The Alicorns Theory

I think These Events (The Return of Nightmare moon, Discord and Trick, Transforming Twillight to Alicorn and more) all part of big plan by Princess Celestia.

You see Princess Luna and Princess Celestia born in age of Alicorns was the normal kind of ponies, alicorns is a state where a pony understand the ultimate harmony AKA Friendship.

You See ponies back then turn into alicorns when the understand the magic of friendship, like now days ponies get they cutie mark.

But with time go by less and less ponies turn into alicorns tell not that so many lift.

The last two alicorns treated as royalty (Princess Celestia mother and father), they had two daughters Luna and Celestia, and one day they die and let the two filly alone.

and a lot of things happened (Discord, sambura and nightmare moon ..... )

But Princess Celestia still remembers the tales her mom tell her about the Alicorns and want to return these days.

If she can turn a pony into alicorn, just one she maybe can make the ponies believe that they can do it to.

My opinion is Celestia and Luna are actually demi-gods in Alicorn form, and thus cannot age and are pretty powerful. They are the only ones who were born as Alicorns. The rest of the Alicorns (2 confirmed) ascended to Alicornhood from one of the 3 races (Pegasus for Cadence, Unicorn for Twilight), but are NOT ageless and will age at a normal rate (meaning Twilight wont outlive her friends and Cadence wont outlive Shining Armor)

I actually had a friend in my Brony group a while back that had the same theory, which I praised him for. He thought there was a big event going to happen, and Celestia needed to reform Discord and recruit a new alicorn princess. This was just after the Season 3 finale aired, and you know what happened? Twilight's Kingdom.

This has some other threads as well.  IMO, yes C knows more than she is saying & has big plans for T.  The prophecy "...the stars will aid in her escape."  Look at T's cutie mark & then ask yourself "Isn't it an amazing coincidence C held the Summer Sun Festival in a hick town like Poneyville just in time to meet the other elements?"

Eh, it seems to me that various events in the show were set up to test Twilight's worth as the potential Princess of Friendship. Nightmare Moon's return was a deliberate test to see if Twilight could make friends and harness the Element of Magic. The return of the Crystal Empire was also a deliberate test that showed she was ready for the final test, being the completion of Starswirl's spell. Everything was geared towards pushing Twilight in this direction because hers was the most prominently featured cutie mark on the Tree of Harmony. However, we still don't know why the Tree had Celestia's, Luna's and Twilight's cutie marks on it.

The Journal by AKR mentions them being born as alicorns. And that was also Lauren's intent when she desgined them. I's rather they be part of an alicorn race that's rather similar to what the LOTR elves where, and for some reason they've either died out or are close to.

you might actually have a point, here. Though you're one on one thing- that Celestia has the ability to turn ponies into alicorns. This isn't true, though many seem to believe the same. Looking back at "Magical Mystery Cure", Celestia's horn never glows, when Twilight ascends, so she couldn't have turned Twilight into an alicorn with her magic. It was Twilight's own magic that turned her into an alicorn. It came out of her, it was purple, like Twilight, and it transformed her- meaning that it was all Twilight's doing.

 

What I believe that you are correct on, is the Alicorn race being masters of the knowledge of friendship and harmony. I brought up a theory, a short time ago, sharing my beliefs on all the earth/ pegasus/ unicorns being descendants of Alicorns, which is why Mr and Mrs cake- Earth ponies- could have pegasi and Unicorn foals, and why Twilight- previously a unicorn, and Cadance, previously a pegasus- could both become Alicorns, because their Alicorn ancestry is still in them, no matter what race they belong to. And if that were the case, then upon reaching their fullest understanding of love and harmony and friendship, that dormant Alicorn gene activates, and they become Alicorns, themselves.
