@,

"Im pretty sure the only thing he the Rocketeer disliked about that time was the dent all that food consumption made in his wallet."

*Sasha said with a laugh. She then looked like she remembered something.*

"When King was last here he did have some cryptic things to say, as per usual."

*She walked over to a bookshelf and took a small box off of it.*

"He said that something was coming. He couldn't exactly tell what, but he identified it with this."

*She opened the box. Inside was a singe face down tarot card. She picked it up and showed it to Cas. It was The Devil.*

"The Devil, King pointed out the aspects of selfishness, ego, and greed as the most prominent warnings this card is showing at the moment. This isn't part of his main deck though, this card has no power to it."

*She placed the card on her coffee table and sat down. Amygdala the cat trotted over to her and jumped onto her lap. She pet the cat as she thought.*

"I have no idea to whom or what it could be referring to though."

*King woke up to a sharp pain in his gut. He looked up to see a man in a mask with a tray. The man put the tray down on the ground in front of King and then left the cell with a slam of the door. King looked at the contents of the tray, a bowl of cold stew, and a chunk of bread. He tried to move his hands and found them to be still tied up. He sighed.*

"Well at least they didn't give me a banana or some other shit that needs the use of hands to eat."

*He weakly chuckled. Over time, King managed to consume most of the stew and the entire chunk of bread. He sighed with a bit of relief as he had been rather afraid that these people had brought him here to starve to death. This was the first think he had been given since his imprisonment. But it also raised the question of why he actually was being held here. Spending too much time thinking wasn't good, and before long, King found himself fading into unconsciousness again.*

"Oy! Git yerself oop ya slahgard."

*The voice was unfamiliar. King opened his eyes to see a man standing over him.*

"Dee baws wahnts yah. Soh git yerself oop."

*King excerted himself and stood up. His body was stiff, and before he could do much of anything, the man grabbed his arm and started leading him out of the cell and through the dungeon. At the end opposite of the cell was a door, the guard opened the door and pushed King in. This room was well lit, and rather lavishly decorated. Near the back, a man in a suit with a rather haunted look sat at a desk looking at the new arrival. Also on the desk, was King's deck of Tarot cards. The man at the desk began to speak.*

"Alexander King, yes? It is a pleasure to finally meet you."

*He gestured for King to sit in the chair across the desk from him, King did so. The guard closed the door and stood watching the two.*

"My name is Markus Toor. The president of Toor Industries. I will get right to the point, as I am sure you are interested in knowing why I have brought you here. I would like a reading. You are said to be the most prominent fortune teller in all of Sashiil, yet you rarely do proper readings, only to those who peak your interest. You see, I have been feeling rather........ lost, and I need guidance. I need a reading from the best."

*King sat and looked at Mr. Toor for a moment and laughed a bit.*

"Well, you certainly have gotten me interested, such a prominent figure using such shady means to get my attention. Very well. I'll do a reading for you, on the condition that I get to be released once I am finished. I promise I won't tell anyone about this."

*Toor thought for a moment and then nodded.*

"Very well, once you have finished you will be free to go. Sollun, please untie his hands."

*Toor said to the guard at the door. The guard did so and King moved his arms around freely, regaining the movement and getting rid of the stiffness that had settled in. Toor slid the deck of tarot cards over to King.*

"You are aware that my readings remain vague, and merely serve as a hint as to what may be coming correct?"

*King picked up the cards and separated them into two decks. The major and minor arcana. He set the deck of minor arcana to the side as Toor nodded his head.*

"Very well then,"

*King suffled the deck of the major arcana and spread the cards out in front of him.*

"Choose three cards and, without looking, hand them to me."

*Toor chose three cards at random, put them together and handed them to King. King slid the remaining cards back into a neat stack with one swipe of his hands and held the three cards Toor had chosen in front of him. He placed the cards face down on the desk, and spread them evenly.*

"Let us start with your past."

*King said as he flipped the first card, revealing The Devil.*

"Your past is greed, selfishness. You were, and perhaps still are filled to the brim with your own ego. While confidence in yourself can be good, it can also cause issues, overconfidence has been the downfall of many great men."

*King flipped the second card.*

"Your present. The Fool. You are, or are very soon, starting a journey. One where you need to stay optimistic. Keep in good humor and don't let things get you down. Maintain this and you will push past your limits."

*He flipped the final card.*

"The card Death shows your future."

*Toor stood up with a shocked look.*

"Im going to die!?|

*King smirked.*

"Don't we all? Death is an inevitability for all of us. We can only hope for immortality in the means of being remembered for being great. Either greatly good, or greatly evil. However..."

*King tapped the card.*

"Death does not symbolize the greeting of your inevitable fate. Death symbolizes a drastic change, at sometime in the future, something either within you, or around you will change. It will not be easy, as with change brings the unknown, and the unknown is oft feared. But if you embrace the change, with optimism.."

