Discordian 6,015 April 9, 2012 Share April 9, 2012 So on another forum I'm on this one person, who's previously called me many things including, but not limited to beta phaggot pedo furry, decided he was going to watch an episode of MLP. His reasons for doing so are probably just to solidify his hate of it and give arbitrary justification to it. He watches to the end of the opening credits and says he can't be bothered and that was enough to tell him everything about the show he needed to know. I replied telling him it's the height of ignorance to believe the opening credits of anything is somehow a representation of the whole show. He hasn't answered yet but I expect the same hate train and "I shouldn't have to" BS as before. Why was he gonna try if this is all he could muster? He failed to even try, even after I told him to do it without the preconception that it's the cancer of the internet, and thus he is a lost cause. </rant of annoyance> Oh well, at least I still have all my buddies here on MLPforums. 8 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Discordian 6,015 April 9, 2012 Author Share April 9, 2012 I don't do it religiously at all actually, it's just something that's happened for the last six months since I first mentioned it on that forum. Slowly but surely I've been trying to reason with him and a few others about their unnatural hatred towards it. I even left the forum for like two or three months and they continue on with the same BS and hate on it so I had to go back and correct his ways when he decided to watch it for himself. I had to make sure he wouldn't watch it with hate filled eyes because all he would do is watch it. Look how far he got. End of the opening credits. In the end of the day you're right, I shouldn't bother to try to defend it because he'll never change his mind. I even tried tot ell him that even if you are a fan of the show that doesn't mean you are suddenly a loser like he thinks all bronies are. If someone was a loser it wasn't because of MLP, they were a loser before it ever existed. That's the reasoning I used for him and he hasn't replied to anything I said. Didn't even make it out of the credits at the beginning and thinks because of that the entire show is bad and he has any right to judge it. He has responded and I responded back to him. Don't get me wrong, while originally I didn't give a crap, I've morphed into a pretty big brony dork myself, but when we have people trying oh so hard to convert people into the world of ponydom when they simply don't like it, it's just like, you know, why? Raronoopa, don't get me wrong I know you're intentions are probably good, but if he doesn't like the show he doesn't like it and you should just leave it at that. How would you like it if somebody kept on trying to convert you to like, I dunno, say Cavemen and the more you resisted the more the fan tried to make you like it. It's just a pointless battle that's only going to cause issues. Sure, I did come out and say that the internet doesn't belong to one person, and while you are free to try and turn people into fans if you want to, it's just that normally this would cause some issues between you and the person you are trying to "convert" and, lets be honest, who actually likes being involved in arguments over the internet? Sorry if you actually like Cavemen. I actually haven't seen an episode of it, but all I've heard is that hardly anybody liked it. I'm not a hypocrite in that matter, I actually try things before I know I don't like them. Otherwise if I'm not interested then I just plain don't show any interest. I can deal with an opinion, what I can't deal with is insults to my person and things I like based on arbitrary reasoning set in someone based on preconceptions.
