I guess I'll give some backstory...

 

So I've had this OC for a long time named Anna. Her full name is Professor Annabella Belle. Ever since I joined the brony community, I've roleplayed often with her. As of lately though, I've been feeling I haven't been getting any roleplay time with her! I usually roleplay on chat based sites, but I've been on MLP forums too, and have been successful here in the past. Feeling down and depressed about not getting any roleplay action with Anna on these chat based sites, a RP pal of mine gave me the idea of starting a roleplay with him. We set up this Indiana Jones type RP, where his character was a professor, mine was too, and they were actually shipped together. The plan was for them to go to Saddle Arabia on a expedition to disarm traps in a ancient temple, where they'd run into the antagonists of the story. They were married, and Anna was pregnant with their son. It was really sweet, we got art and everything! See for yourself:

 

 

I mean, how cute is that! It was generous of a artist friend to draw her and my pals character, and it gave me tons of motivation. We set up our OC's, got a few days into the roleplay, and I was absolutely in love with this RP. That was until my roleplay pal suddenly stopped coming online....

 

That really had me down. I had something good going, and it all failed suddenly. I haven't seen him in a month, but someone warned me he had a history of sudden long hiatuses. Now I'm stuck, not able to find anyone to start a RP with. I tried to figure out what I liked so much about the RP, and I realized... It wasn't about the action portion. We were going to eventually reach Saddle Arabia, where Anna and my friends OC would run into Nazi's and ancient temples. Though I do prefer some adventure, it was the ship that had me. 2 professors, a perfect match that was sweet and affectionate, but at the same time it wasn't all perfect. There was actually a argument at the start about if they should go to Saddle Arabia, which was pretty intense. The silent game was played, but then they made up in the end.

 

That's what realistic relationships hold! It isn't just googly eyes, lovey-dovey, crap... They actually argued and disagreed because that's just how a couple that's been together for a long time is. I had ships in the past, but this recent example really made me remember how much I liked it. 

 

So what do I want?

 

I'm looking for a roleplayer, someone who has a good amount of skill with it. Somebody who writes out detail, has good grammar, and a good OC that I think would match well with my character. I roleplay pretty realistically, and don't always follow canon, or roleplay in canon Equestria. My OC is Professor Anna, as I said, here's her profile...

I'm going to talk to anybody who offers, and try to work with them so I can find the right match. I'll probably look at a few OC's and then we can talk about what kind of RP we can do via PMs! I will probably do multiple RP's with different OC's as Anna's partner, just to be safe in case something goes wrong. I just want to find someone to ship OC's with, not actually ship with someone on a personal level (I always thought that was kind of weird, no offence to anyone out there). We'll test it out, and if it goes right, maybe even better than I expected, we can do more RP's and have a permanent ship!

I am very interested. The detail is even longer than mine. I'm practically drooling, and I haven't even had time to read it all yet. Mostly cause this is a long shot.

 

The issue I see is she seems entirely straight. Like not even Bi. Would you consider playing with me and having her like mares? The world is magic so a spell that makes a foal out of the genes if two mares wouldn't really be out of the question. Maybe in strict canon, but bent canon should be able to accommodate it.

 

What do you think?

I'm not... against gay or bi... but Anna is pretty much completely straight. I've only done a ERP here or there where she was the opposite, but that's something I'd really have to work into her character and backstory. I just feel like that would change her a lot. Depending on who else posts here, I may consider doing a RP in private messages, just to see how it goes, but I kinda wanted to have it be straight.

 

Your OC is cute though, I could see Anna and her getting along... Did you consider possibly doing a R63?

First of all, let me say this: Your OC is brilliant. I mean, brilliant. I still need to put a lot of work into Wilhelm to get to that standard, but your idea seems really interesting, and quite frankly, I do want to do this, even though I'm not as good as people like you. But if you wish, I can put up examples of my writing and various other things, and we could see if we could do this. And now I'm just rambling, and I probably could have summed this all up in one sentence, but whatever. Wilhelm's in my signature. That's the thing though. She's already pretty much a Rule 63. She's about 90% based on me, and I don't play males anymore. My pony personality is a girl who likes girls. Although I don't, she would accept a guy in very special circumstances.

