game Angelic Buster Maplestory vector

I decided to practice my Vectoring skills recently, so made a redraw of one of the skills from the Angelic Buster class in Maplestory

It could use tweeks to make the gradients at the ends smoother, but was for practice

 

If there are any illustrator users who know of tips and trick for gradients and blurs that would be appreciated!

I used Gaussian for the background blur effects, and seem to somewhat expand with the image, but still pixelate when zoomed in...
Attempting to use blend didn't seem to work for color to transparent, if anyone has suggestions or know of tutorial regarding this effect it would be greatly appreciated!
