Polygon has to be the most uneducated bunch of idiots i have ever seen, judging a game before they play it, and even crossing the line of judging the gamers themselves like its a joke. And this people is why we can't have nice things anymore.

 

Seriously? If this is how gaming journalism works, then i laugh at it constantly. the bias comments they produce are just painful.  Have you ever seen anything from them that doesn't sound anti-gamer? 

 

Now i want to hear your thoughts and maybe have a discussion on this topic, but if you want to only leave a thought, its fine.

That way the guy put it was offensive, and not how you go about it. If they want to make me change my opinion, they better stop with that way of thinking. That review was really unprofessional, how would he know if that game was night right for him if he never tried it. "gonna get me a wig and spray paint my face", wtf? That crossed the line dude, how many are gonna think like this and make fun of us?

 

When i said uneducated, i meant it by him not knowing what true journalism is; the media has done this making anti-gaming statements; what makes them any different?

I don't see the point when journalism is untruthful, it's become worse than slavery ever was. That place and others need to stop trying to make their reviews sound amateurish, and try to be professional. Proto has said basically what this guy is literally saying, just with examples. Journalism in all aspects is worse than before, all of them. You can pay for a review and be dishonest about it or do the right thing and tell the truth.

I'm not quick to judge anyone, i've been around long enough to know when a gaming journalist lies; plenty of them do. I only respect those who know what they're doing.

Excuse me? Passion is the most important thing in that line of work, and that guy has none. And yes, i would; i don't judge a series based on a single experience. Sad to see things like this, Man if I was a journalist and they invited me to something like that I would be glad to participate, because its about having fun and having the experience. If the guy didn't want to go then he should have told them before he went there.

I'm not talking shit about him, its his fault for not being passionate. And what is said is the difference, you may not like it, but you don't have to go to a gaming scene if you didn't like it in the first place. Fanfics are always being trashed for nothing, nobody ever considers what a writer goes through to make their stories. 

 

But that's not what we're talking about, gaming journalism is what is important not fanfics right now. If you don't want to keep on topic, then leave. I've made my point.

Now as i was saying:

Gaming Journalism is a funny thing. You got neutral journalists, who will tell their opinion but may or may not be influenced by an outside party saying "give this a good/bad review for <insert reason here>", you have journalists who are obviously being paid off to give just one or two game series nearly perfect scores, and then there are the journalists who give their 100% honest opinion without being influenced by anything other than themselves and their own past experiences. And I am talking about every game journalist out there, not just the big known ones.

 

Generally the well known ones are paid off, and the lesser known ones stick to either popular opinion or their own. To be honest, game journalism is stupid, it seems now these days you have to read 100 different articles on the same subject to at lest get more than 1 or 2 biased views on said subject and even then, you never get the whole story until you look into it yourself unless you find one of the few who have a passion for it.

The mods deleted it because i asked them to, nobody else gave me shit. All they did was see how far they could take it until i cried, that's not criticism, that is being a bully. Only one person understood my handicap, and he cares. Nobody else did. I'm no liar .

No, i kept the comment that was actually helpful; the others were just stale answers. Telling me, "Bad grammar" or "Unoriginal story" are vague at best.

 Not really. They showed you that you need to work with your grammar and that you need a more original story. Also I remember that it was a few that gave  good advice. But those aren't important.
