Equestria Academy?

So I've heard whimpers about this spin-off show of equestria girls, called equestria academy, but only whimpers, is it just a rumor,or real but not much info?

 

What is it? I reeeealy want an equestria girls spin-off, but I wont get my hopes up on rumors.

Not only was it a rumor. IIRC, it was apparently based on a "Equestria Girls" mistranslation.

It was apparently a mistranslation for Rainbow Rocks, explaining why it wasn't brought up afterwards

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the rumor started from a mistranslation...though part of me wishes that it would actually happen