*He tapped The Fool card.*

"Then you may experience a second chance to start over, an opportunity for growth. Embrace the change with a positive outlook, and things will likely turn out fine."

*King put his hand on The Fool card, covering it. The card began to glow under his hand and King lifted a copy of the card up from the original.*

"This card signifies you now. Your journey, and your need for optimism. When the time comes, it will begin to fade. Once the card is gone, your change will be imminent."

*He handed the copy of the card to Toor and gathered up his deck.*

"So... I should leave, go explore the world. Have a journey, and find my change?"

*Toor asked.*

"If that is what your soul is telling you to do. A journey doesn't have to be literal."

*King said with a smile as he slid the deck of cards into his pocket.*

"Thank you Alexander. You have given me much to think about. Sollen, please lead him to the surface, and escort him safely out of the Murk."

*Toor said to the guard.*

"I am going to stay here for now. I need some time to think."

*King bowed.*

"I wish you the best Mr. Toor."

*Toor waved as his guard led King out of the room. As King followed the guard, he thought to himself. Toor had said that they were in The Murk. That means he was all the way back in Tollopolis. He should probably head over to Sasha's apartment, she was bound to be worried. King smirked to himself. He was lucky he had used the chariot before he had been captured, if not, things may have ended up a tad bit worse. After King and Sollen had gotten out of The Murk, Sollen offered to call a cab for King, who declined.*

"I need the exercise. Been tied up not moving for a while. Gotta get myself functioning again."

*Sollen nodded and began to make his way back to his employer. King found out where in the city they had surfaced and began to make his way to Sasha's apartment complex.*

Casimir frowned when Sasha showed him the Devil card. She said King had told her something was coming... could he have been hinting at that presence he had started just moments after he had arrived here? It still felt distant and slightly obscured, but it was much stronger now.

"Something's not right in the air anymore," he said seriously. "Do you feel it too?"

---

The wanderer clad in Egyptian robes had reached the surface now. It was still light out, albeit obscured by the haze that attributed to the name of The Murk. The atmosphere reminded him of parts of the Duat, the Egyptian netherworld, and for a few brief seconds he thought he had merely wandered into a part of it that simply reflected a more shadowy version of different parts of the world. But no... he was no longer that amateur kid that often got lost while traveling through its currents. He had mastered that skill now, able to travel in, out, and through the Duat as he pleased to get to where he needed to be. There was another being in distant Tollopolis that could do something similar, just through his own realm. Ammit sneered.

"His own realm," he thought with disgust. "How could a mere, pathetic child have received such authority when I, who mastered the darkest and most powerful of Egypt's magic in a matter of months and spread endless fear and chaos can't even get a lowly portion of the Duat for myself? It's an insult."

Ammit stood there, seething. Even from here, he could sense Abaddon's twisted presence. He was sure the reverse was the same, and he hoped it was. He wanted him, and every other meta with the ability to detect presences to know he was back. And this time, he wasn't going to pull any punches, or let himself be swayed to fight for "noble causes". He was a servant to himself now, to Chaos, and all would tremble and bow before him... and the Others...

@,

"I can more than feel it, I can see it."

*Sasha said, crossing her arms.*

"The tendancy in the city is getting erratic. Most people have light tendancy with a dark aura. Recently darker tendancies have been cropping up a lot more often. The past few days have had it in a rather large amount of excess. I said it earlier to someone I met when I first encountered that guy I was beating up when you showed up. Something big is going to happen, and soon."

"If there is an unknown, shouldn't I..." But Shades words fell on deaf ears as Silver went off to engage the unknown. "Oh well, looks like we get to play the waiting game..." he said to the stranger. "The name is False Shade by the way. Since we have some free time at the moment."

Shade was thinking of things to waste time with, then he thought of a Rubik's cube. Didn't I put one in the HAMSPACE as a test... And as he thought of it, a Rubik's cube materialized in his hands. It was all jumbled up as well. "Oh I forgot about this being in there. Might as well work on it." Shade began to try to solve it while he waited for Silver.

He thought. He knew that something was going on, especially since the clerk had been tranquilized, but if these were the culprits, at least they weren't going for the direct approach, which hopefully meant that they did not want to deal with him.

"Well, let me help you finish up then."

Silver shakes her head, "No need, we're all done now. Why don't you head out, and we'll follow you in a minute." She suggests, hoping that this person, obviously a hero of some kind, is at least willing to disengage without fighting. However, she subtly shifts her stance to prepare to fight him if necessary, queuing up a message to Shade in case she needs someone who is actually decent at fighting to take things over.

I don't know what caused that explosion, but wouldn't an intrepid hero like you be better suited investigating that than helping a couple able-bodied nerds get up an elevator? @@Midnight_Aurora,

"Technically? Yes, anyone can learn to perform Tarot readings, but having powers that revolve around the Tarot in general gives my readings a little extra finesse. Tarot readings in general are mostly about understanding what each card means and represents, as well as it's context in relation with the other cards in play with the reading. My abilities give me a..... lets call it a connection with the cards. To me, its almost like they are a living thing, telling me all sorts of things about people, which I relay back to them."

