Dawn looked at Caras and thought for a second before giving her answer. "No, I apparently don't. Feel free to enlighten me, though." She said. The alicorn would play Caras's game until she could find a way out of her cell and the city.

Tempest couldn't find the other pony, but figured that he could deal with him when the time came. The bat pony then turned and headed back to Golden. "I couldn't find him." He said, landing beside the divine.

"chrysteel stop that!.... caras won't like it we must get out of here now" simple grabbed chrysteel and forced her into his bedroom he then started examining the blood "ah... i see.. see chrysteel.....how changeling blood cells work.... is they absorb emotion......if said changeling absorb said person's emotion.... they are immune to any diseases or changes caused by someone said person blood cells meaning technically changeling can have they blood cells change into that of a demon's but it would be difficult as the changeling cannot have been around me...." "so your cells are protected by my emotion"

"May I see that?" Chrysteel waits for him to respond, looking over the blood he showed her and the final result.

She shakes her head. "I think the meaning is different. The cells are completely different. I think we are missing something. While yes I am protected by the emotions I feed on. It wasn't just you that which protected me. Remember that Niruna was also there and so was Caras. Them being devils or demons didn't have the desired effect like this. Can we try something?" She pulls out the crystal from before. She then says, "try adding a shard chipped from this to the blood when mixing the next test and let's see what happens."

Chrysteel takes the crystal and with her fangs taps into the top most tip. She then hooves the tiny chip of crystal she made to him. "If my guess is correct. This should excelerate the process. I don't know if it will work but it is a good guess. The old files said that Flutterling's Heart works in conjunction with the love of friendship, willingly given, to cause an effect of the crystal to take hold on the holder of the crystal."

simple waited for a hour and a half............and nothing happen "that did nothing..." simple sighed...... "chrysteel those shards are made from magic....but the magic particles of the shard......would have nothing to do with you dna...... it affect your magic... yes!.... but your magic manage by the brain" simple sighed and waited another hour or so..... and was like "see it does nothing....."

@ Simple

Chrysteel says, "look again."

Even though the change, on all fronts, was stalled when the crystal was added. It soon became noticable that the Changeling cells of Chrysteel had a very effective reaction. A pulse eminated from the shard and all cells were rapidly changed from base to the pink cells in almost no time flat.

She says, "It must have taken time for the fragment to gain enough energy. But I was right. The crystal does have an impact, when involving the love of friendship. It just takes time for the crystal to gain enough of it to fully trigger. I also think some kind of blood is also required."

If Simple compares the two cell samples they are exactly the same.

( i kind of don't like where this is going........ and it's kind of annoying.............. but i'm not picky.... i guess you win this war...*sigh*)

"what you're saying seems to be true" simple looks at chrysteel "the crystal seems to be protecting the blood cells......" he looks a bit closer and smiled "this is interesting"

Caras gave Dawn the full history of the species and why the two races. The history of how the devils where mistreated, pushed out of their lands and forced to live in the underworld. (Full story can be found on earlier pages. Can't be arsed writing it again)

Caras: "So you see, not everything is as it seems and not everything as as black and white in your morality as you think. I would not expect a mortal like you who has been blinded by divine light to understand. We are not as evil as you say we are, but that depends on your moral standpoint. We do this for our people, we have honour that the divines have stolen from us. We have to reclaim what is ours. This is not a war of light vs dark, but more of who you personally side with."

Dawn sighed as she listened and thought over what Caras had said. It made sense, but she still glanced at Caras. "And what about those who are innocent in this whole ordeal?" She asked. If he answered how she thought he would, then both sides were at fault

Caras: "I don't think their are many lives that will be considered innocent by our eyes. If they sympathise with our enemy we can deal with it, if they fight for them, they die. Minimum civilian casualties is how we are operating in this war. But we know they are unavoidable and not all devils share my views. Most say I've gone soft in old age. But like I said, not many will be considered innocent to us."

Mangos mind was clearing and his senses were returning, a good sign most of the time. However the suit was practically starved effectively making his instant recovery impossible. Going dormant for a while was his only option and considering thrashing around in a forest didn't give him an edge on following the divines attackers. The suits silence was synonymous to disappointment and that was a peace Mango rarely receives. Mango chose to rest on a tree, he took a deep breath as he regained his normal senses and demeanor. Crazy things has happened recently but Mango believed it was best not to dwell on it. A smile crept on Mangos face as he closed his eyes and went to sleep. The suit made sure no harm would be done to it or its host as they regained their wasted energy.

Dawn wasn't expecting that, but she nodded slightly. "That's understandable. Take out anypony who doesn't exactly agree with your views." She thought to herself. "But that still doesn't explain why he didn't just kill me when those demons brought me in here." The alicorn began to think on that for a bit, but didn't like any of the possibilities.

Clayton sighed as he trotted through the forest. He had followed Tempest and figured that he may need some help with whatever he was going to do. When he exited the forest, he saw Tempest and Golden, and one of them wasn't looking to good. "Hey. I figured that you may need some help. What happened?" He asked.

Golden: "Fuck. This is bad. If we're lucky he will starve out and the suit will dormant again. Let's just hope he didn't get one of them. Never thought I'd say that. There's nothing left we can do out here, unless you want to try and waltz right into Hell Above and try and get Dawn back."

Caras: "What's with the look on your face? Thinking about something? I'll leave you to it. I have more important things to deal with than keeping you company right now." Caras left the room, shutting the door behind him but not locking it.

Niruna: "Oi! What's with the racket this early in the morning? I was sleeping. I need something to wake me up, Caras? Can you make me some tea please?"

Caras: "Sure."

