesting or something?

Yep. I have a whole world and story outlines for it in my head, and it all started from a few little Doctor Who related daydreams. I hope I can actually write a series from it one day, if only I'd settle on my ideas and stop breaking my own mental continuity...  -_-

My two currently published fanfics are due in part to this. With the first one Rarity Get's Cockroaches I had a cockroach infestation for a good while and I was paying close attention to how my Mom reacted to it and realized that it was very similar to what Rarity's reaction would be in that situation so I began to wonder what if Rarity got a cockroach infestation? And had a brief daydream about her getting one. The second one Sweet Guano Acres was when I thought about the episode Bats and remembered how Fluttershy convinced Applejack to let to bats stay, my mind went straight to poop and I had a day dream about Applejack shoving a mount of guano into a truck. Both stories are works in progress but I of course have clear ideas about where they are going to go. Also when I was a kid and even still to this day I sometimes have daydreams about various shows I am into and have come up with quite a few ideas about those that could potentially be fanfics or episodes if I was lucky enough to get on a show writing staff.

I daydream and think a lot, so much sometimes I just kinda fade out and almost "live" in my daydream, I'm so into my thoughts it feels almost real. Every time I fade out I enter a new world created on the spot, with its own story, laws and lore, they become a temporary reality. It makes so much sense when I'm daydreaming but once I snap out of it I only seem to remember a few things about it, just a fraction of everything my head came up with. I really need to control my body before I suddenly speak out loudly or start re-enacting what I'm doing in those daydreams, I really have to catch myself before it's too late and I do something embarrassing.

I guess I can share one story.

One story that I keep remembering is about a girl on Earth. In this universe, the sun is the all-knowing god, a huge sphere with a conscience and consciousness. It is so old and the largest thing in the universe, created all life on Earth, but as He saw it develop He became tired and bored and created 3 other planets besides it, to make it more interesting.

On these three planets, gods are born. Their amount of worship equals their power, and the further the planet is away from Earth, the more power they need to connect and communicate with Earth. The people on Earth can only communicate with the gods through worship and only on these moments can Gods actually talk to humans. They can influence the world around them, but cannot influence humans themselves, it's the one law they have to abide by.

So naturally, depending on the planet, the strongest gods were born on the planet furthest away from it and the weakest on the closest. A few exclusions exist, some weaker gods have the misfortune to be born on a further away planet, while some stronger ones were born on the two closer ones. That's just how the universe works.

One of these gods became fascinated, almost obsessed with this one girl. She was the only still worshipping this god, the others died in a war ago, but because he lived on the furthest planet, he can't communicate well with her, he can't positively influence her life. He hardly has any worship and he is already a weaker god, so all he can do is listen and look, he has no cards to play to generate more worship towards him and all that's left for him is watching this girl until she dies, and so will he. This girl kept hitting misfortune upon misfortune. Born in a poor family with a hard-working mother and an unemployed, abusive father who spends all the hard-earned money on drugs and gambling, every day she's being bullied, even kidnapped once and involved in a massacre inside a church, yet every morning and night she prays to this god religiously, and all he can do is watch, try to speak to her but with no success. I guess that's kinda where the story ends, I don't remember anything about it besides these details.

Yes, all the time, I'm almost certainly a maladaptive daydreamer. I daydream constantly, and have a few ongoing stories that have been continuing in my head for years...mainly one in particular, with a complete world, lore and tons of characters, but I've never gotten around to writing it down from the beginning. Some of these have been inspirations for stories though so it has some use.

Well, while I am at work I doze off constantly. The many instances when we aren't busy I think of scenarios and fun little daydreams to keep my mind off the fact that I am at work.
