gaming Game Companies: Why players get angry

Gamers will defend a game even though it sucked worse than its predecessors. But then there are those who see though the deceptions and spot the flaws and give the game a rep it deserves. While the good ones get their rep as well. Before i name them, don't cry to me because i hated your fave game; got it? So here my list of the top five worst games.

  1. Devil May Cry 2
  2. Destiny(unbalanced and unplayable)
  3. Halo series
  4. CoD even the modern ones.
  5. Duke Nukem Forever(don't get me started)

The list goes on...

I've had people call me an idiot for stating my opinion, most of my suggestions were jokes for bungie, yet i get hate for it. What's wrong with me having one? I have never enjoyed a game such as these. Now i get called a butthurt noob for saying destiny is broken. I swear i have never met such rude people.

I only play destiny to find the flaws and point them out to people and get the same result, hate.

Subjectivity makes it hard for people to agree on anything. Different standards for different people. Games like Devil May Cry 2 and Duke Nukem Forever are complete games. Most of the hate comes from their differences from the games before them.

It's impossible to definitively give a rating or label to every single game. Even games like Sonic 06 have redeeming qualities that some people care about far more than how glitchy it is.

Unless it's like....Crazy Bus most games are playable and thus enjoyable on the most basic level. I'd posit that most people just don't let themselves enjoy something. Standards are overrated. If I'm gonna enjoy something I'm gonna enjoy it no matter what anyone else says about it.

If you guys want to know what my opinion of Destiny was:

Crucible:
I don't like how the crucible rules are handled, first lets start with the disabled level advantages, shall we? In this mode, the players have only their armor reduced, not weapon damage(this results in no real skill being used). Only people jumping around firing aimlessly, its shameful to see campers who just sit behind a corner and wait to ambush you; and i;ve noted several times that guns seem to be shooting through walls that i have taken cover behind. I'm convinced some are hackers or abuse the lag for their own personal gain.
Now lets talk about the exotics that are allowed, only one weapon of this type is allowed in the crucible, which is fair; considering how OP they are. And anyone complaining about this is the butthurt one, not me.

Strike: there are times i have when i need a team and every one i get is random; this doesn't really work and fails to match me with someone who wants to play it. All they do is sit back and let me do all the work(seriously?).

Raids: As people have stated, VOG and Crota; these have their fair share of bugs and glitches; making them hardly playable. I think they should have taken these off until they were properly fixed. Its lazy and makes them look incompetent.

Vendors: These are the bane of my existence, they never have anything new unless you buy the dlc(Xur being the exception).
- The tower vanguard always have the regular armor and never see one day where they have one bit a of armor with light.
- The cryptarch never has any blue engrams i need to give to my other characters.
+ I've heard that the factions will get new items, but if i find out they require the dlc, i'm done.

Leveling: Leveling to twenty is easy, but then becomes tedious and repetitive afterward; this light system is only breaking the game, not helping it. I'm stuck on level 28 and can't do any higher Vanguard Strikes until 30, real shameful. I wish they'd return it to normal leveling, but keep the grinding going. Its fine if you want to grind, but hindering my progress with having to find light armor? oh god the flaws.

Engrams: Here's the list of engrams going from low to high tier: White(common), Green(uncommon), Blue(Rare), Purple(Legendary) and Yellow(exotic). But it seems after you get past level 7 the engrams turn green and the white are never seen again. Now my gripe comes with the legendary ones. You maybe have a 1 in 500 chance of getting gear, but sometimes the wrong class; which pisses me off considering i'm only interested in warlock. I'm sure many get ticked off at this meager insult. But i keep them for if i make another class; who knows when you might need them; so i'll let some it go.

Enemies and Bosses: These enemies and bosses range from place to place, often easy or difficult; but to me, they're not that difficult. What needs to be done is make them tougher, make you work for your reward; of course this may cause a few friends to break up; but hey its a game.
That's all i have against it.

