"Hey kids, you're free to- what the hell happened?!" A burly cop walked in and following behind was none other than Celestia, or at least human Celestia.

 

"My little children, its time we go." Celestia sterly ushered them out of the station, reunited with all their gear, clearly displeased at what had happened. She had reprimanded the station for their 'faulty' bars and marched them out, leaving them to scratch their heads.

Blizzard had no idea what just happened. First ending up here with what looked like his friends, now somepony busting them out all the sudden? It was just getting stranger and stranger by the minute. Be he didn't question anything, and moved out with everyone.

"We are ponies from the land of Equestria," Celestia explained. "A great evil has escaped to this world, something sinister in nature. Please eradicate it before something dreadful happens."

 

"Does anybody smell smoke?" Starchase pointed to a burning dojo in the nearby distance.

Icesius was busy trying to process what was just said. Equestria? Ponies? Sounded like where he was from. But why was everything so....different? This world looked nothing like Equestria, and to make matters worse...a building was on fire, "I wonder if my powers still work...?"

"Please deal with this matter on you own my children, your futures are at stake. Iceius is here to help you. And it seems your friend here is too tired to continue much further," Celestia sighed and shook her head. She took Arcing Storm off Amber and returned to the portal. "I belive in all of you."

 

"What?" Starchase was rather baffled at how Celestia simply left them to deal with the current crisis at hand. There were still so many questions left unanswered. He patted around his head searching for his horn, and when he couldn't feel it, he went a bit berserk and nearly torn off his 'mane'. He tumbled over to the source of the smoke, not far away, about a street away.

Ice figured that his powers would be the best thing to extinguish the flames. However, he didn't think that doing it out in the open would be...normal in this world. Unfortunately that's one of the things that got him arrested, "How do I do this inconspicuously..." he thought.

"Somepony do something!" Starchase waved his arms frantically. "Call a firepony or something! Anything!" The place was going to be nothing but ashes left if everybody continued to do nothing. Even if he had his magic he doubted he could do anything at all. Another disadvantage of not being a 'special' unicorn.

To test if he had his ice powers, Ice decided to try something new, "Here we go...." Without another word, he simply waved his hand. "Come on...come on...."

 

Suddenly, a huge snowball landed on the building, and put the flames out, "Hm...I wonder what could've caused that to happen..."

The sheer volume and weight of the snowball was ridiculous. The roof of the dojo caved in on itself, the whole place buried in the snow. It was a rather comical sight, almost like a scene inside a novelty snow globe.

 

"Is there anypony there?!" Starchase ran to the site of the wreckage. He tried to kick off bits of the snow but slipped and fell instead. He hit his head on the sidewalk and groaned.

Amber shook her head feverishly, as if to dislodge something that had been shoved in there. What was going on? She felt herself floating helplessly outside her own body, watching things unfold without her as though she was watching a play. Flames licked up the building, as snow melted and dribbled down the sides. She blinked a few times, the looked down at her hands, clenching and unclenching them over and over. She looked up at Starches with an expression of unrivaled horror.
"What--" She managed.

Ice walked looked the building over a few times. It was indeed broken from the sheer weight of the snow, but fortunately, with the flames gone, at least the worst was over. He walked towards the building and called out, "Hello? Is anyone in here? Is anyone hurt?"

Looking up at Amber, Starchase hastily got up on his feet and tried his best to reassure her. He was rather at a loss at what to do. He could put his hoof around her but that would seem inappropriate and an invasion of privacy. On the other hoof, or hand as he had heard, he could tap her on the shoulder but that would be too impersonal for a friend. Decisions, decisions.

 

He tried to hold her hand but it ended awkwardly with their fingers entwined. It was like having 5 tiny hooves conceded to a big hoof, how cumbersome. "Honestly, I don't know what's going on anymore. It's like the world is spinning out of control." He spoke softly but soberly.

caliber was just watching the dojo on fire with a 'welp' expression on his face.

 

after all, there wasnt really anything he could do. he was a swordspony, not a firepony. but it was a relief when a...giant pile of snow dropped from the sky?

 

"...huh." but his attention was dragged toward a look-alike of himself, and some girl running towards the flaming dojo from a few blocks away.

 

the 'human' caliber had a simple stick on his back, not a sword, however. and wasn't wearing a cape.

 

and that must mean...the girl he was with...

 

 

violet stopped at the edge of the now-burnt-down dojo, looking about wildly. "what happened here?!" she ordered.

Ice looked at Lektra, "No as a matter of fact I'm not. Do you have any idea what the heck could have caused a building to suddenly burst into flames like that?" he asked. He still didn't know what was going on. Why was everypony looking so different? What the heck was going on? Ice had to hold onto the wall of the building just to stay upright. Was this for real?

"I assure you we had nothing to do with it, we just saw it in flames and this." He waved his 'hand' around the wreck site. Starchase was rather intimidated by the girl. At least he could count on Caliber and his newly reunited sword if things get complicated.

 

"You waved your hand and summoned snow?" He was trying to stop this weather pony from changing the topic. How could he have done that without the weather factory?

 

"Lektra, are you okay? Looking a bit flushed there."