Well if you like the idea, I'm not giving up then. I could see commissioning Trees for how their foal would look. But there's other applicants too.

Heh... Well the art I have in the post was done by MykeGreyWolf, but I only got that because the roleplayer I was with I know, and knew wouldn't mess up on the RP because we roleplayed before. Maybe in the future, we could do something like that, but figuring out this roleplay and getting it started first may be the best idea. 

 

Reading through how Lektra is, it seems she'd already be the dominant one by default. They'd probably connect in a way that Anna is a Professor and she is a inventor. I do like that connection. Any ideas on where they'd live? Where they'd be in their lives? Would we start with them getting to know each other and dating, being engaged maybe, or already married and on their way to having a foal? I sorta like the last option, since that's what I lost when my pal disappeared...

Lektra has kind of a weird middle in her life. Evenythe Equestrian Empire staff saw this in that version. If she's an indoor pony she she shouldn't have a wanderlust. I wrote that the way it was for two reasons.

 

First, she needs to have learned the magic she does. She can't do it stating at home.

 

Second, many people do pony RP in Ponyville, so I had to bring her there.

 

I have actually wanted to write that time traveling as a fanfiction, so it's entirely fluid and she could have been traveling with someone else in that time too.

Well... They would probably be stationary no matter what if they're having a child. If it's Ponyville you want to be in, then so be it. I really don't mind because Anna moved to Ponyville after a dispute with her husband. I'm thinking that I'd have to change up her backstory for this particular RP, obviously. Maybe it would be the same up to college, just she didn't marry her husband or end up having a child with him. Instead she would of met Lektra after college (or maybe even during) and would of married.

 

Do we want to start at the stage or not? I would just have them in a workshop in Ponyville. I think they'd be happy there, but possibly considering moving somewhere more family friendly?

I drop down from the ceiling, body reforming from shadow and smoke into corporeal form. My bladed arms unfurl from behind my back, independent from my arms that hang down from either of my sides, similar to that of humans. I grab onto the Royal Guard walking below me and throw him back up into the ceiling, the stone ceiling cracked and his body fell back down, hitting the floor and going limp. I frowned while I scanned the group of guards standing before the door to the dungeon, a fanged gash crossing the face of the vaguely human-shaped form I inhabit at the moment. Moving slowly across the floor toward the guards, I realize it feels good to have a form again... Something I’ve been too long without.

 

I allow myself a moment, standing still and close, before my presence is detected and I am attacked. I easily catch the first guard's sword with my right blade arm, the shadowy saber glittering obsidian-like in the torchlight. I raise my leg to kick him backwards, balancing on the other and pirouetting to who’s next while using my left blade arm to pierce the reeling guard’s chest. Two down, two to go. The Royal Guard remaining lunges; I put him down quickly, removing his head from his shoulders. One left. I smile a bit, my "mouth" curving up in a way that appears unnatural and inhuman.

 

Behind me, I can sense a presence by its thoughts; foolish thing, it hasn't learned how to mask them yet. I made a tsking sound, and formed another object out of the stuff of my being- one I had seen before in the hands of the soldiers I have killed- then fire it. The report of the gun echoes in the hallway, and the guard goes down, a clean hole through its head. All down, zero to go. Now, I may finally finish my mission. Excellent. However, as I turn to enter the castle dungeons, I hear a voice behind me; strident, clear, and with the faintest sound of bells accompanying it.

