What is your standpoint on boy bands?

A lot of boy bands sure do get some heat!

Personally, I like boy bands if they aren't too bad. What about you? Like em', or dislike 'em?

It really depends for me. As someone mentioned I love Backstreet Boys and the Beach Boys. N'Sync is catchy, but definitely not a band I would obsess over.

1D was okay, until that is Zayn left. Harry's voice is spine-chilling, so at least 1D is holding up barely.. Meh, once again I usually listen to music by Enya, Enigma, Josh Groban, not much of modern pop. (Except I do love some-what older modern pop, like older rap, r&b, jazz, etc.)

I don't like such music but I mean who am I to say what other people should enjoy? If you like this genre of music all the power to you.

I like 'em! I mean... I grew up on bands like The Backstreet Boys and the Jonas Brothers.
I don't see any problems with them- if they sound good, great!

I've just never seen the appeal.  And I wonder: If the boys in a boy band get too old to be called boys...  Do they become members of a man band?  Man band!  It's a thing.

They're more style than substance. At least most boy bands of the 60's branched out some and actually made some great, innovative music.

Boy bands these days are made to sell money. I have have a friend for a while, wanted to married Niall from 1D but this year, she has barely talked about 1D at all. Then I have another friend IRL who writes fanfiction about her marrying Niall and him going to jail and her having his baby or something like that. And have you seen all the merchanise for boy bands. It's just a money making scheme that works if you ask me.

I was with a group of friends at a concert once and Hometown, Louis Walsh's new band was playing. When they came on, everyone was screaming and I just joined in because I had nothing better to do. Hometown was good, and it was all advertised to us that they would be having a concert propert at such and such a date. And at this competition, the room was filled with 80% teenaged girls and the other 20% are a mixture of parents, boys and teachers and whatever. It was such a marketing ploy.

Dun dun ddduuuuuuuunnnnnn!
