Omega Centauri 317 April 19, 2015 Share April 19, 2015 Does Viking culture count as ancient? If so, Viking culture. I was gonna say Romans but then you reminded me that Vikings were a thing ...But that's just my opinion.

Shanks 10,816 April 20, 2015 Author Share April 20, 2015 Olmec. They're shrouded in mystery. Interesting thing about the Olmec is that there is strong evidence to suggest that they may be descended from Africans who came to the Americas, they built this city that was so advanced that when the Toltecs and later Aztecs found it they thought it was built by the gods which is why the Aztecs named the city Teotihucan which in their language means "city of the gods". It is my light. In brightest day or blackest night! I lay claim to all that falls with my sight!! To take what I want that is my right!Fear the power of avarice. It consumes all who dare touch it. Invincible 2,091 April 21, 2015 Share April 21, 2015 (edited) My favorite ancient culture is Ancient Egypt. They brought the world so many contributions to mathematics and engineering, it's safe to assume we owe them many of the things we take for granted now. Interestingly, among the things i like about that culture: -They used their joints for counting, instead of their fingers, making calculations in bases higher than 10. -They were among the first to recognize PI by designing rationally correct pillars and attempting to divide them to pieces. -Despite the harsh desert sands that composed many of their territories, they had many ideas to move sustain their population and thrive.