 

I sighed deeply and before turning completely to face the angel hovering in the hallway behind me, encased in the typical gaudy golden battle armor so typical of their kind; unlike us, the Pan Daimon, whose natural bodies provide as much protection as human battle armor, enabling us to not need such metal shells. Forcing my mind into hers, I speak wordlessly. "Hello, young one. Come to die like the ones you have sent before you?" The faintest air of withering derision comes attached to the message, and I see her visibly recoil, doubtlessly from the painful feeling attached to having experienced a demon forcefully manifest in its consciousness. Reforming her will, she replied in the same telepathic method, and I winced from the unavoidable, and disgusting, purity of its angelic mind, something I remember but had not felt in millennia.

 

The angel speaks. "The power of the Lord compels you, demon; yield now and voluntarily reseal yourselves, or the Heavenly Host will bring its full power against the Shadow People. I know full well that I am addressing the entire hive mind when I speak a warning to all lurkers of the night." I sigh, as if disappointed in a book I'm reading. I hoped the angels would not find anything important while we remained stuck in the Seal of Solomon, but for Lucifer's sake, did they have to find that particular thing? Thank Lucifer they're too stupid to figure out what it could mean. With contempt for her very existence, I spoke as I moved forward, reasserting my dominance over her brain. "Yield? Fraülein, you'll be long dead before the hour is out, and I will have the great pleasure of murdering the last eligible heir to the Seal, Celeste, who has been conveniently locked in a cell, trussed up like a turkey, all ready for me to eat. I think I'll find her final emotions of rage, fear, and sorrow quite filling, like all the rest before her."

Wilhelm, meanwhile, was studying the alicorn quite carefully, his face hardening with every insult flung and friend hurt. He stepped forward and cleared his throat. Then, he spoke, in a clear and carrying voice that paused the battle in its tracks, swords suspended. "King Eclipse. Originally responsible for the sun and moon before your children, Celestia and Luna, overthrew you. How...entertaining." Here, a note of derision entered his voice. "Immortal, powers include teleportation, basic elemental control, and skill in swordplay and magic yet unequaled except by your daughters, now grown into their powers." Wilhelm walked straight up to Eclipse, staring him down with a face almost like it was composed of steel- unflinching and utterly merciless. "You see, 'King Eclipse', you may have met the other ponies-but you have never met me. And you will never meet my like again. I have brought untold enlightenment into this world. I have formed the Order of the Panopticon. I see all, I know all, and there is nothing you can do to stop us from achieving our goals." This was delivered in a strident voice, underlaid with tones of anger and utmost scorn for the pony he was speaking to, even though he was bluffing for the last few sentences. For once, Shakescolt's plays had come in handy, especially acting them out. Wilhelm almost seemed to tower over the alicorn through some feat of projection, and his eyes were locked on the other pony's. "In short, Eclipse, you have no idea what you are dealing with. Let me educate you as to the depths of your blunder." In a blur of movement, he backhoofed the other pony across the muzzle, sending the alicorn skidding along the rusty soil of Tartarus.

Wilhelm snapped shut the newspaper with a sudden and authorative air, the sound of paper smacking paper and then, wood, as it was slammed down onto the dining table, reverberating throughout the room. If there was another pony across from him, they doubtless would have cowered, if not by his behavior, then by the narrow-eyed, angry stare he was giving the opposite wall. One might think it was about to light on fire, then he dropped his gaze down to his tea, idly swirling the liquid with a silver spoon. To no one in particular, he continued his monologue. "And, of course, no one consults me. Sure, they have their advisors in the other sciences, and our dear Princess Twilight is all for the idea (well, of course she is, she's the princess of bloody Friendship), but this is simply reckless behavior, considering humanity's track record!" He smacked the table with one hoof, rather impotently. Wilhelm flicked his eyes to the corner of the room, where he had set up a crude laptop and a router. The screen was still humming its way across Wikipedia, pausing on relevant articles with certain keywords. With a wry grin, the navy-coated pony remarked to himself that the wonder humans called Google was considered common. Although, from what he saw, the humans had a history of taking things for granted. Wilhelm put his head down on the table, between his forelegs. "And, of course, I'm supposed to help teach them about the Equestrian sciences. Dear Celestia." He attempted to pull a smile onto his muzzle and nearly failed, the nervous smile wavering into a grimace. "But at least they aren't changelings, and I've had to deal with those before. Humans aren't nearly that bad, and I doubt they'll be trying to play hoofball with these atomic weapon things." He paused for a brief moment to consider what he was doing. "And, I'm talking to myself." Wilhelm poked the teacup halfheartedly with one hoof, sending it skidding for a few inches across the polished oak surface. "I need some sleep." As if his body heard him, Wilhelm promptly passed out from lack of caffeine.