I get most of what i want from Xur, since he's the only one with anything worth buying. People called me a noob because i have comepleted zero raids? So what? I don't need a raid to get good items when Xur can give you exotics.

I would hardly call these the top five worst game.  Top 5 most disappointing games maybe, or top 5 most overrated games perhaps?  But worst, no, these games are all more or less functional and can be enjoyed.  If you want to about the worst games, you need to look at things like Pumpkinhead, Bayou Billy or that Atari E.T. game that was so awful it crashed the video games market.  I grew up with the NES and rented more than one broken mess of a game that was nearly impossible to play.  Halo is a masterpiece compared to these sorts of games.

@, Okay, before you say it, I know it's your opinion, but this is how Destiny works.

Crucible: The damage rule is there because if you are using an exotic gun for example, you want it to feel like an exotic, not like a trashy rare gun. If you have wireless connection to play, that is why you are getting killed through walls, it's happened for years on call of duty. xD People camp in every game, you can see them on your map, even when crouched they appear every 5 seconds i think.

Strike: They are designed for you to play with a team of people you know, not randomers, but they realised some people just want to get them done so added match making. Note that the nightfall doesn't have matchmaking, as you will fail if you try it with randomers through matchmaking.

Raids: The raids are very playable, I only get issues on tuesday when the reset happens and everyone is playing. They fix the bugs when they can, and if you can't get through it, for instance people are always dying from enemies, it isn't the games fault they aren't very good :P

Factions are just there as an alternative to crucible vendors really XD, they have good stuff, and I doubt you'd need the DLC to get their newer stuff.

Vendors: When you say vanguard vendor, do you mean the weapon one or the armour one? Because the armour vendors have legendary armour with 33 light.

He doesn't sell blue engrams because it would break the game. It would just break it and you wouldn't need time in the game to get good armour like the rest of us have.

Leveling: It isn't breaking the game. It takes ages to get to 32 yes, but that's because they want it to. Where is the fun in getting to level 32 instantly, as you said it is easy to get to level 20. It wouldn't be any harder to grind another 12 levels. The light system makes you work to get there, grinding yes, but you have to work hard.

Engrams: The reason you get random class items in legendary engrams is because you have three character slots, and three different classes. They are expecting you to have one of each. And hey, were you there during the great Legendary engram plague? You had a higher chance of a legendary from a rare than a legendary engram XD

Enemies and bosses: As you have said you've never done any raids. The strike bosses are piss easy compared to the raid bosses. They require team work and a lot of synthesis'. It's even worse on Hard, when you can't respawn until the next checkpoint.

And for Xur, you can only use one exotic piece of armour at once, and one exotic weapon at once. Which means you're either doing the raid or buying armour from other vendors, because the only other way to get armour to level up to 31 is legendary engrams. It also costs a fair amount of strange coins to buy stuff, if you don't do the raid, and are level 28, I doubt you are doing the level 30 strike or the nightfall, but if you are, that is 9 strange coins, and you only have one character from what it seems. XD

I only play destiny to find the flaws and point them out to people and get the same result, hate.

That was a waste of money then, to be honest :\

I don't see why you would buy a game just to point out the flaws.  :wat:

I only mentioned destiny. This would be much longer if I delved into the other four.

Pfft. Liking games is completely subjective. Also surprised you'd put the halo series up there, was pretty much my childhood : P

People will generally get annoyed if you turn around and tell them their favourite series is shit, and the gamer community is kind of toxic in general, which would explain the insults.

Also why would you buy and play a game to point out to people that its bad? >.<

  • 2 weeks later...

It's possible to enjoy a game even if it is heavily flawed

I mean, I like Megaman X6 a lot, even more than X3 or X5 despite both of those being more polished. That doesn't mean I don't think that there's a ton of stupid design choices, but at the end of the day some people are willing to put aside a game's flaws if they find something in it they genuinely enjoy. Some will even go out and defend certain unpopular games because they think there are a lot of great things in them that people don't give them enough credit for, I do it frequently with games like Starfox Adventures and Final Fantasy VIII