Chrysteel comes down stairs. She walks over to Caras and says, "I think we have something figured out about changelings, Caras. Niruna would you like to know as well?"

Chrysteel will keep his secret but she will speak of hers. She knows how to word herself.

Niruna figured she would go and find out what simple has been up to. She heard a lot of strange things happening in his room last night, so she wanted to know what was going on. It didn't take long to fins him either. "Hey! Onii-Chan! Good morning." She gave simple a large hug. "What were you doing last night that cause so much ruckus? In fact what are you doing right now?"

Dawn had noticed that Caras had left and sighed. Now she had time to plan for what was to come next. The alicorn then sat on the floor of her cell and began to meditate. She didn't know how well the inhibitor would work on her aura manipulation, so she wouldn't try to use that unless it was needed.

Tempest sighed and thought for a moment. "To be honest, I don't know." He muttered under his breathe. "We still have to get back to Equestria and tell the princesses what's going on, but we cant leave Dawn." The bat pony then shook his head and glanced at Clayton. "Take her back to the outpost and then to Equestria." With that, the bat pony flew into the air and headed north.

Xena sighed. He knew what Tempest was going through and it wasn't exactly good. "Hopefully Dawn isn't hurt." He thought.

Somewhere else in the bat pony's mind, Nephyer watched as the energy given to Tempest from Naga's sacrifice drifted through his mind. "Let's see if we can add to this." He muttered to himself as he opened his mouth. Venom then dripped from his fangs and into the karma, turning it into something a bit more negative.

...

Chrysteel says, "Yes I would. Thanks. As for the thing, I asked a friend to run a few tests and it seems that in order to evolve to my next level of power, I require the following:

1. Flutterling's Heart

2. The love of Friendship to power the heart

3. A small vial of devil's or demon's blood, preferably given willingly by the strongest devil or demon alive.

With these items I might just be able to achieve a power my kind hasn't seen sense before it became what it is now. What do you think?"

Caras: "I don't know how to aquire the first two. But the third one is quite simple. Moat complicated part of it is for us to take a trip to the underworld capital and speak with Niruna's father Lord Lucifer. As the Maö, his power is the greatest among devils. I'm scheduled to appear in the Underworld next week, we can go then. I'll help you how ever I can ti get the first two." He handed her the Cup of tea before taking two to go and find Niruna.

Chrysteel claims her cup and follows Caras. Chrysteel says, "The crystal I showed you is the Flutterling's Heart. So that is solved. You, Niruna, Simple and maybe another can help me get that. However the more friends I have willing to help, the faster I can get the needed energy."

Chrysteel shows him the crystal. If it very faintly glowing. Chrysteel looks it over and says, "The crystal holds 25% of the needed energy already."

Once the gathered items are gained then we just need to wait. If the conditions are meet, I should begin my evolution. After that we will need to find the Flutterling's Honor crystal and fill it with the love of family. I also think we will need other things as well before I can achieve the next evolution after that. I will also need to gather enough power to fuel the evolution as well. I already have enough power for it this time."

Tempest landed a mile outside of Hell Above and sent out an astral projection of himself. He needed to scout out the area before he carried through with his attempt to rescue Dawn. "The funny thing is, I don't even think there's really a good side in this war." He thought to himself as his projection drifted towards the city.

Dawn stopped meditating and sighed. She was still exhausted from previous events and fell asleep, curling into a ball and moving her tail in front of her head.

"It's an interesting theory I'll say that much. Full evolution for your species will be something tremendous indeed. This crystal is very peculiar in of itself, I'd like a closer examination of this in the future." Caras set Niruna's tea down outside of Simples room, "Niruna? Your tea is out here. Drink it before item gets cold this time." "If you'll excuse me Chrysteel, I have something I must do." Caras vanished in a puff of smoke.

Zecz: "Ah, busy as ever I see." Zecz had manage to sneak up behind Chrysteel unnoticed. "He never has any time for others. Oh, how rude of me. My name is Zecz, Lord Zecz of the Household that shares the same name. Of course you know who I am, you watched the tournament yesterday didn't you?" He gave her a very polite bow, "pleasure to make your acquaintance ma'am."

Chrysteel returns the juesture. "I did. I was also the one who spoke about one's worst fear. Did you know a master illusionist would be able to create an illusion that makes their target relive their worst fear over and over again. It is maddening just thinking about it."

As Tempest's projection drifted through the city, he was a bit impressed. The architecture itself was stunning, even if it was a bit dark, but he wasn't here to gawk like some tourist. The bat pony then made his way to where he sensed Dawn and found her asleep. "There don't seem to be any guards. This seems to easy." He thought to himself as he returned to his body. He wouldn't strike now, though. He would wait until the empty moon rose into the sky.

Clayton watched as his friend flew off and sighed, thinking of how often this happened. "He's going to die protecting his friends one day. Eventually , he'll make a mistake." He thought to himself as he turned to Golden. "Come on. We should head back to Canterlot and warn the princesses."

Rave was wandering around Hell Above. There seemed to be some festival coming to an end. He did not pay much heed to that. He was not a pony to celebrate, at least not until the job was done. So far, he knew that he probably had a lot of tasks ahead of him. He would be ready for them. The unicorn continued trotting through the streets of the city.

Waking from dormancy always left Mango sore, as annoying as it was it wasn't his primary concern. His length of abscense would probably be noticed by other ponies back home. Or they might of believed he was slain in the demon attack, either way he need to notify his status. Other then that Mango needed to feed his suit, there was only one place he could think of that had it and that was the ruins of the city. Towing his sword he began his March to the burning husk that once was something beautiful.