If you want to start them off at the end of her story where she moves to Ponyville that's okay with me, but I meant that they could meet while Lektra is traveling and form a bond. I had always wanted to go into detail on that 2 year trip, and an RP would give me that chance. Up to you though on when they'd meet though.

Seeing as I haven't really roleplayed Anna as gay before, I would definitely not know how to actually start the relationship. To be honest I'm pushing for them to be already having a kid? I don't know, that's just what I can see myself doing in this scenario. Lektra is inventing, being constantly at work, busy in the workshop, and pretty much just being productive all while Anna feels... useless. Since this scandal with her husband didn't happen, I'd have to come up for another reason why Anna is a professor... but isn't. Like she has the title but she isn't actually doing work. 

 

Anyway, Lektra is busy and productive with something but Anna feels useless. She feels like being a mother would give her purpose and make her happier. Therefore they sought out a way to have a baby, and so it happens.

It's like any other relationship. We just keep the R parts off the forum unless the rules allow it. There's love like straight couples.

 

So you're sure you wouldn't they had traveled together while Lektra learns enchanting magic from various masters worldwide? I don't think she would be quite useless, just that she would be out teaching a lot. I haven't read her all the way through yet to see where you ended her off, but it feels that as an accomplished college professor it sounds like Lektra would be raising the child because she works from home.

Well, that backstory is a little outdated. Anna was training to be a professor alongside her mentor, but her husband left her, and she was stuck with her son, so she decided it was best that she quit being a professor so she could raise her son. Being a professor, especially at that young, is very hard long hours. There was no way she could be a single mother with a baby colt, and a professor at the same time. So she did get the title as a professor, but never actually was one.

 

As for the travelling, I was hoping they could be settled down if they were to have a child? Anna is also not a very social pony, who (other than exercise or when she's working on a project) would prefer to stay inside. If she isn't a professor, then she'd have nothing to do. Like, nothing. So little that even though Lektra is at home, she'd still be doing more than Anna with her inventions and such. 

 

I would say that we could just have it in Canterlot, saying that Lektra stopped travelling temporarily when she met Anna. Anna could still have her job... but this is a romance RP. I don't want Anna to be busy with her job, I think it'd be sweet for them to just be at home, and planning what they're going to do with a foal. Of all places to raise a foal, Ponyville is probably the best place

Sounds good to me. So they meet in Canterlot which was the last place Lektra stopped on her journey. She's completed her training and meets Anna. They move in together because it just feels right to them. It's so cute.

Right. They meet when Anna is in college, know eachother for a few years, before they get married. Anna does become a professor, but finds it uber stressful and hard. Since she's struggling, one of her colleagues gives her the offer to open up a workshop for him, that'd serve as a observatory and science supply kind of deal in Ponyville. Anna jumps on the idea, because it's simpler and easier, and she knows she can go back to Canterlot once she was older.

 

Lektra and Anna move to Ponyville, and station themselves in what was a old carriage garage/house. It's nothing too big, is kinda messy, but Lektra turns it into her own little workshop. Anna's plan to build this science supply/observatory is kinda postponed until it's planned and built. So for the time being she FEELS useless. They spend a year in Ponyville, until Anna suddenly admits to Lektra that she wants a foal. That's kind of impossible unless they adopt, but Anna wants it to be their child. As a gift from the university Anna worked at, one of the top unicorn scientists travel to Ponyville, and does a spell that allows them to have a child. Anna carries the child.