*King stopped walking at the entrance to an apartment complex.*

"We have arrived at my destination. If you'd like you could come and join us. Sasha will likely ask for a reading, I haven't given her one since shortly after we first met, nearly nine years ago, and I have a feeling that. I'm sure she wouldn't mind a little extra company."

*King noticed a disgruntled looking pizza delivery guy leaving the building.*

"And hey, looks like she's ordered some pizza too. That guy always leaves disgruntled like that after delivering to Sasha. He's always asking her out, but she always refuses."

*He said nodding in the direction of the mentioned delivery guy.*

Shade's cell phone bleeped with a text notification. "Who could be texting me now..." Shade pulled out his phone and read the message. "Damn, she's in a bit of trouble with a supe. Time to go save me partner."

Per her instruction, Shade hesitantly put the B17 canister into the HAMSPACE. "Well, it was nice meeting ya, but it's time for me to go rock and roll." Shade then moved out towards where he last saw Silver go.

Shade walked back the way Silver went, and saw the two from a distance. He reread the message. "Hostile? Oooh it looks like a bit of fun is to be had. There was a reason I brought my little friend..."

Shade's minigun materialized into his hands. The gun actually had painted on it's side, My Little Friend. "I thought I wouldn't have needed you little buddy, but time for you to get some fresh air," Shade said to himself. He advanced towards the two and called out, "Silver, I would suggest you get down!" Before waiting for a reaction, Shade opened fire at the other supe.

"Say hello to my little friend!"

"Sure. We don't have anything planned till later tonight. It would help us better understand what you mean. We ate before leaving, so we aren't hungry right now. A drink would be good though." Aurora nods and follows King. She observes her surroundings like a detective working a case. But her method makes it seem like she isn't paying any attention to the situation.

Emile immediately recognized the name False Shade and knew he was not someone to mess with. When Shade ran down the hallway and started shooting at someone, Emile followed and recognized the Star Spangled Man. He created a rift underneath the Star Spangled Man and one in the lobby. Emile then created a rift for himself and grabbed the Star Spangled Man's arm. "We have to move," he said with urgency in his voice.

@@Midnight_Aurora,

"The World is in reference to me. It represents unlimited potential, and the means of achieving my goals. Of all twenty-two cards of the major arcana, it is one of the two that shows movement. I hate staying in one place for two long, Im constantly going from one place to another, discovering new things. The Star however, is in reference to Sasha. Its more about pursuing your goals, and following your own hopes and dreams. I had said she seems to take her fate into her own hands. As for readings."

*He began so say with a smile.*

"I typically give readings to those who interest me, and I feel have earned the knowledge. I ordinarily give readings in the style of past, present, and future. Three time frames, three cards. It is a rather vague style, but it gives a hint of what to watch out for, and what to be careful of. The tarot is a rather vague means of fortune telling, and it honestly really fits me, as I hate spoilers, and this is merely hints."

*As Sasha and Cas sat in silence thinking about what was going on in the city there was a knock on the door*

"Oh! The food is here!"

*Sasha got up and grabbed the money she had set out and answered the door. Paid the delivery boy, the cash and a tip. Fended off his minor attempts at flirting, and closed the door after he had left.*

"Anyway, time to sate some hunger."

*She said as she put the four pizza boxes on the counter. She opened one of the boxes up and took out a slice.*

"So, I don't think I have asked. Where have you been for all these years? Especially since you only had three to our seven."

Casimir's concerned expression partially faded when Sasha brought in the pizza.

"Finally, I was fixing to just head out and get myself something to eat!"

Almost immediately after Sasha had set the 4 boxes down on the table, he nabbed two and plopped back down on the couch. He opened the first box, was happy to see it contained pineapple, and started to eat the pizzas with gusto.

"What- what I've been up to all this time?" Casimir asked as he swallowed a huge bite.

"Ah, sorry, had to finish that first! Anyway... I've basically been 'planeswalking' for lack of better word. I visited a myriad of different realms within my set of three years, learning about new things and civilizations, and uncovering secrets and treasures. I even had to take down a few tyrants and villains too. After all, their kind aren't confined to out cities alone..."

Casimir went on to tell Sasha of some of his exploits in these other worlds. His ways and ideals hadn't changed at all; he had rended and devoured abhorrent rulers before their subjects and had imprisoned others within the torturous depths of Sheol. He had even had a hand in turning the tides of certain battles, although such things would likely remain unknown except to other realm travelers and of course, those who had actually lived in the realm where Abaddon had been in.

Casimir stopped his rambling after a while and resumed eating his pizzas as he waited for Sasha to say something more.
