Since Hasbro's primary purpose for financing the show is to make/sell toys- that wasn't going to work. Celestia and Luna's old castle probably isn't flashy/colorful enough for Hasbro to make a good selling toy out of. SO what we get is the obnoxious one that pops out of the ground. Rainbow Rocks... at least how it could've looked... in a stranger, more interesting dimension For those who are wondering, Twilight is chewing bubble gum. Skyling 14 July 23, 2015 Share July 23, 2015 I kinda doubt it was ever intended to be Twilight's castle - I mean, it's in the middle of the Everfree forest, it would be more fitting a place for Equestria's highest security prison than a castle for one of its monarchs, nowadays. Twilight getting the old castle would have been a great idea, it could have been an example of how things can sometimes in an interesting way come full circle. They could have found a way to get there quickly, perhaps a portal or something in what could have become the new library? They could have found a way to get there quickly, perhaps a portal or something in what could have become the new library? Even Twilight's Castle makes it more isolated and lonely. The creators should have made that castle sprout out near the place where the library was before, maybe even on the same location. Twi's Castle is a beautiful place but not a lively one at that compared to Canterlot and the Crystal Empire. There's just no pony around where the new castle is standing let alone the Castle of the Two Sisters. I'm a little surprised Twilight didn't at least salvage the books.