 

Roleplay is about improvising, so we'd have to see where it goes from there. For now I'm going to bed... I'll start a PM eventually where we can discuss more, then eventually start RP.

Well that really isn't the case at all. Just understand that... well... I don't really know much about you. I only know what you tell me, and it's probably only going to be the good things. Now that isn't a problem, I'd do the same thing, and so would most other roleplayers! We only started talking on this topic yesterday, so I really hope you understand when I say that I don't want to play all my cards on this single roleplay. If you read the first post, I did that with my last roleplayer... We actually knew eachother, I knew he was a great roleplayer, but things still went sour. Never underestimate the possibility of things going wrong...

 

So all I'm doing is starting a few back to back roleplays. No biggie. I roleplay on chat based sites... so do realize I can spit out a 10 sentence post in a matter of minutes. It wouldn't effect anything between me and you, you'd probably not even notice. And hey, if things go great, it won't even matter. If you feel confident that our characters will be a good match, then you don't even have to worry about it. 

 

Also, do remember this is just a roleplay. Nothing personal. Something else I also said in the first post

 Oh you seem very talented. I mean, your OC seems extremely interesting/original, and hopefully you can get into the details some day. You may also want to consider getting some art.

 

The funny thing is though, he's very similar to Anna. You may say 'Oh, that's great!' but I always had this theory about the best couples actually being opposites? Opposites attract. If him and Anna were both high born pegasi, who both were extremely intelligent, and both had outstanding skills at a young age, then they'd also probably have similar flaws! From the looks of what I read, it seems they do. Now if they were opposites, then they'd fix eachother's flaws, and would improve via the skills their partner had. It's make this perfect balance and connection... roleplay wise anyhow.

 

So, we'd have to talk it over. Love is love, in the real world we ask "How did THAT couple come to be?" and despite the many things you think would tear these two people apart, they are madly in love. Roleplaying has a base, the rest is improvising. We'd have to set the relationship in motion to see how things go, but not like what I'm doing with Lektra. Probably still in the dating stage?

Sure, I'd be fine with that. However, if you're more comfortorable with a opposites sort of thing, I could introduce Linus Franz Leiben, a character from another site who's about as far from Wilhelm as you can get while remaining in my comfort zone. Linus is a pianist and science fiction writer unicorn who lives in Ponyville, grew up in Stalliongrad, and was born in Muneighch, Germaney; he's traveled a lot. There's also several other pieces of info that'll be in his profile; however, I'll be out for most of the day, so don't expect the link right away.

It's gonna be confusing though, probably for you more than me. If it went well I was going to edit Anna into Lektra's story. If you're running with more people who's she actually with? I'm not taking it personally and I understand wanting variety/backups, but it gets hard to figure out what counts for who and if it counts for all RPs or just the one.

 

If I do need to take a break I would tell you, so there's no need to worry about a *poof* situation.

 

Also I would like to start at a dating stage too. It's more fun to have characters learn about each other in RP instead of setting it up early and just using OOC knowledge. Kinda why I originally suggested they meet while she was on the road. Do you not like this idea?

Er... How do I say this...

 

I like... roleplaying... pregnant characters? 

 

I dunno, it's also the fact that I would feel really awkward actually starting of at the dating stage with the two of them being gay. You're a male (atleast, that's what your profile says) and you play a female OC. If you were straight, then for you it wouldn't make much of a difference because your OC is dating someone that you'd possibly date in real life. Me, as a female, it's kind of awkward because I'm playing a female character, who's dating another female character... and I'm 100% straight. My OC is definitely not a ponysona, she's much different than I, but I'd like to believe she has the same preference as I do.