Blizzard was confused by Starchase's sudden interest, "Weather factory? No. I have ice powers. It's weird though, I have no idea how I got here, or when, but I do know that something is definitely wrong here. And I know for certain that we're no longer in Equestria...dangit...anypony know a way back?"

a cartoonish vein bulged in violet's head for a second. "then who DOES know something?!" she demanded, walking towards starchase, cracking her knuckles.

 

equestria caliber frowned, and reached for his sword to protect starchase, but before his hand could grasp the handle, a SHING was heard. he turned around to see his look-alike, holding his sword.

 

human caliber merely shook his head slowly. "you wouldn't wanna do that." he was poised to attack. "and i myself wanna know who are you people? and why does this guy look like me?"

Nearby, hidden from view, notes were being scribbled furiously into a tattered green notebook.  The holder of the pencil wasn't even looking at what he was writing; his eyes were fixed on the group.

 

Ice powers... Starchase... 'mare' stuff... FA-scinating...

 

He continued to stay put, merely taking notes as things were said.

 

It would explain the inexplicable appearance of such a copious amount of snow at such an instant; perhaps there is a quantum factor at play?  And I am intrigued at the prospect of utilizing such an ability to further my ultimate goal...

 

He gave the smallest of smirks, and continued to remain hidden.

 

... endlessly FA-scinating, he thought.

"Okay, mare stuff, none of my business." He felt a tad bit embarrassed for asking. It seems inappropriate to question further. There was already one angry female threatening to kill him. He'd like to keep it at a minimum.

 

"Somepony help me?" Starchase spoke in a small lost voice. "I don't want to die just yet."

caliber had backed off from the human-caliber, taking his place next to lektra, and the others. 

 

violet had gotten up to starchase, at this point. "well?!" she looked beyond intimidating in her current getup. "im asking you all a question!! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE?!"

 

the human caliber narrowed his eyes "iv never seen any of you people before. excluding violet, of course. and you'd be wise to answer her."

Ice was astonished. Two Calibers?! And a Violet? What the heck was going on, and why were they so hostile? He sure as heck didn't want to say anything, because if he knew Violet, she'd kick butt at a moment's notice, and Cal, well, no chance. He had backed up and stayed quiet to "slip under the radar."

"Honestly, miss, I don't know what happened here." Starchase answered truthfully. Honesty is the best policy, though he secretly would have just pointed in a direction and let her tear through the street as he made his exit. "I'd rather we not start a scene here. Perhaps you should inquire elsewhere."

"Pardon me, but I do believe I heard mention of a particular locale while you were all speaking amongst yourselves - a locale that I, Gideon Anomaly, happen to be particularly interested in... perhaps even a scientific return to said location would be in order?  There would certainly exist a position in my plans for your assistance to become most beneficial, and that we might all utilize such for a blanket benefit that would return tenfold for us all, potentially."

 

Standing there, seemingly out of nowhere, was a man in a lab coat and thick-lensed glasses.  He was a bit on the scrawny side, but his eyes shone with an intellect that seemed formidable.  He was short, but held himself with impeccable posture.  He gave a very small, yet somewhat friendly-looking smile.

 

"I would suggest you each make a decision on whether to deign to follow me to a location where we might speak more freely upon this FA-scinating subject... or simply stay put, with an atrociously minimal opportunity to ever return to Equestria; the choice is yours to make, of course - but I have an exceedingly short span of patience for loitering, and an even smaller window of opportunity for returning from whence I originally came..."

 

He turned and began to walk off, looking back over his shoulder once to say, "If you are interested, then I would oblige you to keep up, my little ponies.  Of course, you are more than welcome to decline... and spend the rest of your existences lamenting your opportunity to return home walking away from you forever."  He turned back and, without bothering to check behind him, began to walk off down the street, striding confidently.

violet looked like she was about to punch starchase, when the new-new guy showed up.

 

she listened with narrowed eyes, and nodded her head. "c'mon caliber. and the rest of you, you all aren't off the hook just yet."

 

violet and human-caliber followed the man in the lab-coat. and since human-caliber still had pony-caliber's sword, pony-caliber followed too.

"Now, it is exceedingly understandable as to the situation the lot of you are in that you might actually attempt to intimidate or manipulate me over the particulars of what lies in store for us all... such an endeavor, for the record, would not be a wise choice.  I assure you that my brilliant mind has worked out the required ratios and particulars involved in the utilization of your abilities, and that whatever possibilities that any of you might be considering to exercise against my calculations will be laughable at best - especially seeing as I am exceedingly aware of the delicate nature of said mathematics."

 

This guy seemed to be full of words... and happy to say them, as well.  He didn't even look back to see if anyone was following; he was just talking out loud.

 

"Or perhaps I should put this into more... 'common' terminology?"

 

He took a breath, and gave a sardonic grin.  He spoke slowly, as if talking to a foal.

 

"Any of you give me any trouble, and you can remain here for the rest of your rutting lives."

 

He straightened his glasses, and cleared his throat.

 

"Now that we have an understanding, perhaps the lot of you would care to make your introductions at this juncture?  Not that it truly matters, as I am exceedingly certain we will waste no time parting ways once we arrive back at our collective destination... but my inquiring of such would certainly count as being... sociable... would it not?"

 

He said the word 'sociable' as if it disgusted him, but he was apparently trying to be so.
