How you found mlp and your experiences w/ family and friends

Hi! I'm Andy! I was wondering how you guys found MLP and what your family/friends reactions were. Did they accept it? Did they Join the herd? Were you shunned or grounded for it? All are welcome. I'll start. I started ponies last September, I was watching it in the middle of the night on my tablet with one earbud in and my other ear listening for anyone up! My dad found out first (Fyi my parents are separated but he's still in town) I was watching a video on how to draw ponies when he walked in, I scrambled to shut off  the tablet and hide it behind me, he asked "watcha doing?" and I said "oh nothing, nothing!". He said OK and walked out. I found out later that he had went back to  his room thinking "oh god was he doing porn?" then he checked my history on his phone. when he walked back in he had a smile on is face and said smugly "You like ponies don't you?" He has since agreed to watch the series w/ me. I flat out told my mom one night and she was perturbed, to say in the least, I didn't even tell her about clopping (which I don't do). I have since been formally grounded from ponies and pony sites twice, and just this last week my step dad said "You know what I'm not gonna fight it anymore" So that's me how 'bout you fine people? *edit* I meant isn't as into fanfiction hence why I'm here

I became a brony after I heard some of my friends talk about it i used to hate it when i was little accually. but hey, now i love it. how ironic is that?  

 

well... I didn't have a good experience at all with my parents. when they found out I was accually banned of my laptop for awhile....(and other stuff I don't want to talk about )   and basically my brother told everyone he knows so they all laugh at me and all that... not fun

 

overall though i met a lot of close friends watching mlp and going on different pony sites <3

I became a brony because it was advertised on Boomerang in the United Kingdom.

 

Well looks like when i was girly i liked it but now i still love it..

 

 

Of course i saw FiM in 2010

 

 

FiM came out on my birthday, wierd!

My parents did accept me to be into this fandom but once they found "clop" they banned me from getting involved in this fandom!

I started watching MLP November last year, after seeing some clips of it on YouTube. Only two people IRL know I watch it, and they're fine with it; I haven't really had any need to tell anyone else about it, so I've had a smooth start, I guess.

Thank you all so much! I just wanna say I'm so glad we (Bronies) can be so friendly! As for anyone who hasn't told anyone else yet I want to know how your feeling because I hid it for about two months and it felt horrible! I was trying my hardest not to gush or say things like "anypony". I strongly encourage you to tell someone, anyone! Unless its a special case because I'm only  speaking from my experience

Welcome! Nice to see you joined the herd. Actually "we" are two in my city. At least the one i know is younger than me (has 16 years old) and writes some fan-fic. Their parents fully accepted his bronism. By the other side, i'm afraid to told mine because surely they don't understand o misunderstand me and maybe, in some situation, they could banter or tease me. Of course, my brother (younger than) couldn't shut up his mouth with friends... -_-  And has some little prejudice about homosexuality, has his friends. But not my parents who would accept me if i ever decide to change my gender (thanks Celestia they are close open-minded on certain arguments).

 

Anyway, i wish you can have fun here and make lots of new friends, hopefully find someone close to you. Now please, take a muffin and some cider too. It's on the house!