 

Though that's true, I'm still doing this RP, and I'm eager to. Why? Because it's all the same love, I have nothing against a gay relationship. I just feel like if I roleplayed the actual 'falling in love' part, it'd be very bland, because I personally am straight and wouldn't fall in love with someone of the same gender. If they were in love off the bat, it'd be easier, because as I said it's all the same love. As for having a kid, I've seen that scenario multiple times and I always found it so cute! Do I have to post all the art that goes onto Derpibooru where a gay ship somehow generates a child, and how absolutely heart warming it is? (And I mean, the clean, non-NSFW stuff. Don't turn off those filters while searching for what I just told you about! lol)

Sure, I'd be fine with that. However, if you're more comfortorable with a opposites sort of thing, I could introduce Linus Franz Leiben, a character from another site who's about as far from Wilhelm as you can get while remaining in my comfort zone. Linus is a pianist and science fiction writer unicorn who lives in Ponyville, grew up in Stalliongrad, and was born in Muneighch, Germaney; he's traveled a lot. There's also several other pieces of info that'll be in his profile; however, I'll be out for most of the day, so don't expect the link right away.

 

And I could very much help you build up this OC! If there isn't much to him though, I wouldn't want to start right now. I'd rather roleplay with Wilhelm if you wanted to start ASAP. If you have time though, we could build up this character. Heck, I could even point you in the right direction for a artist to draw him. THEN we could start up a roleplay

I usually play her oblivious to her own feelings as well, so to start out that way seems a bit forced and like, why did this happen? Seeing it play out and them going on the big adventure (Remember Lektra traveled fot two years so it can fit) you talked about with your other friend, then settling down would work out. 

Oh I meant to have that merge together. Woops. Yea I'm fine with that and would love to. Just feels odd for it to be right away is all.

Well yeah, it is a little for me too. It'll feel a little weird, since the last RP our characters knew eachother, and kinda went through a dating stage... But again, the gay thing is a little bit more uncomfortable for me? I mean, hey, this is for you... not for me. Not that it makes me any less happy because YAY! BABY PONY! 

 

It may work out better than we suspected! I'll into writing that PM. As for travelling, in the last RP (bringing it up a lot, I know. Sorry) Anna's partner convinced her to travel halfway across the world in her condition. I mean, that says something about Anna. If you want to throw in some type of science convention that Lektra wants to go to, or anywhere else, Anna may not exactly be happy with it right off the bat... but she'll do it. We're talking maybe 5 months in? Showing (obviously) and gender/race is known, but she really isn't suffering physically too much? Maybe she runs out of energy easier, but that sums it up. But at this point it's all a mental game... Hormones are raging, and she isn't exactly at the point yet that she's use to it. Should make things interesting.

 

We should most definitely stop posting her and bring it to PM's. I'm writing now

I'm a little worried you might not enjoy it as much as I would is all.

 

Lektra works at home a lot, but here's where the difference comes in. I honestly don't usually write out her making her items cause I flunked out of college and don't actually have the engineering knowledge IRL, so it could get boring/repetitive. She is designed to be able to help others with their problems using her inventive solutions and magic. Not that staying at home with her lover wouldn't be enjoyable, but we could run out of content.

 

Did you actually want to play out the leftover months of the pregnancy? We could bring a third person to play the foal with us.

And we're doing the whole RP by PM, not a thread? I guess it would mean the more naughty parts would be fine to play out. My worry is the existence of a PM limit though.

We'll see. You really think I have enough knowledge to write out a full blown, professor, who's practically a genius?! No chance! I hate math with a burning passion of a thousand suns. I've always been good with English, I mean... really good with English and literature. I've won awards in the past for some of my short writing pieces! It's all an illusion, of playing your character as if it seems like she knows everything a true genius would. Don't worry, I don't expect you to be 100% realistic. We're in Equestria, after all.

 

As for playing out the pregnancy... Eh... If we get bored THAT'S where we can go! It's actually a good plan. As for a third person, I have played Anna's biological son in the past really well. I think I can handle that.

 

Yes, by PM. I don't exactly like anybody being able to watch and judge. As for 'naughty' we'll see... I'm not going to purposely go in that direction, but it's a possibility. If the limit is reached, we'll find another place to go. No biggie
