I was thinking, if the show locations are based off of real locations in the U.S... Would there be mlp equivalent to YellowStone National Park? I would say something like a canyon made entirely out of jewels and crystals, that was made from a caldera super volcano. That is still active and the magma Ocean still visible for viewing. A location described as Starlight Canyon National Park.

If hasbro or discovery channel sees this post and create it within the show, that would be awesome.

What do you guys think?

It's totally plausible. Your description reminds me of the area that Rarity ended up in when she got her cutie mark. I think that we will see more settings around and outside of Equestria this season. Looking forward to it!

Well I'd prefer if the entirety of Equestria didn't get covered in meters of scalding ash causing all the ponies to suffocate.

And I came here thinking about Morrowind.

I'd say the Dragon's Crater in Dragon Quest makes sense. You even see lava in it.

Calderas are underground. They only show as bulges.

Equestrian Mordor please.  Tirek and Scorpon clearly came from a badlands...  But we don't have our "Land of Fire" yet...  The dragon region yes...  but I'm think more a hellish landscape.  Maybe we just need to see more of the Dragon areas for that.
