planning ancestral quest

I am planning an alternate ponyverse rp. I am a very seasoned gm with over 20 years experience in rp, from d&d to chat room rp to face to face free style rp. 15 of those years of of rp experience I have also been a gm as well as player.

This is going to be an epic level ancestral quest i am converting from a d&d campaign I have been planning for a long time. What i need is four players (one slot is already filled by my friend who introduced me to these forums) each player will be filling a certain role in the quest and each will have a personal quest to fulfill also. The roles I need filled are also d&d based. I need a warrior base, a Devine caster base, and an arcane caster base (the rogue base is filled by afore mentioned friend). I welcome high powered characters, with my experience I've learned to deal with op characters. So shake off your shackles and bring me your power play characters, alicorns welcome as long as you can fit into one of the bases.

I'm just in planning i was just giving the information I have at this time not filling roles at this time.

Hehehe just to let it be known since this is such a limited rp it's not a first come first served Im just seeing about interest right now after I see about the interest I'll do sign ups

As I said not first come first served I'm picky with my ancestral quest I've been working on it for years almost as many years as I've been gming but I love the enthusiasm

As a paladin you get devine casting ability plus I have special powers planned for each of the characters based specifically on race/class

I was really hoping to have alicorns as my two main casters so an alicorn Devine caster is perfect

Also something I forgot to mention feral or anthro is welcome I'm not gonna get things stuck in just one form

the paladin bit was for arching storm I was placing paladin as warrior base not Devine base

Well since you both have been suggested by midnight I'll give you two high consideration he knows how important the choice of players is to me for this one once we have interest from one more I'll open up for apps to join

before I decide on people I'm gonna need to see characters. Remember this is going to start out epic level and just get worse from there massive character growth is going to happen even though itll start out what most gms would consider op

As I said I love the idea of an alicorn Devine caster I really want both casters to be alicorn why don't you give me what ideas you have for the characters and I'll let you know if they fit that way you know before hand

I really like your ideas for light Constructs and holy summoning. So far what you've talked about fits well with the ancestral quest we'd just need to figure out a personal quest for your character and your holy patron

And the special powers would be on top of the racial and class abilities

As for the world middle ages fantasy typical if you've ever read any forgotten realms books or played the baulders gate (yes I include both computer and console games) the equestrian country has neiboring countries that have humanoid races/species so anthro equestrians aren't uncommon this is a magic heavy world many people know atleast small magics but magic is difficult to master so it's a rare person/pony who can master magic celestia And Luna have ascended to true deity and is most common patrons for equestrian Devine casters though patron deities from other countries is heard of also this world is what is known as a mana line/mana pool system the closer you are to a line/pool the more powerful arcane magic is equestria is in the center is the largest pool of mana known in the world there for the magic is extremely strong and because of being seeped with such high concentrations of mana even when they are away from the pool they carry some of it in thier body thier magic doesn't lose much potency equestria stands in the weather sweet spot with mild winters and summers thier agricultural season is very long there are very special people in the world who obtain ancestral power (your characters are such people) who obtain unimaginable power but they always wind up saving the world and if they survive they become legends

The reason I mentioned the baulders gate games is because it is set in faerun there are a Couple things I didn't get into but what I gave you so far is mostly well known information And I'll let you discover ither things as your character does also

I was using it as a world reference not story line reference

Hhhmmm the warrior is a popular spot huh hehehe well so far I've only decided on two spots the rogue base is gonna be filled by midnight_aurora and the Devine caster is filled by bronislav84 if I don't find someone interested in the arcane caster base I won't be able to do this rp

Ok the arcane caster taps into the mana lines to perform thier magic they can use incantations materials somantic (spoken words not incantations) and hoof/hand movement components to aid in thier casting arcane magic is typically damaging buff/debuff (more emphasis on debuff) and mind effecting where Devine is more focused on healing buffing and smiting (specifically damaging to things like undead or specific alignment) arcane casters study and memorize complex spells where Devine casters pray for t hiers but they must prepare thier spells every morning through meditation each arcane casters also can't ware any armor heavier than cloth but the do have armor like spells uhm of you need more info please ask more specific questions
